As darkness grows, the fate of the world depends on Bron. She has been protected and watched over since she was born. Unfortunately, she's sick and ill. Something is missing, and she won't be able to do any saving until she unlocks her powers.
But time's up. She needs to join the war.
Nick has been one of the stars guarding her. His connection to Bron is strong and unbreakable. He'd do anything for her. There are so many questions surrounding Bron, and he tries to help her without getting too close to her.
I really liked the romance between the characters. It's strong and innocent. Perfect for young adults.
One of the things I didn't like were how things were revealed. Bron would ask numerous questions all the time. Some would get answered, others were ignored. I wish she was able to figure things out herself and have new experiences. I like to feel surprised and shocked, but I didn't get any of those feelings until the end.
Although I received an ARC, I ended up reading the Kindle version because it was free a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately, the book needs some additional editing.

This year I’ve found myself becoming somewhat of an Anna Bloom fan. The Truth About Love series was wonderful, one I found myself devouring. The Game was even more amazing, providing an addictive read I needed to complete in a single sitting. Other Anna Bloom books are sitting on my Kindle waiting to be read, namely the Love and Loss books. One that always stood out to me, however, was the Gravity series.
Anna Bloom is best known for her contemporary romance, and I was intrigued to see how her foray into young adult science fiction played out. I find it can sometimes be a case of hit or miss when authors try something outside of their area of expertise, yet the notion of Gravity really grabbed me.
Although I did not enjoy Gravity to quite the same level as I enjoyed my other Anna Bloom reads, I did find it to be an enjoyable book. In all honesty, my rating is more of a three-point-five star rating than a three star rating. I spent a while debating whether I was to give it a three star rating or a four star rating, but in the end I opted to round down because I feel as though the potential for the next books will guarantee an easy four star rating.
Gravity grabbed me because of the premise of the story – the fact our characters are stars. Had I not walked down the psychology path, I’d like to believe my destiny would have been in the stars (in other words, astronomy is something I’m super interested in). I love a good science fiction read, but I cannot think of many books where our characters are stars. It grabbed me and I wanted to know more, curious as to how such a thing would play out.
Although there is a very clear science fiction element to this story, I feel as though a lot of the more contemporary issues were giving more attention than was necessary. We’re always dealing with the issues surrounding the science fiction elements of the story, but at the same time we’re dealing with the banalities of young adult life. We have so many scenes of school, and even though they’re mixed in with all the science fiction drama, I found myself wishing the school stuff would take a back seat.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved the science fiction stuff. It was so interesting, and I’ve been left with so many questions. There were a few points where I had to silence the astronomer within – I had to remind myself that science fiction did not always match up with the facts – but for the most part I was really intrigued by what was going on. I simply wish we have delved deeper into the details, I wish we’d been given a bit more. It is wonderful to leave you interested in the series, but I favour having more solid information by the end of the first book in such a series.
Nevertheless, I did enjoy this one. It grabs the attention and leaves you intrigued as to what comes next – meaning it should be no surprise to find out I jumped straight into book two.

I was privileged enough to beta read Gravity - my first foray into work by Anna Bloom - and I instantly fell in love with Bronte Bell and the mysterious Nick.
Gravity captures that time in life where everything is a big deal... first kisses, first love, friendships, and fall outs. Bronte is scared and unsure of things happening to her, around her, but she's also strong and determined, and I really liked that. I found her easy to relate to and wanted to take the journey with her ... although Nick may have played a role in this.
I am a sucker for those big feel moments and a swoon worthy male lead, and boy oh boy, does Anna give us that in Nick. He's the perfect mix of misunderstood bad boy and gentleman that I literally devoured his scenes.
PNR / Fantasy YA has always been a firm favourite of mine, and Gravity gave me something fresh and different whilst keeping hold of all the key ingredients for a great young adult read. I can't wait for book #2 ... like, seriously. I need it ... NOW!!!

*~* I received an arc in return for an honest and unbiased review*~*
Let me start by saying Anna Bloom is one very talented lady. I've read most of her work and I'm yet to be left disappointed. I love her writing style. Her story lines and the depth of her characters.
I've not read a lot of paranormal books and I've only read 1 that really had me but I can honestly say THIS right here has just turned me because Holy hell! That was was one of the most amazingly written, nail biting reads I've ever experienced! I was left speechless at the end, which is very rare for me. This has quite literally blown me away!
I couldn't stop turning the pages on this little beauty. I devoured it in one sitting and my kindle didn't leave my hands. I was gripped from chapter one and all the way to the very last page. I felt the build up of the characters, their own personalities, their quirks, the tension building around them as the story progressed. I felt it all, right along with them. The story line was gripping. And I honestly didn't see the twist coming at the end!!
I'm currently sat here trying to write something to do it any form of justice and I can't begin to even form the words so I'll leave it on this:
If you read any of Anna's work it has to be this!
If you've never read a paranormal and your thinking of trying one it has to be this!
If your not sure what you want to read then let this be your purchase.
Even if this is not your normal criteria of book, please give this a chance.
You truly won't be disappointed!!

You guys!!! Anna Bloom is one of my favourite authors, and when she decided to branch out and write paranormal romance under a slightly altered pen-name (so people wouldn't confuse it with her contemporary books), I was all for it. I don't read that much PNR these days, but I've always enjoyed it, and I couldn't wait to dive into Gravity.
As with all of this authors books, I just couldn't get enough. I wanted to savour every bit of information given, and also, at the same time, I wanted to be able to read faster just so I could find out what was happening. And to say this was the authors first journey into PNR, I was seriously impressed! The storyline was great, with fab twists, and I loved the whole link to stars, I loved the characters, and boy did I swoon over Nick!
Whether you're already a fan of Anna Bloom, or whether you enjoy paranormal romance, I would definitely suggest you give Gravity a try. Be prepared to beg the author for more the second you finish the book though after that ending... 5 well deserved stars.

Gravity is an absorbing read. OMG I couldn't put it down, the details were fascinating. I'm not big into reading paranormal stories but I love Anna's work and had to give it a go, I'm so glad I did. Gravity is like no other paranormal story I have read. It kept me intrigued and the storyline flowed so well. Gravity keeps you guessing and will leave you wanting more. Thank you Anna for a spectacular read.

3.5 Falling Stars.
Review in short, for those of you who don't spend time reading reviews. Very slow to begin with. But it does get better. And once you reach book two you'll be hooked. Can I just say book 3 is excellent! So keep reading!!! ;-)
Gravity I am actually finding it difficult to pop my review into words. I have had a few books recently that have resulted in me struggling to review them.
Okay here goes...
The storyline of Gravity is excellent. It's away from the norm in paranormal. Anna has brought a whole new feel to paranormal beings to Paranormal. This is the first book that doesn't contain vampires, shapeshifters, werewolves and so on... Nope none of those... We have Stars... Falling stars. ( A little bit like the film Star-dust without the witches. )
The thing I found difficult was Anna's writing style. In some places, it kind of made no sense and I found I had to keep skipping back and re-read parts trying to make sense of it. Without concentrating I would lose what was happening really fast. I also found that she jumped erratically from character to character. One minute you will be reading about Bronte to suddenly find that several lines back it changed to Nick.
I also found that maybe we needed a bit more history to have understood Nick and the stars better?
So I did find it all a bit confusing and Anna lost me several times with her writing style.
BUT SAYING ALL OF THE ABOVE!!!!!
I did very much enjoy it. especially as the story progressed. It was something fresh to read about. Cleverly contrasted into a story.
my advice if you are reading this. Persist. continue with it. Don't put it down because it's slow etc.... As I can now after just finishing book #3 say they are brilliant and so worth reading!!!

This was a slightly different take on the usual YA apocalyptic/sci-fi genre and I thought it worked well. Good world-building, interesting characters - I enjoyed reading it and I am looking forward to reading the next books.

Story is interesting enough, but the editing is atrocious and I wasn't a fan of the cliffhanger ending. It just felt like this wasn't even a complete book. Nothing explained, nothing resolved.

The Mile High Summary
The same thought kept coming to my head while I was reading this book, in the voice of Tim Gunn:
Stars are real, people!
(It was actually in Baileywick’s voice since I have a 5 year old daughter, but same thing.)
Oh, wait, no, I added an extra comma there to make it work in Gunn’s voice. It really should be:
Stars are real people.
Yeah. There’s my summary. Since vampires and werewolves and aliens and robots and superheroes and zombies and Godzilla and Gamera and Gamora every other human/creature love story has been played out, this one is between a human and a star.
As for the rest of the plot, the world is ending and our intrepid protagonist Bronte is the key between deciding if the stars live or people lives. She has star power, and not the kind that gets you a guest role in popular TV shows (or, apparently, president of the United States). A hunter is trying to kill her and take that power, which sucks for her.
Wow, my summary is kinda terrible. I’m blaming busy season.
My Thoughts
Look, I’ve read the Twilight books and even enjoyed parts of them. It wasn’t the paranormal romance part. Unfortunately, the Twilight curse has infected other books with its sexy vampire bite, turning the YA genre into a subsection of the Romance category.

Gravity clings on to that romance formula like it’s the cat’s pajamas (which my grandpa told me was a good thing for, um, reasons). Except instead of being a hundred year old man in the body of a teenager in love with an actual teenager, it’s a billion year old man in the body of a teenager in love with an actual teenager.
I know, gross. But I guess if you thought it was endearing in Twilight, you’ll probably be okay with it here.
Oh, also, the billion year old man has been watching the actual teenager since she was born. Which I’m pretty sure is equivalent to a father’s bestie leching on his teenage daughter.
If you can get past the romance, or, even worse, you’re into that Twilight-esque romance (which I know is a depressingly high number), the rest of the plot was fairly decent. Stars-as-people is a little odd, but not so unprecedented to never have been done before (though typically in fantasy books like Neil Gaiman’s Stardust).
The book also had some good twists and turns in the story. For about 75% of the plot, the pacing was right on, pushing the reader along to the next event with serious drive. And right at the end, there were a few interesting developments that I seemed really promising.
Then the story just stopped, with a big, fat “to be continued.” It actually had those words in the middle of a tense showdown like it was some kind of poorly crafted TV cliffhanger. I hate it when books do that. Wrap up one plot with enough loose strings to get me to read the next one. That’s the way it should be done.
Self Pub Setbacks
Gravity is set in the UK, and I’m going to say with a fairly high level of confidence that the author is from there. I mention this because the book had a couple of phrases that seemed just a bit off, but then when I turned on my internal British narrator, it sounded alright.
So the few items that I would have taken my red pen to might have just been my left-shouldered American demon reading the line. Other than that, it was pretty clean.
Recommendation Level
Look, if you haven’t gotten it from the review, I was not the target market for this book. Gravity was written for the very large subsection of the world that thought Twilight and Divergent and Matched and Beautiful Creatures (ug) were literary masterpieces. Or at least a good way to spend a Saturday afternoon. If you liked those books, you will probably like this one. Especially at the price (I got it at the higher price, but it looks like it’s currently free).
However, if you’re like me and are getting increasingly frustrated with romance’s unrelenting move to take over the YA space, you probably should take a pass.

♡I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book! ♡ This book literally kept me awake at night wondering what happens next. I found myself looking up at the stars and thinking what if it was real, how cool would it be.
How cool would it be if you woke up one morning and you are a star, or in the case of Bronte Bell a half star...
Night and day had a relentless war going on, which will win? If day won, all the stars would fall and cease to be. If night won, all the stars will live but humanity as you know it will cease to exist.
I don't want to go knee deep in the story with you, since I'm literally at a loss of words... The ending totally left me mind blowed. Like boom, EVERYTHING that you thought to be true is one big lie.
I messaged the author and posted on my blog about how good this book is! And I said I'd go to the ends of the earth to get this book in everyone's hands. My excitement about this book is beyond controllable! I want, no I need EVERYONE to read this book. It's the author's first Paranormal book, but I guarantee you its AMAZING!! The time you spend reading this book is so captivating and wonderful, that you actually feel a pang of guilt if you read it too quickly. This story needs to be digested in every fibre of your being. ✰

♡I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book! ♡ This book literally kept me awake at night wondering what happens next. I found myself looking up at the stars and thinking what if it was real, how cool would it be.
How cool would it be if you woke up one morning and you are a star, or in the case of Bronte Bell a half star...
Night and day had a relentless war going on, which will win? If day won, all the stars would fall and cease to be. If night won, all the stars will live but humanity as you know it will cease to exist.
I don't want to go knee deep in the story with you, since I'm literally at a loss of words... The ending totally left me mind blowed. Like boom, EVERYTHING that you thought to be true is one big lie.
I messaged the author and posted on my blog about how good this book is! And I said I'd go to the ends of the earth to get this book in everyone's hands. My excitement about this book is beyond controllable! I want, no I need EVERYONE to read this book. It's the author's first Paranormal book, but I guarantee you its AMAZING!! The time you spend reading this book is so captivating and wonderful, that you actually feel a pang of guilt if you read it too quickly. This story needs to be digested in every fibre of your being. ✰

First young adult paranormal read about Stars for me and I Absolutely loved it. Wasn't to sure what I was going to be getting when reading the blurb but from the beginning it had me intrigued to find out more so carried on the read and it was getting weird wasn't to sure if it was me but steamed through then gradually comes together which by then you get answers you were looking for to understand the situation Bronte is thrust in. Cannot wait to read book two.

This book was just...disappointing. So much reliance on YA cliches, and so little fleshing out the details to make them interesting. I needed so much more worldbuilding--you can't set up a sci-fi premise like "the stars are dying and the world is turning dark" and not shore it up with more details throughout the book. The animals/natural life should be responding way more to the increasing darkness. I know, that's not really Bloom's concern, but still.
Bloom's concern is school life and all the drama that comes from adolescence. Having been a high school teacher, there would have been way more structure around Bron given all of her illnesses--the school wouldn't have risked liability that way. At the least, I'm sure she would have had a tutor for home instruction given the spottiness of her attendance. Anyway, if the focus is on the romance, I at least need to find that believable, and I just didn't. Maybe because I hate the "I've watched you forever and fallen deeply in love with you" trope since it always plays out with creepy age differences (Twilight, The Time Traveler's Wife), and it does again here.
I also found it so odd that for all the emphasis on Bron's mother overreacting to her illness, she was such an empty space in the story itself. I was half convinced Aaron had killed her and that was one of the secrets he was hiding. (Oh yeah, I also saw the Aaron is the hunter thing coming a mile away too.)
I will give Bloom props for the "oh, your mortal enemy is also your twin sister, and we've Harry Pottered it so only one of you can live" twist--I didn't anticipate that. But I don't know if that makes the whole story worth it.

It was the way his words made my insides liquefy and my legs wobble like under-set jelly. I couldn't afford to have wobbling legs - I struggled enough when they were stable.
Gravity got off on a strong foot. We meet Bronte, whose body has been giving up on her since her sixteenth birthday and no ones can figure out why. Sure, there was a stereotypical mean girl, but I could shrug and move on. And we meet Nick, a mysterious guy who doesn't want to tell her anything. Every now and then we get a glimpse from his POV, and there's a lot of talking about how she can't be the right girl (though we have no idea for what). At this point, I was actually intrigued!
Unfortunately, after that, things fell apart. The insta-love (and the added love triangle in the latter half) completely obfuscates any part of the mythology which is ACTUALLY INTERESTING. Even if I did want to spoil it for you, I couldn't, because the world-building is only given in snippets and a huge part of it is in a fade to black.
Recommend if: You're looking for a star-crossed romance with dashes of mythology.
Avoid if: You expect an 'urban fantasy', as the promo promises; this is not that.

A quick, captivating YA read
I've started many YA books and not finished them because the teen angst and immature romance was beyond grating and unrelatable, but Gravity was a story I wanted to read and find out what happened with the characters and the world - to the extent that I purchased the two following books immediately after finishing. There was little angst (maybe that's an American YA feature?), and the affection felt natural and almost never creepy.
Bronte was in many parts an original character and the "supporting" characters carried their share of the story, rounding it out nicely.
The dialogue, while realistic but not in an annoying way, felt off at times, and I was confused a bit by the number of sentences that ended in question marks. There were also the occasional grammar or spelling mistake but I can overlook those when the rest of the book holds up, which this one did.
I have a pet peeve about special snowflake characters with grey or violet eyes, but Nick's purple eyes made sense in the end. :)
I would say anyone 13 and up would enjoy Gravity - but be ready to want the sequel!

I really hope GRAVITY turns into a series! This is my first A.B. Bloom book, and I enjoyed reading it. Her writing style is awesome, the way she's built each character throughout the storyline is spectacularly done. I canNOT wait to read more.

It was my first read from this author and also my first ever Paranormal read! And I have to say I actually quite enjoyed reading it. I loved the writing and how the story developed. It definitely is worth a read and not like any story I've read before. I hope a second one will come out 'cuz I actually didn't really understand the ending but it didn't make the story any less good for me! I loved the relationship between Bronte and Nick. That was one of the storylines that really spoke to me. I loved this book and it's definitely a 5 star read for me!

I only read this because I had nothing else to read. Boy, was it awful! First of all, the over abundance of typos was terrible. Seriously, get an editor. If you have one already, fire him! Second, I felt like she ripped out aspects of several popular YA series and tried to mess them all together. It didn-t work. And third, LEARN SOME SCIENCE!!! The sun and stars are not opposing entities; THE SUN IS A STAR. And what's the crap about stars getting their power/energy from moon beams?!? Do you know what a moon beam is? Moon beams are reflected sunlight; yep, light from a star, not the other way around. And lastly, I knew going in that this was the first book in a series, but I hate when the book stops in the middle of a major scene, all "To Be Continued....". That's crap. If the book were any good, it wouldn't have to end like that in order for a reader to consider continuing the series.

Bronte Bell has problems. She´s a 16 year old highschool student and her body gets weaker and weaker. And then she starts to see a mysterious boy, who nobody else can see. Is she crazy? Maybe, maybe not.
Bronto doesn´t know what happens anymore. She discovers she has new strong energies.
I really, really loved the start of this series. I read Gravity in one sitting, I couldn´t put it down.
The story is great, I love the writing and the characters.
I give 5 stars and can´t wait to read the next installment.

I liked it to begin with. The author had me hooked and I wanted to know what would happen next but I found that the author tended to repeat something that happened at the beginning a few times and it really got frustrating. Once we finally got to the important part I lost interest. I believe it was because she took to long to get to the point.
As for grammer I really didn't notice anything but then I again unless it is really bad I don't notice it.
This book is not for me but it might be for others.

I recieved a copy of Gravity by the Author for an Honest review.
Now this was kinda a werid paranormal book. It caught my interest but some of it didnt fit. Like the whole coffee thing? Why drink it if it bothers you? but yet, you have a cup a page later.werid... but anywho's the writing was good and the story was good.
It did remind me of so many other YA books I have read in the past.
All and all a good book.

This book is just absolutely wonderful! It is such a beautiful story and I didn't want to put it down. It is written in such a way that you flow through the story like you are flying gracefully through a star lit sky. I adore all the characters but especially Nick and Bronte who meet in such unusual circumstances. I'm so excited that I can go straight in to the next book as I can't wait to find out what happens next!

I read a lot of ya paranormal and this is not a concept I have come across before none the less it was a captivating read.
You can connect with the main characters and follow their journey through the unknown discovering it along with them.
There are many twists and turns that keep you guessing throughout all the way to the end of the 3rd book.

I really enjoyed this book, to the point that it may have warranted 5 stars were it not for the fact that this is part of a serial, NOT a series. Although I have read all 3 books now not one of them could stand alone - each of the first two end abruptly with zero resolution of even a minor plot.
The first two books were good, the third was written in a more confusing manner and was just not as enjoyable though it does have a fully resolved ending.

This is an awesome YA fantasy story. It is a pretty clean read and excellent for young and old alike. Gravity is very well written and easy to follow. The characters, for me, we're pretty likable. I loved hearing what Bronte really thought and felt while reading what she was thinking in her head. The story was very interesting and original. Some of it was a bit predictable, but the twists that were in the story made up for it. This book does have a cliffhanger so if you hate those you should probably wait for book 3 and read all of them. I really enjoyed this book and am excited to check out more books by Anna Bloom.

What an amazing story. I read this book in one sitting, riveted from start to finish. Anna Bloom has done an all round brilliant job, from the detailed and fully developed characters, to the intricately woven plot. This book was a pleasure to read, and I started reading the next book as soon as I was finished. Gravity is a MUST READ for fans of paranormal romance!

Good premise but wordy for the storyline. This stopped right in the middle of the book. I couldn't even call it a cliffhanger, I felt like it was an abrupt stop to the story. I can't help but feel like the author was just drawing this into a longer series when it could have fit better in one of two books. Disappointing and I'm not going to play the game and buy the rest of the books.

I have never read a book in this genre before so I thought I would give it a try. And I actually surprised myself and really liked it. At first I had a little trouble following the storyline because I am not used to reading this kind of book but once I really started reading it. It wasn't hard at all. It kept my interest very well. I would recommend this book to anyone.
