This is the latest novella in this series I've read, and each on I rated 3-4 stars more 4's then 3. I'm not going to keep reviewing them, you can read the 1st 10 to see what I thought or you can download the first one for free on Amazon I really recommend you do that if you like witch stories or funny British humor.
Lovely fun cozy mystery. Great for having a good break from all the craziness in the real world. I do hope eventually that Jill becomes nicer and less selfish.
Sadly, I wanted to really like this series, and had hope for the characters, but after so many books, I would hope some maturity would have happened with the characters. The twins are especially annoying and the main character has no real backbone. Ok for beginning of a series, but it so far in…
Was OK, but not as amusing as previous. Seemed like lots got introduced, but only a couple were resolved in the story. Oh well - still funny fluff for the most part.
In this one, Jill is having a recurring nightmare. A red headed man is trying to warn her of danger... She also learns of CASS, a school for witches that is kind of like Hogwarts. Daze went there. They want her to speak about being a human. The school is located in the northern corner of Candlefield where dragons and other dangerous creatures live. Also in this one, Luther almost dies. Someone is poisoning people in their water and we find out that its Jill's old accountant killing other accountants. Also, the lead anchorwoman on Wool TV gets poisoned but its by her old photographer. Jill solves all of these cases without the help of Lee O Reilly (Jack's cop replacement). Her and Jack are still living together and doing well. He does not know she's a witch of course. She wins a years supply of custard creams in this one, only to find out it's hardly enough in vouchers to last her a month! Cute book, I'm excited for the next.

Jill has a series of nightmares with different people she likes or loves. Someone she knows wants a job as a Grim Reaper and someone else has an enchanted lawn mower. She also has another Levels Competition coming up.
This is basically a no-win scenario for her. Her reputation precedes her so if she wins people can say it wasn't a fair win she since is so powerful but, on the other hand, if she loses people can say her reputation as a powerful witch is not deserved. So no matter what she does she will basically lose in the eyes of the public.
There's a broadcaster that dies, Winky is having trouble with Bella, there's two evil people working at the cafe, Betty stole some of Norman's bottle caps and her grandmother is taken in for questioning.
There is one really funny thing going on with Winky and hats and it's probably the most humorous thing that's happened in any of the books.
Would give this a 0 star rating if I could. Trying to go through my TBR on audible and started this, forgot how much I LOATHE the characters at this point in this series. The twins fight for no reason whatsoever and are childish toddlers in adult bodies, their mother is similarly childish when she didn’t start off that way, the main character (I’ve even forgotten her name) is a pushover and also a bad decision-maker with no justification one way or the other. She also complains about EVERYTHING. Her sister is awful, her boyfriend is meh, and by now the mysteries seem forced. The first few books in this series were okay but none of the characters are growing, and if you’re going to see the same characters for 15+ books, there should be SOME change, one way or another! DNF-d at ~5%.
And entertaining witchy cozy mystery urban fantasy series. A private investigator who finds out she’s a witch as well as that she has family in the supernatural world. She solves crimes in the Mandane human world as well as others in the supernatural world. She must straddle the two different worlds and two different parts of her family half is supernatural and the other is human. Follow along as she learns more more about how to be a witch and stumbles across plenty of mystery and Mayham. Check them out
Since I'm part of Kindle Unlimited I can read these short books like it's free. Not worth money. Cute short story but reminds me of the radio serials my grandma told me about. At 16 books Jill's life story is dragging along. Only redeeming because it's a short read when I'm getting an infusion for a few hours and can finish the whole book.
Jill, the new witch P.I. is having another bout of crazy problems. Plus her policeman boyfriend is out of town on a course. Grandmother is going to put a spell on a neighbouring shop owner, the twins are losing customers, but money is coming in and sister Kathy is a suspect in a murder.
While this episode appeared tamer than in the past Jill is still on form and seems to be standing up for herself a bit. Proving her sister isn't a murderer is one of the easier things for Jill to worry over. I have a feeling the bad dreams will culminate in something horrendous over the next few books.
This series is so much fun! Jill Gooder and her recurring cast of characters provide tons of humor, some intrigue and mini mysteries to solve in each book. New characters are introduced as well, each with their own particular quirks! If you are looking for a snarky quick read, I highly recommend the Witch P.I. Mystery series.
Not an overly exciting murder book, but I really enjoyed it. This is like no series I have ever read before. There is a lot going on throughout the book, but not action packed. This is just a really fun series to read, and with 43 books in the series; I have a long way to go. It's a feel good, fun series to read. I am really enjoying it.
Kathy is a suspect in a strange murder, while Jill is dealing with accountant issues and boring people. A recurring nightmare is only making things harder. A great installment!
The characters in this series are precious! I have no idea what custard creams are, but I now MUST try some. Much better than anything on the media. Delighted to have discovered the Witch PI series this summer!
In this book, Jill solves a couple of murders, Winky goes fishing and Jill gets a prize. Meanwhile, Pearl and Amber come up with a new gimmick to advertise Cuppy C. Plus, we are left with a little mystery that Jill has yet to solve. Enjoy.
I so totally got stuck on this series!! It's funny and easy to read. Lots of snarky, wisecracks. Characters names are too much, lol! This is number 15, and I'm going on to the next one. Awesome!
Absolutely wonderful characters that interact with each other beautiful! Fabulous plot twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I highly recommend this series.
I continue to enjoy the situations Jill finds herself encountering and her creative resolutions. I do hope she eventually learns the folly of her lying when confronted, so far it has always gone south.
I just love these books, although I’m noticing more and more similarities to Harry Potter. I like to read them in between “real books.” I mean no offense to Ms. Abbott. I just mean that they are light and humorous. I’m in for the long haul.
I stumbled upon these books when I was looking for something fun to read on my cruise. Book one through 15 so far we’re so funny and great. I love reading these books.
So many exciting things happened in this book. Relationships get stronger, and some mysteries are still not solved. What awaits our family in the next book?
Light reading. Characters are unique and you are quickly drawn into this alternate world where magic is real. This is a fun series for an escape from reality.
