The Kitchen Witch Series, The Halloween Spell, Book 6, by Morgana Best.
I received a free copy of this book via author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Amelia gets a visitor, Selena, a friend of her aunt who asked her to do a spell for her, granting her a wish in Halloween. As Amelia is granting the wish the cupcakes she was baking get burned and she clears the smoke opening the windows and doors and the spell she was doing gets mixed with the smoke and goes over the entire town, getting everybody "sugarly spelled".
But at the same time a man gets poisoned, so Amelia and her friends have to solve the murder and find who the killer is.
I have laughed so hard while reading about Camino and Ruprecht as well as reading about the wigs for born bald babies! I loved to know about Amelia's grand parents and love the way the story developed.
This is a funny, cozy and great story and an excellent serie.

Cursed

When is she going to figure out that she is cursed to always mess up her cooking? That or else she never pays attention to her cooking so that all the stupid stuff happens like when she left the plastic on the pizza she cooked. Also when did they start using plastic under the pizza instead of cardboard? But that happened in the previous book. I hate baking myself but I'm nowhere near as bad as her. Yes I have burned pizza but not so bad that it couldn't be eaten and one of my pumpkin pies wasn't fully cooked. Either she is cursed or so dumb to pay attention to what she is doing.

I really love this series and this book was no exception. A woman arrives on Amelia’s doorstep, claiming Amelia’s departed Aunt Angelica did a spell for her sister every Halloween and this year the sister let her come. She insists that Amelia do a love spell for her but instead Amelia does a happy spell. When the woman's lover turns up dead Amelia is worried she caused it.

I love Amelia and her friends and this book was quick paced and fun. The story line was so well writen but I missed seeing as much of Alder (Amelia's love interest). I love Camino and her onesies and the rest of the cast characters who all bond and work well together.

This is my favorite book in the Kitchen Witch series so far. Amelia's spell goes out of control and affects the whole town, resulting in a strange series of eulogies at the funeral of the murder victim, lots of business for her cupcake shop, and terrible investigating by the local detectives, although that was fun to read about. We also learn a bit more about her mysterious house and why it often has a mind of its own.

I have read most of Morgana Best's series. At least some. This is my favorite one. This book was a bit of a letdown in that it was a bit silly to me. I finished it and will read number 7 and hope for the best!

I like the series but there is something a little like Agatha Christie in that they are all very similar plots but short and fun to read. None of these books are more than novellas.

I really enjoy this books! They are fast paced stories with a little mystery to solve. In this particular case Amelia made a spell for a lady and the spell goes wrong . It was a nice read. I will definitely read the next one.

Amelia is interrupted by a woman claiming her family is owed a spell by Amelia's grandmother, due to a long ago spell favor. What she requests is a love spell, and Amelia is totally against love spells and will not do one. She will however, do a spell that encourages happiness and general good feelings so that the recipient will feel more inclined to like this woman. What happens next is typical Angela disaster. She casts the spell, forgotten cupcakes set off the smoke alarms, and Amelia runs from the circle to the kitchen and opens the oven. Smoke goes everywhere and carries the spell on the wind to the entire town. Disaster is more than hockey puck cupcakes this time! Now everyone is being nice to everybody and Amelia finds it sickening. The woman requesting the spell is satisfied because the man she wants to attract immediately calls her and invites her to meet him for lunch. However, within moments he is dead at the restaurant-a victim of apparent poisoning. Amelia feels responsible for his murder believing it was indirectly caused by her wayward spell, and she is determined to find the killer.

This books has some funny moments as we see the townspeople reactions to the spell. The funeral with clapping and laughter is highlighted by funny eulogies. Another funny part was the people at the cupcake shop over-buying and over-paying for their goodies, with Amelia emptying the tip jar 5 times in 50 minutes! But besides all the fun, Amelia and Thyme investigate and come up with good suspects, good clues, and good investigation skills. However, there is some redundancy and repetition between the two investigators. It also seemed that Amelia forgot a lot of things they discussed. However the conclusion was good in many ways. Not only was the murder mystery solved, but the house mystery was solved as well. And best of all AIden and Amelia are progressing nicely in their relationship.

This is a fun series, best read in order. This doesn't happen to be my favorite of the series, but it was still very enjoyable.

This series could be subtitled *The Witch Who Couldn't Spell Straight*! And you definitely don't want to be having a beverage while reading unless you are Okay with snorting it through your nose as you suddenly start laughing!
In this book, Amelia is uncomfortably coerced into casting a spell which, unfortunately, wafts out the door and into the whole town. This has some really hysterical results, and a murder also happens, for which Amelia blames herself. Her delightful friends add to everything, and her almost boyfriend is away. No spoilers, you wouldn't believe them anyway! Just enjoy this cozy and become as addicted as the rest of Morgana's followers.

The Kitchen Witch Series

Take a lady who realizes she suddenly has no home, job, or relatives to rely on and gets an unexpected windfall. A haunted house, two cats and a cupcake business, only problem she can't bake without burning something or setting it on fire. She finds out why, while making some new friends. Hilarious, entertaining and really good reads. This one will leave you waiting for the next in the series!

Halloween fun

Amelia Spelled may not be a great baker but she has become a good investigator. She is more comfortable with being a witch and is learning to use her grandmother's Book of Shadows.
I enjoyed the background story about her house. I look forward to the next book. I like well written cozy mysteries with engaging characters. This series has it. Highly recommend.

Good read

The Kitchen Witch Series by Morgana Best is a refreshing get away from a lot of highly over sexual books coming out. Amelia and her Coven are becoming the sleuths in their Town when Amelia seems to keep attracting murders. I need the next one.
