He was a one night stand that I wanted to last a lifetime. The tattoos, shaggy hair and massive shoulders were enough to make me quiver at the knees. He touched me, every part of me. He savored the haven between my legs in a way that convinced me that there was a God - Hallelujah!
We’d known each other for one night and he’d been inside of me more times than I could count and now five years later, it appeared he had done pretty damn well for himself. Quarterback for one of the best teams in the biz. The sight of him was enough to make me wet in places I thought I’d forgotten.
Now he's my patient. My career is going to be damned! What's a girl to do?

I really found this to book to be very good, and interesting. The heat and chemistry that Brett and Erica shared was immediate. They met up at a party where they ended up in bed together and the sex was freaking fantastic. Erica thought all was going great when she woke up, found herself alone so she goes looking for Brett. She ends up finding him with another woman and she immediately leaves without saying a word, devastated. He calls her , but she refuses to speak to him. Fast forward 5 years, Brett is a well-known professional football player while Erica is in sports medicine. Brett is hurt & is sent to a physical therapist. Well guess who his physical therapist is? Erica. She is intent on keeping things professional but it doesn’t work out that way and soon they are back in the sack. But just as soon as that happens, that same woman from the past makes an appearance –is there still something going on or is it just a Huge misunderstanding? Erica is so confused by everything which leads to them taking time apart from each other. Erica is miserable while Brett is upset that she doesn’t trust. What I loved about this story is everything about their relationship feels real. Their relationship issues come off as real and I was totally engrossed in this story. Brett and Erica are two characters that I wanted to know how they ended up and was rooting for both of them. There was some great supporting characters (Jordan, Adele) who I hope get their own story. Do Brett and Erica get their HEA? You have to read this book to find out. I loved the whole book and the ending was perfect and just how this story should have ended.
My rating: 4.8 stars ***** **I was given an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review***
My favorite characters in this story would of course have to be the main lead male and female characters of Brett and Erica. Their descriptions were wonderful to imagine. They both go together so well, along with their in and outs of their "relationship" if you can call it that! I also loved the supporting character of Adele! That woman and her spunk, perfect cousin and wingwoman! I would love to read more about Adele and maybe her story with Josh whats his name, and Jenny and Colin. I enjoyed reading this sports romance, I wasn't sure if I would like a sports romance but have to say I was not disappointed. The flow of the story was well written. I even enjoyed the occasional uh oh that made me question Brett and side with Erica. If your looking for a nice sweet interesting sports romance, give this book a try, you won't be disappointed.
What didn't work for me: 1) The writing. It wasn't good. Not only did it need another edit (think misspellings, misused words, typos, and lack of punctuation), but the narrative was boring. There was a lot of telling, not a lot of showing, and I didn't like it. 2) The insta-love. I believe in strong connections, but the one between these MCs wasn't compelling. 3) The TSTL heroine. She was an idiot. Honestly. I don't understand why the H still wanted her after all of her insecurities. 4) None of the characters were well developed. 5) The ending was too abrupt. 6) All the secondary characters just seemed like fodder for the next books of a series.
It was a good book but not great. No epilogue so it made me give it a 3 stars ~
I start to like the couple cause their chemistry are so good and both are so into each other after they meet again but just like that, the author do it like that. No epilogue, only both hero and heroine saying i love you. :’)
- NO CHEATING
- IT HAS SEPARATION AND BOTH HAVE BEEN WITH OTHERS
- IT WAS A ONE NIGHT STAND and both not officially dated. The hero wanted to date the heroine but the heroine was miss-understood of something and take off. The hero was busy and was childish too so he didn’t chase her sooo bad like the heroine wanted to. THIS IS ALSO MADE ME GIVE IT 3 STARS.
- HAPPY ENDING only saying i love you after they meet again and yeah just that
For those of you who don't love "sports" themed romances, fear not, this one does not drone on about downs or pucks or home runs etc. The hero happens to be a hotshot athlete, who comes along with the requisite hottie friends/teammate, but that's about as deep as it gets into football.
Erica and Brett had smoking hot chemistry from the moment they met and despite incorrect assumptions and stubbornness blocking their way for over five years, fate draws them back together and well ... There's a HEA. :)
Standalone novel. HEA. A lot steamy. A little sporty. Love this author - after reading a few of her books now, she's been added on to my One Click list!
Hot and steamy from the very beginning! Brett is the story of Brett and Erica who meet up - innocently enough - at a party, and within hours are having flaming wild sex that goes on all night long. Ohhh yeahhh! The next morning Erica catches Brett with some girl hanging off of him. Without stopping to ask any questions, nut punch someone (or slap a b!tch down) Erica just leaves. Say what?? OhNoSheDidnt. Girl just gathered up her things and left. When Brett realizes she is gone, he texts and calls her but Erica refuses to get in contact with him. Fast forward five years and Brett is a super star footballer with an injury. Erica is a sports medicine therapist. (See where this is headed?) Erica tries her best to resist the pull that Brett has on her, but even after all these years - they are like two magnets drawn together. I am not always the biggest fan of second chance stories but I can honestly say this one was good. Really good. I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that there wasnt a 'relationship' at the beginning of the story, just the one night that the characters spent together. But oh my, the heat that one night packed. BLAZING. I ended up loving Brett's character the most. He had a lot of depth and so much heart. He was very well written. Erica on the other hand... UGH to her. She was not my favorite. She had a lot of jealousy issues and our personalities clashed. I had to remind myself that she was a book character - not a real person. In the author's defense though, she too was a very well developed character, I just didnt like her, so that in no way takes away from my review of this book. This is one of my favorite (if not THE favorite) Kylie Walker book to date. I am excited and hopeful that Adele gets a book of her own!
I love Brett! It's sweet and sexy. Brett and Erica had a hot one night stand that ended the next morning when Erica thought she saw him all over another woman the next morning so she bailed on him and refused to answer his texts and calls afterward. 5 years later she finds out her new patient is Brett and she has to help him recover from a potentially career ending injury. The attraction between the 2 is just as strong as it was 5 years before, and Brett is determined to find out why she left without a word.
The only thing I didn't like about Brett is that if Erica had just bothered to talk to him both times she walked out on him, then everything could have been avoided. But, instead she bailed like a jealous, immature little girl and caused a lot of unnecessary drama and wasted 5 years that they could have been together.
Brett and Erica meet at a party at his house. They end up in bed within a short time and go at it multiple times. The next morning she wanders the house looking for him and finds him with some other girl. Erica sneaks out and never looks back. He texts and calls a few times but his calls and messages go unanswered.
Five years later, Brett ends up with an injury and when his physical therapist walks in....he sees her! They are both just as attracted to eachother as they were 5 years prior. Erica tries her hardest to keep her distance and keep it strictly professional. She ends up spending another night with Brett only to see a text on his phone the next morning from Ana and the memories of what he did all those years ago come rushing back. Is Brett the womanizing football star she thinks he is or is there another misunderstanding? Great book and this author is quickly becoming one of my "go-to, must read" authors.
BRETT is an awesome book about second chances and misunderstandings. I LOVE this book! The characters are fun, smart and sexy.
Erica and Brett first meet at a Fourth of July picnic and have an instant, passionate connection! The steamy, hot sex jumps right off the pages as they spend an amazing night together. The next morning Erica finds herself alone and goes in search of Brett. When she finds him she immediately misjudges the situation and doesn't wait for an explanation. Erica leaves heartbroken. Devastated. Brett reaches out to her several times, but she refuses to respond.
Five years later their paths cross again. Brett is an extremely well known quarterback and Erica is a highly successful sports medicine physical therapist. Erica is given the opportunity of a lifetime to relocate to San Diego. Bretton is injured and SURPRISE..... Guess who is his therapist! Erica!! And the sparks are hot as ever!
Brett is determined to find out what happened years ago after the best night he had ever had. Erica is just as determined to keep their reunion professional. The chemistry and passion was unstoppable.
Another misunderstanding and Erica's jealousy could ruin everything between them. Their charming romance is off the charts.

Actual Rating: 4.20
I thought this was a really good sports romance. I was so into it seeing how I am going to school for sports medicine and live in Vegas, so I had lots in common with Erica. This book was also totally hot and the sexual tension between Erica and Brett and intense and super hot. I liked that we got to know a lot about each character even though it jumps five years into the future. I found I really liked Brett and he had been through a lot, but was still a good and genuine person. He still wanted Erica after all the time spent apart. I enjoyed some of the football talk and some look at actual physical therapy sessions. I will say that Erica was frustrating to me because she tended to jump to too many conclusions and ran away due to her negative assumptions. I found her to be very bitchy and jealous/insecure, despite her being a strong character. That's really the only think I didn't like other than the fact that I was left hangin on Adele and Josh.
I definitely recommend this book if your looking for a steamy sports romance and for lovers of football. This has to be my top favorite Kylie book.
Steamy, sexy book. Brett wanted to be a pro-football player as a child. Erica wanted to work in Sports Medicine since she was a young girl. Brett and Erica met at a 4th of July shindig held at Brett's family's home. They were instantly attracted to each other and spent the night together where they set off their own bodily fireworks. The next morning, Erica saw him talking to a bombshell girl, who had herself draped all over Brett. Erica fled the house without getting an explanation. Brett tried and tried to text and call her; she finally blocked him on her phone.
Five years later, Brett is a successful football player. Angela herself is a Sports Medicine Physical Therapist. She is quite successful and her boss offered a chance of a lifetime to move to California and continue her work. And, who did she meet there (as a client)? No other than Brett himself. His coach specifically asked for Erica to be his therapist, not knowing there was history between she and Brett.
Erica tries to keep the relationship professional, while going crazy every time she was near him. Brett felt the same way and was determined he was going to be with Erica. Brett had never committed to one woman until Erica came into his life.
I recommend reading Brett to see what happens between them.
I read this book through Kindle Unlimited. Its a real short read but the writing is very good. Its told from alternating pov's. I have read other books by this author that are equally good.
Erica meets Brett when she goes to a party at his house. They hit it off immediately and end up spending most of the party up in his room in bed. The next morning when she wakes up he isn't in the room, she goes downstairs and see's him being kissed by another girl and he taking her into another room. She feels she has been played so she leaves and refuses to take his calls or texts.
5 years later Erica gets a new position as a physical therapist in a new city, for the football team that Brett plays for. He gets her to tell him why she left and he explains what really happened. She continues to jump to conclusions regarding several other things in his life and always continues to run away rather than find out the truth. This pretty much slaps her in the face in the end but Brett continues to forgive her. The book ends of them telling each other they are falling in love with each other so the reader assumes they get a HEA. I am hoping for future books on Erica's friends as a lot about them was left unanswered.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book I like how this author gets better with every book she writes and I like sports stories. This is Brett and Erica's story, they met at a party and had a one night stand she left and didn't look back. Now five years later Brett is a quarterback and Erica is a physical therapist.Brett has hurt his knee and needs therapy,so who is the therapist! Erica is somewhat insecure and doesn't trust easily,Brett is one that what you see is what you get, well can the therapist and the quarterback get through their issues? It's well worth the read to find out!! I received an ARC for my honest review.
Brett is your typical rich jock. Erika is your typical independent no nonsense female. The problem? Erika makes assumptions that make one amazing night of sex turn into a night of regrets. I truly enjoyed seeing how Erika develops into a strong woman but allows us to see her also grow up and learns to not assume all is what it seems. Love it.
Brett and Erika meet at a 4th of July party and have an instant connection. After their one night together, a misunderstanding leads them to not speak again. Five years later, they have both achieved success in their respective careers. Brett is a professional football player and Erika is in sports medicine. The two reconnect in a professional environment and the attraction is still there. Erika tries to hold off her attraction to Brett, but he manages to break down her walls. Another misunderstanding leads to more time apart, until Erica realizes that she needs to learn to trust Brett for their relationship to work. Great story with well-developed characters and a HEA. I love a sports romance and this was a great read. Kylie Walker is one of my favorite authors and she did an outstanding job with this one! I received an ARC for an honest review.
Misunderstandings and second chances, Brett and Erica met at a party and had off the charts sex. But the morning after she catches Brett with another woman. She doesn't stay around to confront Brett and won't take calls from him. He has no idea what happened. Fast forward 5 years and Brett is a professional football player and Erica is a Sports Therapist. She is offered a position in San Diego on a trial and if the job is agreeable with her she will become permanent. It just so happens that the team she will be working for is the same one that Brett is playing for. The meet again after Brett suffers an injury to his leg trying to get people out of the way of a run away car. This story has steamy sex, one jealous sports therapist who jumps to conclusions of her own creating misunderstandings between her and Brett.
This is a story that any girl would dream about. Brett is a football player in college and Erica is a high school graduate trying to find her way in the world. One night of passion between these two leaves a lasting impression. They parted ways without saying a word.
Fast forward 5 years. Their paths cross, Brett is a start quarterback and Erica is in sports medicine working with pro athletes. Low and behold their paths cross.
This is a great story to read and was a nice change of pace. Even though I read the book in one sitting the story held my interested and made me think back to my younger years and the hopes I had for my love life. Needless to say it didn’t happen.
Wow, loved this story! One hot night, one misunderstanding, passion, intense story between two people with great chemistry, attraction. Five years later they meet again, their careers bring them together, or is it fate! ❤️ great story, loved, loved this story!!!
I love second chance books and I absolutely love Brett and Erica's love story.
Brett being a star quarterback, a great one at that likes what he sees when Erica shows up in a party, Erica, the heroin who knows what she wants to be when she grows up (I love her personality). Hooks up, gets into a misunderstanding. Woman leaves said party. and Meets again 5 years later.
It was fun, witty, and hot! The instant attraction they felt when it happened happens again even after 5 years later. A Novella I enjoyed very much!
I love all the extra characters in the book. Is it possible to request Adele's story?
I love a good sports Romance. Erica is a strong female character. She just had a bad habit of always jumping to conclusions as far as Brett goes. He was totally misunderstood and I loved his character.
The story line was great but the ending was too abrupt. There was closure but I felt like it needed a little more story to it.
Bonus book - Scarred, Part One FANTASTIC! It was so good that I had to go by the complete series.
Received a copy in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed is my own.
Overall, I'd give this book 3.5 stars. I really enjoyed the storyline, even if I thought Erica was a little too dramatic at times. The story was sweet - not too much outside drama really. Brett was adorable and really pursued Erica from the beginning. It gets annoying when the guy in some books are jerks, but they have theoretical redeeming qualities that make it okay. That wasn't the case here.
What really bothered me about this book was that it. just. ended! Not really a cliffhanger ending, but I still have so many questions that weren't addressed. If I hadn't been using my kindle, I would have thought that somebody had ripped out the last few chapters or at least the epilogue.
Brett was a good book and a quick read. Once you get started reading, you won't want to put it down. Erica was a well developed character, but Brett was a bit more of a mystery. We find out more about him as the story goes on, but I never really had a solid connection with him. The writing is solid and the story line is good. Well worth your time to read. I can see a series starting with stories about the teammates and Erica's friends. I would really like to see a story about her brother.
I am totally swoon Brett. The instant attraction that him & Erica share is intense. I actually loved this book but I do feel that it needed a glimpse into the future. I absolutely LOVE epilogues and when a book just ends it definitely disappoints me. Like did they get their crap together and make it? I mean we definitely got the impression that that is what happens but an epilogue would have been nice to tie it all together.
SCARRED IS ONE AMAZING SERIES so even if this book left you a little disappointed I PROMISE Scarred will not disappoint!!!
I received a copy of this book for my honest opinion and I have to say this is one amazing book I love the story line and charcters and OMG I have to say this book had me hooked from cover to cover. The author is so awesome I love her writing style she keeps you on the edge of your seat. Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity to read and review your amazing books. I gave this book five stars and it's really needs a ten.
I read this book in one day... I'm a bookworm. ;) I liked the book, but at times I felt that Brett didn't try hard enough or that Erica was too quick to judge. But as we learn a bit more history about the characters, I begin to see why/how they made the choices they made and walked away/moved away from those. I would have liked more interactions between Erica/Brett, but overall it was a good book. I love the books Kylie writes.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Kylie Walker gives us an awesome, well-written story filled with drama, mystery, suspense, jealousy, trust issues, fate, second chances, great characters that you can't help but love, off the charts chemistry, heartache, which all leads to love and a HEA.
An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review.
Very enjoyable story! The chemistry between Brett and Erica is off the charts! But talk about misunderstandings! They have their share! A great storyline with awesome characters who I wouldn't mind reading more about! Highly recommend!!
It's a simple love story for Brett and Erica but not really. He's crazy about her and she can't stop thinking about the past. He just needs another chance. I just want to push her to him!
