I read the first installment while living in LA and this second installment is just as great even though I no longer live there. I especially like that there are some previously unpublished photos. Also, the author clearly feels passionately about this and you can tell how much research went into it so I appreciate both of those things. As for the content, it is quite interesting. I learned things I didn't know and it's fascinating to see how things have changed. There were so many deaths by poison and jumping off the roof, and also elevator shafts! I recommend this book to anyone who likes ghost stories or murder mysteries, as well as people in the LA area who might like to visit the places talked about in the book.
I really enjoyed this book! The author was kind enough to send a copy in exchange for a review. I had read the first one so I was looking forward to this one. It did not disappoint. Each entry is short enough that you can read 1-2 if you are short on time or more if you have a whole night to settle in. The title may seem a little misleading since it is not very heavy in the 'ghost stories". It does have a lot of interesting stories about murders and deaths that have occurred at the different locations around LA and the surrounding areas. I look forward to a Gourmet Ghost 3 and would love to see different cities featured someday. (Maybe NYC?)
