Project Old Spirits: Are We the Chosen Ones?

Rate this book
The year is 2156. Phyllis Randolph, a celebrated CONA (Confederation of North America) project manager, is struggling to achieve tenure at a prestigious university when her former employer, the Center for Disease Control, contacts her. The CDC needs her to lead a time-critical project to combat the return of a highly infectious disease re-emerging in Alantia. In this Caribbean mountain paradise, the prevailing belief is that all forms of life, including deadly vectors, have a right to live. Alantia has allowed its rainforest to flourish unchecked, and demands that its citizens depend on their natural immunities in facing this deadly disease. But the disease will spread beyond Alantia as it had thirty years earlier. And a disastrous epidemic will block CONA from leadership of the New World Union. There is very little time. Phyllis has one month to either find a cure, or an acceptable method of eradicating disease-carrying insects.
