New Orleans Vampires #2

I Want You To Want Me

Rate this book
Erika Todd moved to New Orleans because she needed a change - and, well, yes, because that's what her fortune teller said she would do. Not that she'd admit that to many people. But so many of the psychic's predictions - about her work, even finding that stray black cat - have already come true. Now all the lonely sculptor needs is to meet and fall in love with the prophesied dark-eyed prince.

Reclusive musician Vittorio Ridgewood has a new neighbour he's been trying to avoid. Sure, she's gorgeous, but she's coming on strong, and the last thing the 200 year-old vampire needs is to get involved with another mortal. Especially since several of his former human paramours have lately been turning up dead.

Sensing the relentless beauty needs someone to watch over her, Vittorio agrees to sit for a sculpture, and their attraction to one another quickly ignites. But is passion even this hot worth dying for?

"I Want You To Want Me" is book two in Kathy Love's vampire series following her earlier 'Fangs' series. Love's books have a healthy dose of humor combined with a bit of mystery and action to make for a very enjoyable read.

Erika is an artist who recently moved to New Orleans...because her fortune teller told her to. Yes, she fully believes in all that 'psychic mumbo jumbo' and she can't wait to meet the Prince her psychic has predicted for her.

Vittorio is trying to avoid his new neighbor. Not because she's not pretty...she's gorgeous; not because he's not attracted to her...he can't remember ever wanting a woman this badly; but because every woman he's cared about or helped keeps ending up dead...and he's very afraid it's his psycho lampir mother who's to blame. But whoever is stalking his women already knows about Erika, so surely the only logical thing for Vittorio to do is keep Erika close...really, really close!

Sexy, fun, and humorous...with demons, and werewolves, and vampires, oh my!

I WANT YOU TO WANT ME is a continuation of the story arc of two vampire (Lampir) half-brothers Renauldo (Ren) D’Antoni and Vittorio Ridgewood. In this story of Vittorio, he finds his soul mate in Erika Todd a sculptor.

Vittorio and Erika’s involvement starts out shaky and frustrating. But quickly turns into hot bunny sex 1/3 of the way through the book (ch. 12) and you get to read plenty of it evenly paced throughout the remainder of the book.

Trouble in the form of the brothers’ mother and Lampir creator, Orabella, rears her demented and possessive head. As she jealousy kills off all Vittorio’s lovers determined to have him all to herself and in a much more than parental way. And naturally she goes after Erika with the help of her demon lover, Maksim.

I consider the book a palatable piece of fluff. Not much in the way of plot but not boring either, and in the end you get your HEA

The backstory for the main characters comes out slowly in this book. I have to say that I was appalled and just generally grossed out by some of what is revealed!

It definitely makes it easier to understand Vittorio and why he is the way he is. I'm trying to do this without any spoilers lol...so not easy!

Let's just say that this book rocks! The sex scenes are awesome and plentiful and the storyline had me hooked from the start!

I love trying to figure out who will be in the next book as I'm reading. I have to say that I totally called the characters in book 3 early on in this book! hehe

I like the concept of lampirs as part of the vampiric family, and of course, this one is good-looking. Blonde is not my style and that may have thrown me off a bit. The end was a wee bit abrupt, and the heroine adjusted rather too quickly to be realistic. I enjoyed the book, but it wasn't quite as good as I expected it to be.

this book has some really funny moments. I love how miss love writes and how the book is easy to understand. I still think Ren is super funny. love it when he walks in on them and doesn't leave

I will say that this one had a lot more plot than the last. As in… it had a plot 🤣

And I like that the tension between Vittorio and Erika was kinda set up in the previous book: I always appreciate the kind of series where I don’t HAVE to read the previous books, but reading them enhances the book I’m reading.

The writing was… ok. Truthfully, I think it flowed better in the last book. I didn’t feel the heat and romance as much in this book as I dis the last. Plus the dialogue was a little weird sometimes.

And how she found out about him being a vampire was weird. And her reaction almost seemed rushed. I would have enjoyed a little more time than, say a few hours, for her to kind of come to terms with it.

But as a short steamy vampire romance novel? I liked it. Satisfies the itch, so to speak.

I absolutely loved this 5 star second in the series book. I love vampires, I love New Orleans so this book was perfect for me. I liked that it continued from book one in some ways. We met a lot of the same characters with two from book one taking the Main Character roles. We also were introduced to several new characters and some other paranormal beings. This was what I would call a paranormal mystery suspense. It was a great story and I found myself cringing on occasion or two and smiling on others. I am anxious to read the next book in this series and have no qualms about recommending this book to others although I would suggest they read book one first.

2nd book in the New Orleans Vampire series. I didn’t hate it and it was an enjoyable enough read, but it was nothing to write home about. This one had a little more substance than the first, but not enough to make it memorable. I’ll be reading the next one because I already have it on hand. It’s a quick and easy read and a good time filler.

I accidentally stumbled onto one of my granddaughter’s books. Vampires are not usually my thing but this was pretty good.

This story continues as Maggie's friend Erika moves to New Orleans as her fortune teller predicted. She is staying at Ren & Maggie's carriage house in one of the apartments as she tries to get her art career started. That instant chemistry between her and Ren's brother Vittorio from the last book heats up when he comes to stay in the apartment above her.

I have to give it to Erika for her determination, I don't think I would have put up with Vittorio's attitude in the beginning of the book. I did enjoy when he finally loosened up and let his true self show. Only then did I find him to be very sexy. This was an entertaining story that had some really good moments in it. Having Ren & Vittorio's mother in it answered many questions why these brothers really nessed up their relationships. She is a piece of work that I have to admit made me almost sick to my stomach. The new character, Maskim was very intriging and loved his addition to the story. He brought a dark sensuality and some humour. Look forward to reading more with him.

I think my only quibble with these stories is that I don't feel the idea of Lampir is truly explained to these women. It's only mentioned as a type of vampire and these women seem to for once not ask many questions about it. Both women are very direct and accepting of the term Lampir just doesn't set right as part of their character. But other than that point this book continues a good paced and enjoyably sexy read.

Needing a change, Erika has moved to New Orleans to be near her friend Maggie. Busy preparing for a show at a local gallery, she’s moved into one of Ren’s apartments. But after Ren & Maggie leave on a vacation, Erika discovers that Ren’s hunky brother Vittorio has moved in upstairs.

Vittorio doesn't have time for a romance, he’s busy trying to find out who’s been killing the women in his life. But he just can’t stay away from her especially when she wakes him up with horrible nightmares.

This story has a real horror feel to it. It’s not Stephen King scary, but not just a hot romance either. Orabella was just too creepy, so was her posing. She deserved what happens to her.

I know that Maksim is being introduced for the next book, but there seems to be more scenes with him than with Vittorio & Erika making their connection a little too shallow.

I like the descriptions of Erika’s sculpting as she prepares for her show. And I love the cat and by the way he acts, etc. I know he’s going to be important later.

Fave Scenes: 1) throwing the phone, Rice Krispie treats, Vittorio eating and the maid.

Second book in the series and this one follows on slightly after the other one ended.

Erica Todd moves into the apartment complex owned by her best friend's new husband and finds herself in a bit of a sticky situation. The man living in the room upstairs is gorgeous but rude and Erica can't help but think that he may be the "Dark Prince" her psychic warned her was coming into her life.

I liked this story. It was entertaining and cute. Very simple storyline to follow.

Good read. Paranormal set in New Orleans with an action oriented plot. This is a direct sequel to Any Way You Want It; the hero is the brother of Ren from Any Way and the heroine is the best friend of Maggie, the heroine of that book. Great villain - in the climactic confrontation heroine is thinking "It was like a nightmare, every horror movie, every V. C. Andrews novel rolled into one." A fairly accurate summation... I'm looking forward to the next one [whose hero is introduced in this book:].

Although order is certainly important here - having read the previous book is not necessary.

I Want You to Want Me is the second book from Love's 'Fangs' series. A humorous, sexy and romantic read that I enjoyed. I didn't read the first one, but I was able to read this one without any confusion, as it stands alone very well. The characters are developed rather quickly and the story is fast paced, with some mystery and a little suspense. Although it is a "vampire" book, Vittorio and his brother Ren are lampirs, and thus they only take humans energy and not their blood, so there is in fact no gore. Very much like the romance novels I enjoy, except with demons and psychotic lampir mothers.

I Want You To Want Me can be view as a sequel after Any Way You Want It still it doesn't have any major strings attached to the previous book, so you can just skip the first one is you want to.
Though I really did love Erika and Vittorio both like a characters and like a couple, still I have to admit that for me the first book was a lot better.
A fun, humoristic book from the start till the end, with some emotional moments in it of course and not to mention the smoking hot scenes.

This is the story of Vittorio (brother to Ren from this author's previous book). He falls in love with Erika who does not know that he is a vampire. However, her fortune teller has told her that he is her "prince".

An interesting book - I read it before the first one in the series and followed it fine, though there are references that you pick up if you have read the first one. A good read for a brain candy book - you certainly have to suspend belief quite often.

A mother's obsessive deluded romantic love for her son. Well, ewwww. Talk about eh "mother-in-law from hell".... An OK read. A little too much narrative with 3-4 pages dedicated to a single thought, but nothing a little page flipping won't resolve. I'll continue the series.

This was the book that wouldn't end. I was actually looking forward to reading Vittorio's story but this was just awful. It dragged on and on and was repetitive...ugh...not good.

Loved good read. These books are not listed as a series, but really they are. You should read them in order.
