At the age of eleven, Alaina was found wandering in the woods wearing nothing but a torn, bloodied dress and a pink oval stoned necklace. With no memory and no one stepping up to claim her, she became a ward of the state, moving from foster home to foster home, until finding a home at the all-girls’ boarding high school, New Ridge, at the age of fourteen.
A week before her nineteenth birthday, Alaina is ready to put the past behind her, and start living in the present. But her past is not done with her yet.
When the mysterious and oh-so-sexy Brady shows up looking for her, claiming she is the long-lost princess from the realm Nysa, the princess prophesied to save their kingdom from the evil tyrant Lord Wright, she is thrown into a world she could never have imagined to exist.
On the verge of being crowned queen, Alaina must decide whom and what to believe. Everyone around her assures her that she is, in fact, the heir to the throne and the one whom the prophecy is named after, even when everything inside of her screams that something is not right. But without her childhood memories, there is no way to be certain.
Not only is Alaina struggling with the truth about her past, she is being hunted by Lord Wright's most ruthless solider, Kakos, who will do anything to stop the prophecy from being fulfilled. With her life in danger and the fate of Nysa hanging in the balance, can Alaina come to terms with her past? And if so, will she survive long enough to see what the Gods have in store for her future?
As a lifetime reader, I always dreamed of becoming a writer. One day an idea popped in my head and then a story; one I couldn't help but write.
I love creating stories out of nothing. I have a vivid imagination that sometimes drives me crazy but is wonderful for storytelling!
Fantasy, paranormal and dystopia are my favorite genres to read and to write.
I was born and raised in South Texas, where I still live with my husband and two children.
When I'm not writing, I'm reading, watching my favorite TV shows (Walking Dead and Game of Thrones just to name a few) or dreaming about sitting on a beach somewhere.
Kindle Unlimited or 99c This was a really enjoyable read. I liked the characters and didn't find anything overdone. The writing was well done and the characters had depth and distinctive personalities. I'm looking forward to where this goes next.
The following novel is currently listed for early 2017.
I couldn't finish this book. The her was so annoying and immature. There was a lot of description of her changing clothes and wearing nothing or her underwear. Too immature for a 19 year old. I don't get how she could have forgotten her previous life when only 4 years have past. Not believable storyline. I could understand if she was like at 5 but at 14 the heroine shouldn't be forgetting her life as a princess. No explanation given why the heroine forgot. Then when it was time for her to returned she acted like she didn't believed the h. This was too much for me how combative she was to the h. Come on it only been 4 years. The idea of the story was good but the execution didn't work for me. I won be reading the next book given that I couldn't even get past chapter 4. If you don't mind immature heroine that has an unknown amnesia.
I enjoyed reading this story about a young woman trying to discover who she is. I hope to read the sequel.
I only gave it 4 stars because of the way the author had the more enlightened heroes of the story reveal that the Christian God is really Zeus and that the naive humans think there is only one God.
I understand the concept of embellishing the truth about reality to create a fantasy story, however, getting your readers to abandon their belief in one true God in an imagery world, even just for a little while, isn't spiritually responsible. Much less, redefining Him as Zeus. We all agree that stories like this create emotion in their readers. The emotion that I had to resist while reading about God in this story was one of shame for believing there is only one God.
I'm not someone that would usually complain about errors in spelling and grammar in books (anyone can make a mistake) but these were so numerous that it was totally distracting. That said, I did think the book was okay. The concept was interesting and I liked the story line of a little girl being whisked away from her world and brought to ours to save her. I would have liked the main character to have more depth. A lot of time was spent on clothing; what she wearing, what she was changing into, what she wasn't wearing. I already have the second book and I did like the first enough to give that one a try.
I don’t really write reviews. But, i feel that i must bc this was a great book except the grammar. It took everything in me not to take a red pen and mark all the mistakes in the book. I am not one that writes very well but, i noticed the spelling errors and it made me a little crazy. Other than that i thought the story line was great. The author just has to get better editors!!
I actually would give it a 3.75 star review. My pain problem was all the grammatic mistakes and inconsistencies. The story itself was a lot fun and I wanted to keep reading to see what would happen next. I plan on finishing the series. It was a good start to a new series!
Tight tale of mystical proportion with romance, war, deception and comrades. Having been positioned for future does not stop danger of being replaced in violence..
This is an interesting fantasy novel about a little girl who was whisked away from her homeland,Nysian, after a grusome attack on her family in which she is transported to another dimension of. earth to be raised by select people to protect her from being killed before she can be crowned Queen and fulfill the Nysian Prophecy, which says she will save her country and people from destruction. It is written more on the level of a high school student. This is book one of three. There is some romance but little real erotiicism. Perhaps the next two books will hold more intrique. Kathy R. Blackman
I truly enjoyed reading this book! It's a fast-paced, suspenseful story that I didn't want to put down. I loved the characters and their interactions (I even loved to hate Prince Henry). I found the connections between Earth and Nysa to be interesting and original. I can’t wait to read Book 2 of this trilogy!
I could not put this book down! It was fresh and new and unlike anything I've ever read. I loved the character development as well. It felt as if I personally knew them. All I can say is go... Read it now! I can't wait for the second installment!
This book is a need to read if u like action, romance and fantasy the being is a little Rocky but after that I just want to see what happens next and I can't wait to read to next book
