Jameson O'Rourke owns the primo tattoo shop in town, one he's worked hard to build. And in his industry, he's the current 'it' boy, the reigning King of Ink. His career is on fire, so hot television has even come calling. And as a result, the town bad-boy has now become the town's favored son.

Ava Hightower needs his face on her flyers, if she is to have any hope of her charity gala and bachelor auction being a success. Unfortunately, they get along like oil and water. He's a hardheaded, controlling jerk, and she's already had one run-in with the man. Asking him, of all people, for help is the last thing she wants to do.

Not exactly a match made in heaven.

Jameson doesn't think too highly of Miss Hightower, either.

To him, she's just an uptight, stuck-up know-it-all; a little Miss Goody-two-shoes. Not in a million years was she the type that he'd have anything to do with. Unfortunately she is also on the city council, and therefore has the ability to screw with his business.

He needed her help once before, and she shot him down.

Now the tables are turned, and she needs his help. Well, my, my, sweetheart, karma can be a cold-hearted bitch.

But, hey, maybe he could work this to his advantage.

You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours, and all that crap.

So they cut a deal. One he has no intention of ever having to fulfill, because he plans to make it impossible for her to keep her end of it.

She thought she could outlast him. Guess again, sweet thing. She may be a stubborn woman, but she's met her match. And he has no intention of letting her win this game.

Be warned, sweetheart, because the King of Ink has plans to push your limits in ways you've never imagined.

Due to personal reasons, I no longer review books that get less than three stars from me. In order that I can remember why a book didn't work out for me, I've decided to file them accordingly. Meaning, I had to extend my shelves substantially.

P.S. You can check out my update @40% to know more about my issues.

Hottie alert! Hottie alert!

Nicole James can write a hot as hell Hero like no other, and I think I've fallen in love with every single on of her men. Jameson is no different and I even loved all of his brothers. I really liked how close knit this family was in their own way. They weren't your usual brothers that you would see and they kind of made their own family rules. It was fun to read about how they were all so different, yet just a like in some ways. And of course I loved how all of them took Ava under their wing.

Jameson was a super sexy, fun book to read and I became very invested in these characters. I liked that I was able to easily put myself in their story and experience it with them, it's one of the reasons I like this author so much because she makes it very easy to jump into her stories. I did have a problem with how much Jameson's old crush was brought up, and it kind of lowered my enjoyment factor a little bit, but it wasn't anything too major. I just wish it had been mentioned a little less than it was.

Bottom line, if you're looking for a sexy as all get out Hero and a take-no-crap heroine, then this is the book for you. I hope people will love Jameson and Ava as much as I did!

5 Freaking Stars!

I loved this book by Nicole James! I can't believe I've not read a book of hers before! I know that I've had Outlaw forever, but I think it is because I know it seems more like a dark book. This book ticks all my boxes:
- sexy, hot tattooed biker CHECK
- strong, independent heroine CHECK
- great story with enemies to lovers plot CHECK
- great dialogue between the characters CHECK

I read the excerpt for the next book with Max and I can't wait till it's out. In the meantime I think I'm going to go and hunt down the Evil Dead MC series until Max's book comes out.

Well, it seems that Nicole James sure has no problem handling a hot, bossy, grouchy tattoo owner. Why should she? Ask anyone who's ever read her Evil Dead MC Series. She's got three club houses to keep up with—each filled with a stable of extremely sexy, domineering, mischievous, gun-totin', alpha bikers who sometimes need direction when it comes to their women.
Jameson is the first book in Nicole's new—Brothers Ink Series—and it's outstanding. We had a taste of him in Ghost, the fifth book in her Evil Dead MC Series.

Jameson O'Rourke is the owner of the hottest tattoo shop around. Jameson is a rock star in the tattoo world. He's highly world renowned, and definitely sought after by, well, you name it: TV, magazines, bikers, white collar professionals, and charities, especially one that's run by the prettiest member of the city council, Ava Hightower.

Ava is a thorn in Jameson's side—his current bane of existence—the last thing this ornery Irishman wants. Maybe. This is where the story starts.
Ava and Jameson's past, individually, is the reason why they're exactly the way they are—watching the two of them navigate their way around each other is entertaining and endearing. Jameson's brothers, Max, Liam, & Rory (grrrr) will each be given their own story, and are a major part of this one—it's so easy to fall in love with each one of the O'Rourke brothers.

Jameson is a story where every paragraph of every chapter could be highlighted. It's THAT book—the one where the beauty and heartfelt meanings that lie within the words give the story everything that it deserves—everything that they deserve. The characters and the genre might have turned down a different avenue, but make no mistake, the same exciting writing style that Nicole's fans have always adored is still right there.

This was a fabulous read—great storyline, amazing, amazing, amazing characters, painstaking attention to detail, along with top-notch editing, made Jameson, hands-down, a five star read for me. Like I said, Nicole James knows a few bossy alphas, and she ain't afraid to use 'em. Absolutely a must read. I was given this ARC for an honest review, and honest it most certainly is.

3 1/2 "I have mixed feelings" Stars.

Well... I don't know. Some parts I liked, some parts I didn't like. Jameson and Ava both acted immature. Jameson was an ass... until he wasn't (as much of an ass). Ava was a pushover. Period. She was a pushover with tstl tendencies. Annoying. But with all that, Jameson won me over. Circumstances made him have to grow up too fast and hold on a little too tight. And even though I don't like how Ava played things, I did understand why she did- a little bit... They should have just talked to each other.

The book would have been a lot better with more plot development and time for Jameson and Ava to go from "I hate you" to "I love you". But overall, I think I liked it ok. I will definitely be reading Max's story because Jameson's brothers were absolutely a highlight of the story. Happy reading!

Behind this novel was a great idea for hater-to-lovers story. I was truly enjoying it for a while, it was great leisure read with palpable tension between two main characters.

Unfortunately, I lost interest halfway through it since storytelling didn’t work for me once all the things happened out of sudden and left a bitter taste in my mouth. Especially final chapters were WAY over the top, didn’t fit overall tone of the story and left me disappointed.

I absolutely loved ALMOST everything about this book! OK, so what I FLOVED: Jameson and Ava and if I am being honest just about everyone...his brothers, OH MY.....her sister Steffy, ya she was so damned cute and funny! This series should prove to be FANTASTIC!

OK, so what I took off a half star for , well for me, it was the "build-up", yes I loved and enjoyed it BUT for me I needed more ....like more sexual tension, more flirting, just plain MORE. I wanted him to be more of an alpha male but still absolutely adored him:) Ava was equally swoon, she was so damned cute, sexy, sweet and the banter between the two was funny and I totally enjoyed them...I just wanted MORE!

Congrats Author Nicole James, this was a great way to kick off a new series and I for one will definitely be following the rest of those HOT n SEXY brothers and of of course, Steffy:)

*ARC*

Jameson is the first book in the Brothers Ink series featuring four brothers, Jameson, Max, Liam and Rory. Obviously this book is about Jameson, he is the oldest brother and a very famous tattoo artist, he is broody, at times a total asshole but what he is the most is protective of his brothers. When his nemesis uses his picture stating he is the lead bachelor up for auction, well to say he is pissed is an understatement. When they come up with an agreement, one he has no plans on actually honoring, he thinks he has one, but has he really?

Ava is so not a fan of Jameson either; he’s a biker and a tattoo artist, that means he has to be bad news right? I was so glad when Ava is proved wrong because I hate judgmental people, and I especially hate those judgmental towards bikers or people who have tattoos, so at first I couldn’t stand her, but slowly her sassy attitude and determination won me over. She finds a new side of herself thanks to Jameson and his brothers, a side that I loved.

Of course there is some drama and other things that occur but I won’t say what because I don’t want it to ruin you all, but I do wish that it was given more of a solid conclusion, read about it and you will see what I mean. Jameson is a good book, and a good start to this series but it was just missing that something that would have made it great. Needless to say though I will be continuing on with the series because I really want to see what will happen to the rest of the brothers.

3.5 stars - I've wanted Jameson's story ever since Crystal worked for him in Ghost, part of Nicole James' Evil Dead series. I wish there was a bit more character development and better banter between Ava and Jameson, he deserved more and I'm a bit disappointed. Super fast opposites attract love story.

Jameson intrigued me when we met him in Wolf from the Evil Dead series so I was looking forward to finally reading his story. It ended up having a degree of sweetness I wasn’t expecting from Nicole James. Initially, the tone caught me off guard in this enemies-to-lovers book that just happened to have some badass brothers in it. Here, Jameson was a bit of a prick for a good part of the book.

Ava suddenly found herself needing Jameson to headline her annual charity gala that raises funds for a cause near and dear to her heart. She had judged Jameson wrong when she screwed him with the city council which came back to bite her in the ass in a big way as it soon became evident he could hold a mean grudge.

In fact, judging people wrong was a huge theme of this book as Jameson was a bit judgemental his own self. I still really like Jameson, but I was a bit disappointed that his sheer dickheadedness lasted for so very long. As for Ava, she showed she wasn’t the brightest bulb on more than one occasion.

Although I enjoyed the book and the sweetness of getting a front row seat to these two haters falling for each other, I wanted more of the grit I’ve come to expect in Ms. James’ books. There was a tiny bit of suspense but it was dealt with in such an easy peasy way I was hugely disappointed. It’s good I had Jameson’s hot as hell and very amusing brothers to soothe my action craving soul. Let’s face it, potential super hot and tatted alpha-hole book boyfriends are almost as calming as chocolate chip cookie dough. I’m looking forward to reading their stories, and am crossing my fingers for some gritty action to offset the sweet.

OMG! OMG! OMG! I love Nicole James' Evil Dead MC series, and I feel in love with the O'Rourke Brothers when she introduced them in Wolf. So when I found out that she was writing a spin-off for them and their tattoo shop, I was ecstatic! And she did not disappoint.

Jameson O'Rourke is the oldest of four brothers. He's the owner of Brothers Ink, and he's the star attraction. He's stunningly attractive and he's on the covers of several magazines. Ava Hightower needs him - to be the headlining bachelor for her fund raiser. But she's not going to ask him. They've already butted heads once and that was one time too many. With a goof-up and the interference of siblings, she's at his mercy so they make a trade - she'll be his receptionist for six weeks and he'll be her headliner. Easier said than done because he's bound and determine she won't last six weeks.

They say opposites attract, but in this case, when you have two headstrong personalities with way too much in common, either they are going to kill each other or give into the lust. I loved every aggravating, hypnotic pull of Jameson O'Rourke. Ava was just as strong. The O'Rourke Brothers all have a special family bond that I adore. I can't wait to learn more about each one. Nicole James is one of my favorite authors for a reason. 5-stars!!

The shades of "Under Locke" by Mariana Zapata are so deep beneath the surface of this novel, I can't get beyond that. I didn't like this plot the first time I read it. THEN...once I thought about it, I think I liked Jameson much better when he was chasing Crystal. Just sayin'

By the time they finally get together (70%) I don't give a shit anymore and then they're both SOOOOO in love I'm left standing here rolling my eyes at the drama that ensues.

Where was the build to this?

They went from mortal enemies to sniping daily for weeks to fucking and 24hrs later they're serious about each other in their individual POVs and 48hrs later he's not introducing her to his past flame and benefactor who he spends an hour with alone in his office and sends off with a peck on the lips...now, that's not a big deal...but the H/h are supposed be soooo good together, I'm pissed he didn't introduce the two women and that he was in any way physical with the old flame he refused to introduce to his current flame. Especially when she bids $10k on him at the auction a week later. There is absolutely NO follow up to this by the author. That's just fucking sloppy.

And I'm only mad cuz it took us forever to get to this point and I'm already doubting the intensity of their connection...and the BS about not introducing the women didn't help cement his preference for the h. He's already lamented the leaving of Crystal in such a way it made me uncomfortable. And, frankly, I much preferred him for Crystal than the guy she ended up with.

This was just more fluffy bunny bullshit. Sorry...no...not sorry. This really lacked something for me. There were no real (or honest) stumbling blocks, the ones they encountered were totally contrived, and the growth to their HEA was sorely lacking.

I know others will love this because there is no OW drama and the H is all about the h when he finally decides he wants her...but really...so fucking what?!?!

2.75 stars...the writing was not the best, the plot was MIA, and I couldn't believe the two as a HEA couple because I didn't read enough of them as a twosome to give me that confidence...and the real story of the OW was never satisfactorily dealt with.

Well 3.75

I liked the story but I really just couldn't feel the pull between them. They hated each other so much and then went from that to lovey dovey. Hard to conceptualize.

Jameson is hot, but way too cranky and controlling. Ava was ok, she really didn't like losing a wager. She was very uptight and again there just didn't seem any connection with Jameson.

The perceived threat to Ava really wasn't that scary and he got solved way too quickly and easily.

I want to hear about the brothers though and can't wait for their stories.

4 Ava and Jameson Stars
I really enjoyed this book- Jameson is a character that appears in the Evil Dead MC series and I had hoped he would get his own story too.
Jameson is the eldest of the O'Rourke brothers and is a well known tattoo artist who is adored by women and admired by men. He's also a tough cookie with a sharp tongue who doesn't suffer fools gladly.
Ava is a successful businesswoman who finds her path crossing with the hot and difficult Jameson. These two are similar in many ways and they clash big time. The attraction is a slow build and deliciously intense with lots of fun and sweet moments to balance out the arguing and tension. I liked Jameson for the most part, Ava is gorgeous and the secondary characters make this book even more enjoyable.

So, why not five stars?
SPOILERS AHEAD

Jameson and Courtney Kemp....that just seemed a little bit weird and random in a way. They gave each other a peck on the mouth when saying goodbye and Ava saw this but he never apologises for it . It's just swept under the carpet- to be clear he does NOT cheat at all and it really is something and nothing but it irritated me a bit.
Also, the Rachel stalker thing seemed to be left unfinished.
The ending felt rushed to me.

HEA? Yes
Cheating? No

I don't quite know how I feel about this book. It was a leisurely and pleasant read up until about seventy percent and then all of a sudden sex, misunderstandings, the brush off, the grand gesture, the epilogue, boom done.

It was a slooooow build. Jameson and Ava were enemies. They both had preconceived notions of the other but after a mistake on Ava's part she ends up working as a receptionist for Brothers Ink, Jameson's tattoo shop he runs with his brothers, for six weeks. During that time they both shed their prejudices and fall in love. Very formulaic but still an okay read.

I think I'll pass on the rest of the series however. It seems like it's going to be more of the same. Even though the brothers are tattoo artists they dream of something more. Max wants to be an MMA fighter and Rory wants to be a rock star. If we can convince Ms. James to make Liam a firefighter we'll have all the Alpha go-to jobs covered. Lol. No thanks.

Jameson (Brothers Ink #1)
5 stars
Nicole James

I am a Nicole James fan … a gi-normous fan so when I heard there was a series coming featuring the O’Rourke brothers I couldn’t have been happier. I love The Evil Dead MC series – and this is where we meet Jameson and his brothers. Each of these books would be considered stand alones but if you want to know the background on Jameson and where we first get our glimpse of him then you need to click up Wolf. Which I will say … will leave you heartbroken for Jameson. That book sets the standard of what you need for Jameson in understanding his demeanor.

Having said this I couldn’t be more thrilled at a new series. There are books that after turning the last page you fall on your face on your bed and breathe deeply. This is one of those books. I love Cole (Evil Dead --) don’t get me wrong but the O’Rourke brothers are giving the MC a run for their money.

Ava Hightower has had the somewhat of the same path as Jameson. She herself is a successful business woman who did It for her family. Personal reasons drive the need for her charity auction to be successful this year and her sister knows that Jameson O’Rourke is the key. Already having a run in with Mr. O’Rourke at a town council meeting, Ava wants nothing to do with the man. However her sister has other plans and karma is a real fricker at times.

This was such a fantastic story. I loved the characters and I LOVED meeting each of the O’Rourke brothers. Maxwell, Liam and Rory are going to be something and I cant wait to see how the story continues for Jameson and Ava. There is some high octane tension there. No spoilers.

We are treated to an excerpt from Maxwell at the end of Jameson and it looks to be just as magnificent. Jameson flows seamlessly and there are moments of hilarity between the brothers; each with their own story to tell but genuine love between them topped with loyalty and protection.
This book is free on Kindle Unlimited and worth the click either way. I do recommended reading Wolf first but that is just me because I am needy and like to know the back story of every character I can. You don’t have to especially if you aren’t that OCD like me. I do recommend clicking up The Evil Dead Series. You don’t want to miss out on either of this wonderful gifts!

This was not an ARC – This was simply a MUST read for me.

Cover with Josh Mario John let my finger with a nervous click, so I have to buy. #oneclikcaddicted I love the covers with him. #coverwhore
The story is good but it's nothing special to stand out or to go stay in memory. The heroes are the older brothers who are in charge of taking care of their family and keep it together. The two have insecurities which complicates their relationship. A little drama of another woman and a stalker is placed in the history. Like the brothers and sister.

Author: Nicole James

I rated this book back on 8-11-2017 but didn’t review it so here goes.

What happens when a prim and proper woman meets a tatted and gruff tattoo shop owner? Romance gold that’s what.

Flowed so well that even when they were bickering I enjoyed it; low drama and steamy scenes upped my enjoyment.

There are few joys in life for an avid reader that compare with being pleasantly surprised by a book. Sure, we all have authors we love whose work we instantly buy (sometimes without even reading the synopsis). It is no big surprise to enjoy those books. But when you pick up a title by a new (or at least new to YOU) author, a little voice in your head is like "ok writer, show me what ya got!" I can't be the only one who feels that way and I'm sure I'm not alone when I say half the time, you kinda anticipate walking away a little disappointed.

But SOMETIMES you get lucky. That is the case with Jameson by Nicole James. I'm not gonna recap the whole book because I'm typing this on my ancient smartphone with a ridiculously tiny screen but WOW was I please with this book. Loved the characters and story. The enemies-to-lovers transition was believable and it had just the right amount of sexiness without being over the top. Can't wait to read more in this series!

OMG...just wow. Sometimes a book does not live up to the sexy cover we see but NOT so with Jameson. I was already a huge fan of Nicole James and her Evil Dead MC series (I've read them all) but had no idea how great this one would be. The O'Rourke brothers are each fantastic on their own...each one of them has endearing personality quirks and are more than capable of carrying a storyline for a book of their own...but Jamie is HOT and dominating and yet very sweet on the inside as well. I absolutely loved every second of this story and can not wait for more from this series.
Ava and Jameson give us a playful and steamy cat-and-mouse game where the only winner can be both of them...just fabulous.

Hot damn!

So I feel the need to go get another tattoo now...from one of the O’Rourke brothers! Well I have once again stayed up way past my bedtime reading a book when I should be sleeping. That’s a sign of a good book! Jameson and Ava were feisty ornery that’s the best way to put it. But boy were there fireworks! I loved the brothers, I think Max is my favorite. This was a great start to the series and I can’t wait to read more....tomorrow (as much as I want to start Max’s book right now). If you like tough tattoo’d men who meet their match, brothers that will make you laugh, a strong willed woman that knows what she wants, and some steam...start this series. I mean it! Read this!

Jameson and Ava clash from day one...but there is a fine line between love and hate. What happens once you cross that line? I liked the characters but for me, they went from hate to love faster than a speeding bullet. Then the way they both acted just prior to and following the gala kind of ruined the romance part. I did like the actions Jamie took at the council meeting.
Jameson had to grow up fast and he holds tightly to those he loves, maybe too tightly. Ava is trying to make up for a past failure and will do all she can to succeed at it. Will these two realize that first impressions can be wrong? Will Jameson's stubbornness alienate him and will Ava's guilt be her downfall. Read to find out!

Omg!! What a hidden gem!
I stumbled across this book and the synopsis grabbed my attention.
I'm so glad I found this author! She's fantastic!
I'm a sucker for an Alpha jerk and Jamison fits that description perfectly! I fell in love with all four brothers as soon as they were introduced and can't wait to hear more of their stories!
As well as the perfect a-hole, this book has an amazingly strong, sassy female lead! Her heart of gold made me cheer her on and her strong spirit drew me in.
A must read for all romance lovers out there!
