Elizabeth Goddard hits the ground running with this suspenseful novel and the action does not let up at ALL! I was holding my breath several times during this reading. The characters had so much adrenaline running through them running from the criminals that I think it projected onto me! Seriously. If you love a good suspense story, especially with wonderful spiritual themes, this is for you! Goddard's spiritual message is clear: we can't handle our problems on our own. We need God's help and it's best to just let go and let Him handle it in the first place. I highly recommend this one.

Some residents of Gideon, OR are having incredibly bad luck. Or maybe it’s outsiders bringing it to town. Either way, buckle up for another thrill ride through the beauty and harshness of the Rogue River Wilderness area as Olivia and Zack fight for their lives.

From the first page as Oliva finds a trail of blood in the snow, I was swept into this story. Goddard writes in such a way that the cold of the snow and blizzard seeped into me as I went along for the ride. But the heart of this story lies in regrets.

Olivia has been estranged from her brother for three years and now doesn’t know if she’ll ever see him again. Zack’s decision to follow the rules cost him dearly. So much so that years later, he’s decided to give up his job. And both of them made a choice that ended their relationship ten years ago.

When they not running from the people trying to kill them or trying to unravel what information Olivia’s brother has, their time together causes both of them to reflect on their past mistakes. And maybe, if they can survive, instead of looking over their shoulders at the past, they can walk forward into a promising future.

False Security is the third book in the Wilderness, Inc. series, yet it can be easily read as a stand alone. It is packed with danger, close calls, wilderness survival situations, and a love story that begins to rekindle when it seems that all hope may be lost.

I really liked the two main characters, Olivia and Zach. They had history together and their history was pretty heartbreaking. Their past love for each other added great tension to the story as they attempted to stay alive while searching for Olivia’s missing brother.

This novel had so many close calls and the danger stayed high all the way through the story! The author did a really good job of creating many struggles for the characters to work through while also building up the attraction between the two of them. I definitely recommend this book to those who enjoy romantic suspense.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinons are my own.

Really not having any luck in the romantic suspense category lately. The past 10 books or so are completely forgettable and this one is no exception. At the 50% mark the main characters were still running from an unknown bad guy. No time for romance or sexual tension.

Don't blink, don't relax and don't lose focus.......this book is so good it will grab you from the first page and won't let you go!! Olivia must find her missing brother when her path crosses with Zach Long, her ex fiance and her brother's best friend. What is he doing here and why does he keep bossing Olivia around as the bullets fly??

Loved Olivia from the start, I totally agreed with how she handled everything. NOTHING will stop her from finding her brother even if it means risking her life to do so!! I have two brothers and I felt the same way throughout the story.

Zach is a great guy who has been through hardships, he is really bossy with Olivia, but the thought of failing to protect her is unbearable. He has to let go of his past before it suffocates him. I didn't like how gruff he is, but he does a stand up job in the circumstances thrown at him.

"She was literally on a ride for her life. And this ride included those she loved."

The author wrote this while grieving for a loved one and the writing is fast-paced, action-packed, and unpredictable. Despite the difficulty of putting this story together, Goddard gives the reader an entertaining tale that is enjoyable as well as filled with hope even in the midst of impossible danger. Two thumbs up to writers like Goddard who are obedient even when faced with her own real life tragedy. From the acknowledgments: "I've lost the person who inspired me to become an avid reader and the person who was the greatest influence on my life in this writing endeavor, but regardless, I want to thank my mother for loving me and raising me to know the Lord so that I may have the hope of seeing her again one day soon."

The scripture chosen for this book is Psalms 46:10: Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. This story really does match this scripture, nicely done!!

I want to thank the author for the review copy provided. The thoughts and comments are my own.

Just one word comes to mind after reading False Security by Elizabeth Goddard and that is WOW!!!! I honestly didn't think that she could top Target For Murder (her first book in the Wilderness, Inc series and if you haven't read it...go do so NOW), but each book just keeps getting better and better. False Security starts you off out in the mountains with Olivia Kendricks coming home to find her brother Rich missing. She searches for him only to find tracks out in the snow and a trail of blood. She follows the trail only to be shot out by 2 shooters. Running for her life, Olivia sees someone from her past who she never thought she would see again. Zach, the man she lost to an ultimatum 10 years earlier is there to help her find her brother and keep them both alive in the process. Not only do they have to fight for their lives, they also have to fight feelings that keep coming up from their past.

I just loved this book so much. Its so fast paced and just keeps you on this twisty ride until the very end. I truly didn't want to put the book down. I loved Liv and Zach's story. I loved learning their past and watching how they had grown from the experiences of the last 10 years to where they are now. My most favorite part of the story though, besides the suspense and romance was the weather and setting! I loved that it was set up in the mountains during very bad inclement weather. I love me a good blizzard!

So if you love stories set in the mountains with bad stormy snowy weather and suspense to keep you on your toes for days, don't delay and read this book! Its got all the markings for a great evening in.

This is the third book in the terrific "Wilderness, Inc." series. Olivia Kendricks, an employee of Cooper Wilde's Wilderness, Inc., gets home to her cabin in the woods to find no sign of her brother, who recently turned up at her door. Leaving to search for him, she encounters two shooters, and they are shooting to kill! Olivia's first, and former, love, Zach, arrives out of nowhere after not seeing each other for a decade, and rescues her. Now Olivia and Zach, dealing with long-buried feelings of guilt, remorse, anger, and sadness, must depend on each other to outwit the shooters in the freezing and snowy wilderness, try to find Olivia's brother, solve the mystery of why assassins are after them, and deal with decade-old emotions being reawakened in each of them. A fast-paced, exciting and suspenseful book I definitely enjoyed reading!

Action packed, fast paced, exciting, keep you on the edge of your seat story. The author gives a story with such great descriptions that I felt as if I was in the snow along with the characters. I actually felt a shiver while reading. The story line is well developed and I definitely was cheering on the good people. Once you start reading this one, you won't want to put it down. I received a copy of this story from the author and this is my personal honest opinion.

Exhilarating thriller filled with suspense, danger,
secrets, gunman all chasing after and firing shots
at Nick Kendrick, his sister, Olivia and his best
friend, Zachary Long, retired police detective.
What is up happening? To where has Nick
disappeared? Is Nick just wounded or was he
shot to death?
This story is set in the Siskiyou Mountains in
southwest Oregon.
The scenery is vividly described. I was able to
feel the cold, the wind and the snow which the
array of characters felt. What an adventure!!!
You will remember the danger, the spiritual
moments and the flavor of romance in the story.
I volunteered to read this eBook. Thanks to the
author for this opportunity. My opinion is my own.

This suspenseful series is set in southwest Oregon in the Siskiyou Mountains.
Elizabeth Goddard masterfully brings the setting alive with vivid imagery.
The plot is an spine tingling suspense that is full of twists and turns.
This is the third book in the series, but is easily a stand alone. I would recommend reading the first two books to get the full impact of the series.
This story centers around Olivia Kendrick, Rich Kendrick and Zach Long.
Rich and Zach are best friends. Rich was engaged to Zach's sister Sarah until she was killed 3 years ago. Rich was devastated and hired on with a private military contractor in the middle east to put some distance between him and the tragedy. Olivia was a biology teacher in Portland, but with the death of her mother retreated to the vacation home located outside of Giddeon in the Siskiyou Mountains. She went to work for Wilderness, Inc. as a guide for the adventure excursion company. Zach Long was a Portland Police Detective until a year ago when he resigned from the job.
I loved Olivia and Zach. Olivia is a strong woman who has learned to depend on no one but herself. She has a gentle heart and a warm personality. Zach comes from a long line of police officers in the family so he's a natural born protector.
This story has elements of suspense, mystery, romance and faith.
This is a spectacular read and one I would recommend to anyone who loves suspense.

On a quest to find her missing brother, Olivia Kendricks sets out on an adventure she never dreamed of having! Not only is it dead of winter in the middle of a blizzard on top of the mountain, she runs into Zach Long; ex-fiance from years ago. With shooters stalking their every move, they must flee on foot to find help, risking life and limb every step of the way!

I love this authors writing! How she engulfs you in the story, partners you with her characters and makes you feel like you're right there with them in the pages of the book. This was chilling, thrilling and a hold-your-breath adventure that won't let go until the last word! I had no idea how Zack and Olivia were going to escape the bullets that were flying nor survive the dangerous wintry terrain, the author had me on pins and needles. Olivia was a strong character; independent to the core and not letting anything get in the way of finding her brother much to the consternation of Zach. He's the natural protector, all around hero-type who will do what it takes to see things through till the end. All the while, they are both fighting an inner battle of the heart, old feelings surface just as the danger ramps up! I also loved catching up with the other characters in the Wilderness Inc. series. As with other books I've read by this author, it's one not to miss! Suspense done right, just the perfect amount of romance, a natural faith-thread woven throughout, and danger around every corner!

False Security (Wilderness, Inc. Book #3)
By: Elizabeth Goddard
False Security is book three in Wilderness, Inc. , but it can be read as a stand-a-lone with no problems. I really enjoyed this fast paced story. It is filled with action, suspense , survival , danger, gunmen all around, and love. I caught myself trying to read faster to see what was going to happen next. There were times i caught myself holding my breath while trying to read. If you love a fast paced good suspense , then you will love False Security. Be sure to take cover while reading so you will be safe from all the bullets flying around. I really love the two main characters Olivia and Zach. There is back history between these two. Olivia and Zach is trying to find Olivia’s brother that has gone missing. Can the two put their past behind them to try and find her brother?
I was given a complimentary copy of this book , but was not told that I had to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.

Elizabeth Goddard once again treats readers to a heart-racing, page-turning adventure! I loved the tangible tension and engaging emotion that could be felt as Olivia and Zach struggled to survive in the Oregon wilderness. I also enjoyed the history shared between the two and the feelings that were rekindled as death and danger loomed. False Security is an exciting story and a recommended read for fans of romantic suspense!

False Security is a Love Inspired Suspensse by Elizabeth Goddard. It is a Wilderness, Inc. book. It takes place in the Siskiyou Mountains of southwest Oregon.
Olivia Kendricks had left her job as a teacher and had fled to her family’s mountain vacation home to recover. Her Mother had recently died and she was having a hard time with that. Before her death, her Mother had needed her brother, Rick; but he was in the Middle East working security for a company and with the death of his fiancée, he saw no reason to come home. He and Olivia had words while he was home for the funeral. Olivia couldn’t help regret the words because she hadn’t seen or talked to Nick since. Now, he has suddenly shown up at the family cabin in the middle of winter. He showed up yesterday and now he wasn’t here when she came home. However, his stuff was still in his room and now she saw the blood on the snow. Knowing he must be badly hurt, she jumps back on her snowmobile to follow him. She finds his snowmobile; but not Rick. Then, another snowmobile shows up!
Zachary Long, a former police detective and the love of Olivia’s life comes riding up on a snowmobile. He had a message from Rick begging him to meet him at the vacation house. Something was wrong and he needed Zach to help him. Zach had come at once; but had not planned on seeing Olivia. Now what was he to do?
As Olivia and Zachary continue their search for Nick, they are followed and shot at by someone. Was he after them or Him?
This is a really good book. You can’t help being pulled into the action.

What would you do if you arrived at your mountain cabin, expecting to find your brother there but found blood instead and when you follow that "trail of blood", two shooters start shooting at you? All of the sudden, your first love shows up and rescues you but you are both stuck in a blizzard, then go inside a cave because the shooters have you pinned down! That's how this fantastic suspense book begins! It doesn't really let up from there either. They continue to run for their lives in the wilderness, all the while, trying to find Olivia's brother who is MIA. What is he mixed up in that is worth killing for? Olivia's first love, Zach, was a police officer and her brother's best friend and he was supposed to meet him to find out was going on but they can't find him! Everywhere they go, someone is shooting at them. I can't imagine the stamina it would take in that snowy wilderness. Olivia and Zach have to let go of their past and try to work together to save each other and find her brother PLUS take down these powerful men that are trying to kill them. It's a great book and so full of action and suspense. In that atmosphere, you would really find out what you are made of, that's for sure! I recommend this book!

False Security by Elizabeth Goddard, the third book in the Winderness Inc. series, opens up with rapid-fire action that kept me engrossed. I was swept away with the play by play action as Olivia and Zachary dodged bullets and danger every step they took in order to find Rich, her brother and Zach’s best friend. It is a matter of life and death as they rush to safety knowing fully that shooters with semi-automatic weapons wanted them dead. But why? And who are these people?

Olivia had escaped Portland to live a quiet life yet the irony of living in the middle of nowhere proved to have its consequences. Another irony is that Zach broke her heart years ago and yet here he was saving her life. The danger lurking in every corner tests their faith and self-will. When it’s all over, will they be able to heal together?

Final Verdict:

The storytelling in False Security is flawless and I’ll surely be rereading it in the future. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the book which I read in one sitting and felt involved in all the action. The author wrote with a deftness that brings each of her characters alive...whether they were good or bad. In the end, it was the perfect escape!

Highly Recommended

An amazing adrenaline rush!

This is a stand alone story. The main characters from the previous books do make an appearance but only in secondary roles.

The main characters are fantastic! The fact that their lives are very intertwined from years ago made for a great story. I was really interested in seeing how they would work through their individual wounds and move forward.

The danger they are in is palpable and really kept me reading. I was intrigued by the question of why the shooters were targeting them.

I received a free copy of this book from the author. I have chosen to write this review to express my personal opinion.

Full Circle

Zack and Olivia fell in love as teenagers, then let circumstances tear them apart.
Ten years later, after enduring several personal crises, they are thrown back together unexpectedly in deadly peril.
With little time to do anything but try to survive an unknown number of enemies shooting at them, they can only try to dodge bullets and stay alive until they can find Olivia’s brother who can explain what’s happening.
Finding him only succeeds in letting them know why they are all in such danger, not how they will survive it.
In the midst of their fear and exhaustion, each one turns to God asking in simple prayer, “please help us. Show us what the right thing to do is.”
God often answers in unexpected ways, and has more in store for us than we could ever imagine.
The story was enjoyable and I was rooting for Zack, Olivia and her brother!
I love me a happy ending! ❤️

False Security is a suspenseful second chance romance. Ten years ago Olivia Kendricks and Zachary Long had gone their separate ways when Zach's decision to pursue a career in law enforcement was something Olivia could not accept since her father, a police officer, had died in the line of duty. They were thrown together again when Olivia's brother Rich called Zach for urgent help after he returned from overseas where he worked for a security company that had committed an atrocity. He knew that the company would send someone after him and wanted to give the evidence to someone he trusted. What he did not expect was to find his sister at the place he had designated to meet Zach. They both walked into the crosshairs of the men looking for Rich and an immediately had to battle for survival.

I have read newer books by this author so I started checking out her older LIS Harlequin books. I love "series" books so fortunately I was able to find all 4 books in this Wilderness Inc online to read even though this is an older series (2016-2017).

This series is set in Oregon and although each book in this series has its unique story and characters, they all tied back together with characters from the Wilderness Inc. company.

I loved each unique story-the characters, the romance, the fast paced suspense! I highly recommend this series and this author if you haven't read these books! I read each book in less than a day because they were so fun and easy to read.

When Olivia Kendricks returns to her mountain she discovers her brother Rich missing and a trail of blood leading into the woods. She follows and meets up with former love and ex-detective Zach Long also looking for her brother. Then they are shot at and must run for their lives while trying to figure out what is going on and whom to trust. This was a very convoluted tail with them in and out of danger. The problem was the amount of soul search each of the MC's did during the story to resolve issues of forgiveness and self-esteem to get to the romantic ending needed. Whole thing seemed forced and overwrought.

Suspenseful and the characters were likeable. Great book to read during the winter season as it's setting is set in the mountains with snow. I started reading this not knowing that it was part of a series but I was able to read this as a stand alone book easily. I would recommend if you want a snowy action packed suspenseful story.

This is an exciting story that is believable only because it is a book. In real life, I don't believe 2 people could have their snowmobiles crashed so many times & one of them be able to walk away. I enjoyed the suspense, however. I read a library copy.

This one is my least favorite in the series. There is way too much reflection about the following: the past, Olivia and Zack's relationship, and the situation with Rick, Olivia's brother. Every lull in the action was filled with thoughts and dialog of reflection. It dragged the story out.
