I've read two miracle morning books now and loved them. This one felt a little too all over the place. I think too many things were trying to be discussed. And I felt like when it got off track, a brief sentence about miracle morning was slipped in. Almost like the authors really wanted to just write a parenting book, but felt compelled to force themselves to sneak in comments about the miracle morning. Sometimes it made no sense with what they were talking about.

I walked away with not much of a plan of action or clarity----just a little lost with over a hundred tips bouncing around my head!

Also the parent profile puzzled me....just because someone has a successful business didn't mean they were experts at parenting. There was no ethos there. I probably would have gotten more if they had interviewed authors of parenting books.

I do love the regular miracle morning book though! And there were some great tips in this. Just the work as a whole was a little too all over the place

This was a great follow up to the morning miracle book by Hal Elrod for me. A good mix of advice, suggestions and little anecdotes. Easy to read and choose what might work for my family.

I wanted to love this this book because I’m a huge admirer of Hal Elrod, but this was a let down.

The recap of the Life SAVERS was great; useful if you’re new to The Miracle Morning and a good refresher if you’re familiar with it. That’s the main reason I’ve given this three stars; Hal’s message is of great value to everyone.

What was disappointing about this book was that it was largely written by Lindsay, one of the co-authors. She comes across as living a charmed, privileged life and is just not relatable. I’m not saying that she hasn’t had challenges in parenting, we all do, but if you can afford private school (whilst claiming you’re “homeschooling”) to allow your family to travel whenever they please; employ babysitters to do the school run (after a ridiculously involved screening process); have weekly date nights and regular holidays alone with your spouse; take the kids (separately) on date nights every week and special days out every quarter, then I’m sorry but your struggles as a stay-at-home-mom are not the same as anyone I know!

Her writing comes across mostly as smug humble-bragging, with plenty of name dropping. Her repackaging of the Life SAVERS as CHARMS isn’t that interesting or original either.

What would have made this book so much more valuable is if Hal had chosen a more average family to co-author with him. I’d have rather read the insights of a family who don’t have all the help in the world and who have a more regular routine.

If you’re interested in The Miracle Morning, read the original!

I got this version because I thought it would suit my stage of life better. But now I'm wishing I had gotten the original version instead. The only part I really liked was the description of SAVERS, but again, that probably was covered better in the original.

This book is just an insubstantial cash cow. And though the woman in this book clearly tried to be instep with the ordinary person, all I could hear was this: "all you need to do to be truly happy is to do the SAVERS and outsource the things you don't like doing - get a maid for your house and a nanny for your kids!" Um... Yes, I would call that solid logic, but not always possible. Not all of us can afford to regularly fly all over the world and put our kids in private schools!

Save yourself some time and get the original book!

Nothing I haven't already picked up from other books. The book was all over the place with tips and ideas coming from the various parenting profiles sprinkled throughout the book. Not necessarily relatable in many areas, especially the advice to outsource everything you don't want to do or is weighing you down.

I love the miracle morning concept, but didn't care for this book or the tips discussed. Some good ones tho.

I read The Miracle Morning a few months ago and have been using Hal’s Life SAVERS since then. Doing this has helped me immensely to feel better organized, more focused, less anxious, and reach my goals. While it has definitely benefited me, and I’m so glad I read it, his original book didn’t always feel relevant to me as a homeschool mom. I was thrilled to see The Miracle Morning for Parents and Families and had read somewhere the co-authors were homeschoolers. I was hoping for a thorough outline of how to do the Miracle Morning with my kids (middle schoolers) so that we could all have a great morning routine and experience the benefits together. What I found was a lot of advice for parents whose children are really young. Much of the advice was irrelevant to me. For instance, I went online and checked out some of the recommended books on affirmations from the library, and they were picture books for young children. The parenting profiles throughout were mostly parents with younger children too. I can appreciate those stories and their challenges; I’ve been there before myself. But again, they are completely irrelevant to me now. I haven’t had to potty train a child or respond to a toddler tantrum in nearly a decade. I think this would have been better titled The Miracle Morning for Parents of Young Children, perhaps.
All that said, I did take away some good tips. I enjoyed the different way of setting affirmations. It was more like intention setting than affirmations, but I think it is effective and a nice addition to the affirmations I already use. I also benefited from the pages on clearing out clutter in order to achieve better focus and the tips on letting go of things, ideas, habits, and processes, that no longer serve you. Also, the Purposeful Parenting chapter had a lot of good questions to help with creating a purposeful vision. Overall, I am glad I read this book and will recommend it to others, especially any parents I meet with young children.

I listened to the audio book, which is narrated by a man. Most of the text is written by a woman and mother, so this was a strange choice.
Some useful stuff in here but it’s written from a very middle class perspective. It would have been useful if some of the case studies were from different walks of life, rather than the authors friends and peers. Some of the suggestions would only be possible if you have help at home/have a family set up where only one parent works and it’s 9-5.

Perfect for parents.

I really loved the book, it is very useful for you as a person and for you as a parent. Filled with tips and tactics to use with kids, as well as very inspiring. You can put everything into practice. I just wish it there was a big note book on it, I love the parents inputs, but with so much valuable suggestions and tips I would love to be able to scan a content list and go right to what I need most at different times in my parenting life. I guess this is a work I should do, you can really read this book like a textbook, taking notes all through our and reviewing your notes. But I feel
Like it will be hard for me to remember and refer to my notes all the tips since they are scattered through the book. Ultimately I think it’s a mud read and I would recommend it.

A kindle unlimited read, have heard lots of people talking about it on podcasts etc. I'm pretty sure that this book is going to irritate the heck out of me (it's apparently going to teach me how to "win at mornings", and I'm "taking a stand for greatness" just by picking it up - shudder). However, I do absolutely suck at mornings, normally getting woken up by a dog or a toddler, or both, around 8am (cough - 9am), so I'll give it a go.

UPDATE - I shelved/abandoned this as my Kindle Unlimited trial ran out. May pick it up again at some point.

I like the original Miracle Morning. If you haven't read the original, this might be good. But for anyone who knows the concept, this is just a reiteration of it with a lot of parenting advice added on.

Good, but...

It's a really good book and I definitely recommend all parents read it, BUT I didn't like some things.

First, the backbone (a summary) of The Miracle Morning: the Life S.A.V.E.R.S.

S - silence
A - affirmations
V - visualization
E - exercise
R - reading
S - scribing

I loved some of the advice in this book. It's approach is to use the Life S.A.V.E.R.S to help you achieve your parenting goals. And the final chapter by Hal, talks about The Miracle Equation: unwavering faith + extraordinary effort= miracle. That's the summary of the book. Up next are some things I didn't like.

1. She writes from a place of privilege, which is not terrible because she then gives alternatives if you can't afford some of her suggestions, but it just seems like she doesn't know all the hardships some people go through.

2. Some of the parenting advice is too authoritarian, from my perspective. I don't believe you should show your kids you're still "in charge."

3. It was repetitive and I seriously lost interest at times. In all fairness, I also read the original TMM book and a lot of it is repeated in this one, and I know it's intended for people who are reading about this for the first time.

So that's basically it. They weren't terrible buts, so that's why I gave it a 4 stars. It's a good book, just not an excellent one.

Maybe I should wait to write a review until I try the miracle morning for awhile. Haha! I don't consider myself a morning person, although I already do some of the things discussed in this book that are supposed to help a day go well - meditation (or prayer in my case) and exercise. I am excited to try incorporating some of the other suggestions and had never thought of starting my day doing some of these things: getting up well before my kids, brushing teeth right away, getting a large glass of water first thing (which I never do and I know I never drink enough water), reciting affirmations, vizualization, reading, and scribing (journal writing which I usually only do once a week). I'll see how it goes fitting these things in each morning. This particular mircle morning book also had a lof of parenting advice and how taking good care of yourself (eating well, becoming financially free, decluttering, etc) will help a person be a better parent. It gives some other advice about playing with your kids, being consistent, taking responsibility for your actions, etc. The beginning of the book about the miracle morning was more interesting to me than the parenting advice. Looking forward to some good productive mornings!

This book is very similar to miracle morning, but with a twist on parenthood.

Author “parents and children who show a high degree of connectedness enjoy spending time together, communicate freely and openly, support and respect one another and have a sense of optimism about the future.”

1. Don’t over schedule
2. Let your kids see you prioritize family meals -even if they don’t join, they know you are available.
3. Have one on one dates with each child
4. Stick to a bedtime ritual/same time for school nights different ritual on weekends or vacations.

David Osborn- “I think that by realizing that the timeline you have on earth is getting shorter, whatever it is, whenever the end is, makes you not want to waste any time on silly anxiety, wasteful activities or behaviors, and being anxious is a wasteful behavior. I need to be fully present to whatever my goals and missions are and being a dad is one of them. I don’t serve my child by having anxiety over serving my child.”

Me- Well put. Sometimes I think that anxiety is a clue that something is out of orbit with the decisions I am choosing and my body is telling me “alert, alert, change something up, this isn’t right for you.”

This has some good tips and suggestions, but the organization and layout was all over the place. I felt like I was trying to follow the author's train of thought throughout the book.

There is a bit of upper class privilege in the book, such as when the author suggests hiring a nanny or house cleaner to make time for the things you need to do... as if that is the simple answer for all of us. The parenting profiles are also from successful people in the business world, who live in the same upper class as the author.

There are some helpful tips but I didn't glean anything new since I've already read the original Miracle Morning book.

Presents a far more succinct and well-explained version of the original author's "miracle morning" premise, along with some good suggestions for adapting it to accommodate challenging parenting schedules or provide a modified version for kids to start their day. The rest of it seems like a smorgasbord of parenting advice padding out the book. It's all, however, reasonably good advice.

4,5⭐️

I've read 2 or 3 of these books, and this one is my least favorite. It seemed redundant, drawn-out, and disorganized. I skimmed the profiles because I wasn't gaining anything from them. A little bummed about this one. And every few paragraphs referred to getting the playbook. Why not leave out the profiles and include the playbook stuff?

Get up out of bed earlier to give yourself time to yourself, in which you can reflect on life and the day ahead, meditate, exercise, write a diary, repeat life affirmations. This is the overall gist but it also talks about how to have a calm present family life in general.
