When American virologist Angela Disler, a potential Nobel Prize nominee, vanishes from a conference in Alexandria, Egypt, the CIA and the FBI quickly spring into action. The job of getting her back is given to Bryan Harb, a deep cover CIA asset in the Middle East, and Mordecai Ben-Gurion, a Mossad intelligence agent. With the assistance of Jordanian intelligence and the US Military, the investigation suddenly goes into overtime when the two men learn that what she knows could bring the civilized world to its knees. "Abducted" is a riveting thriller that will keep you turning pages until the very end.
During his career as a Head Deputy District Attorney in Los Angeles, Peter S. Berman oversaw the daily operations in a series of courthouses and specialized divisions, including the Hardcore Gang Division, the Sex Crimes Division, and the Career Criminal Division. He retired in 2002.
He has lectured and trained prosecutors throughout the United States for the National Prosecutors College. His work has been profiled on a number of television shows, including CBS’s Sixty Minutes.
From 2008-2018, he donated his time as a Specialist Volunteer with LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division, Cold Case Specials Unit, where he actively investigated unsolved homicide cases. He has been honored by the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division as their 2008 Reserve Officer of the Year. In 2003, the United States Secret Service presented him with the Director's Recognition Award.
I've read all of Berman's books and am a complete addict at this point. Of all his books, Abducted freaked me out the most, and I mean that as a compliment. Like most thrillers, the story could happen in real life, but the story of Angela Disler and her job as a virologist really added to the tension of the story and definitely messed with my mind when I went to my own job (I work with the public).
