[Siren Allure Erotic Alternative Paranormal Romance, M/M, werewolves, HEA] Kayden recently returned to his birth pack. He'd never liked the old alpha, Declan. Jared, he likes too much. It's bad enough having to juggle an unfriendly coworker, a hostile pack beta, and the mess in his apartment. It's worse having to do it while keeping his hands off Jared. In any other circumstances, he would have made a move. But propositioning a pack alpha? That's not the best idea. Jared bided his time for years to take over the pack. Since Declan had his heir picked up, he had to hide and pretend he didn't want to lead. Luckily, that's now over, and the pack is firmly in his grasp. However, he is not done yet. There are one or two minor his beta being among them. Jared already has a plan for Brent. Now if only Kayden would cooperate. And what if he wants more from Kayden? It is after all, an alpha's prerogative. ** A Siren Erotic Romance
Sunny Day's main preoccupation in life is reading and/or writing books, though she much prefers reading what someone else wrote. She is thirty something, single, and can usually be found attached to her laptop. Her only form of exercise is bouncing up and down when whatever story she is working on shapes well.
The world building was a little rocky... don't want to say thrown in the deep end and learned to swim... but it was definitely NOT smooth sailing.
That's not the only thing that didn't quite flow without hiccups. The relationship between Jared and Kayden had connection problems. The connection is there, it forms but it's not quite followed through successfully for me. The sex bits had a bit of hookup feeling as opposed to building intimacy.
I did not like this book for many reasons. I just could not get into it. I felt like I had been dropped into the middle of a series. There were just too many characters and too much past history that I didn't know. The characters just appeared as though I should have already known them. They had no background or information to place them within the story. I did not like Jared. He was an ass. If we were supposed to feel some kind of loving relationship between Jared and Kayden then I couldn't see it. They had sex and that was all it was. Maybe a part of my dislike was the writing. I shouldn't have to work so hard to try and figure out what is being said and by whom. It's very hard to enjoy a story when it just doesn't flow.
