While I can see people from Hawaiian culture connecting with this book culturally, for people from the mainland or elsewhere it can only establish or reinforce stereotypes about Hawaiian people and their culture for children who do not live here (Hawaii).

this book is pure plagiarism at its worst. For the REAL books this one was stolen from, read Barbara Joosse's, Mama Do You Love Me?, Papa Do You Love Me?, and Grandma Calls Me Beautiful
