Exercise Expired is the sixth story in the Missy DeMeanor Cozy Mystery Series, but these books can be enjoyed in any order. However, if you absolutely prefer to read series in order, please start with Flea Market Fatal.
The big wedding day is fast-approaching. Joining her friends from WiredFit for a long weekend exercise getaway, Missy is determined to drop those stubborn last ten pounds and look her best for her fiancée, Tyler Brock. After working her tail off at the new tea shop non-stop, it's the perfect opportunity to step back and take some much needed time for herself.
But anywhere Missy goes, mystery is never far behind!
And when a woman she’s just met turns up dead at this remote camp, Missy starts asking questions. The dead woman had contentious relationships with nearly everyone there. At first, her death looks accidental but then Missy's not so sure ...
Exercise Expired is a cozy mystery with plenty of twists, turns, humor, and a little bit of romance.
I am so happy to say I enjoyed this book. I have lost faith in the last couple books in the series, but it’s back to where I can enjoy it again. I love everything about this particular book, I can’t really put into words. The mystery is really interesting, the relationship development is quite fascinating, and how supportive and unbiased Lee support and work out teams are quite inspiring to some extent. And it’s also nice to see that not everybody is friendly, I was a little disappointed we didn’t get to see much about the fleamarket’s, in this particular book. But I do look forward to seeing more of that and follow up books to this serious
Missy works hard in this one, not only to solve a mystery, but with her training at WiredFit, and busy at her job. Missy is so determined to get in shape that she made my muscles ache just reading about it. I love the way Missy works on her body while working on trying to solve a mystery. I only hope that this series isn't over. I have become attached to these characters and would like to see what is in store for Noreen at the tea shop and see if there will be a Wedding in Missy's future.
kindle unlimited but got as 6 set for free, and as usual focus on cover picture where 1 does not even look chubby much less anything more 2 focuses on her weight where all the sudden she only had '10 more pounds to lose' really based on what/what starting point & what description that was never really given 3 for a 'busty' bbw she sure looks thinnish & not at all tall nor 'busty' in any of the pictures nor in any of the clothing not even the lower cut ones, another ho hum yuck fall into the answer, supposedly, while the professionals are totally 'clueless' yet just going through accusing person after person of the crime until someone admits it and/or tries to kill her but gets caught doing that. Another 'book' full of grammar issues, typos, other varying issues mentioned in other reviews, cardboard 1 note characters, small town where everybody knows everybody even if was way before or way after the others were in school, until they don't/never really knew the person after all, ridiculous reasons for killing people and even more ridiculous ways supposedly happened and all without there being no way {bull crap} the police couldn't have figured out the amount of time, the timeline, etcetera, juvinile characters and juvelile writing except for fact giving too much credit/aged to 'book'.

- [ ] Typos. The never end! - [ ] The interviews Missy has with detectives or cops in general are all exactly the same in every book! - [ ] In chapter 4 her description of the area was ‘muddy’ for a lack of a better word seemed scrabbled & with a lack of concentration on how it was being written. - [ ] I vow to NEVER read a Brianna Bates book again in my life! Her story flow is so off, the typos are ridiculous & sometimes she uses the wrong words. Or example: “Had always been friendly in a high- and-Goodbye sort of way” WHAT?!! How are you an author! - [ ] This book is slow and Missy’s investigating skills have not bettered its the same routine. I ask too many questions and everyone is on high alert around me if it has to do with a dead body. It’s the same thing. There is no character evolvement to keep you reading. - [ ] Tyler’s “problem” seemed so random, out of left field & unnecessary!
I lagged so much in this book! I had no desires in reading it. I’m so disappointed that this series turned out the way it did! It the first thing I read since a hiatus from reading (not by choice). I hold books to a certain letter and certain standard. & I’m so let down by the grammatical errors, plot problems & the abrupt endings in each book of the series. This series gets 2 ⭐️ as an average for all 6 books!

In this sixth and final installment in the series, Missy has been signed up by her friend Marie to attend a weekend training camp for the annual Celtic Games. They'll be pushing themselves harder than they've ever done, and Missy isn't ready for this. But ready or not, she's going to do it, even if it kills her. But it doesn't; in fact, someone else gets killed and Missy is sure it's murder. Now she has to figure out who did the deed. But unless she figures it out quick -- in two days a murderer will go free...
This is the last book, so I really had expected more of it. A lot of the book was all the exercising Missy was doing, and I really didn't care. That had to be over half of the book. I was also stumped by something one of the attendees told her to do, then did not do it themself. That seemed odd and out of place. I also found it odd that these health nuts would be smoking. It just did not ring true.
To top it off, the ending seemed unfinished. There was so much more that needed to be said, and never was. It was almost as if the author was going to write another book and never did. So I was a bit disappointed in that. When the ending comes and the killer is revealed, the reasons are believable enough, but again, I wished for more from the last pages.
I received this book free from one of the book sites. I do not remember which one! This is my honest review. Missy has been signed up for the Celtic Games...while she has been going to the gym, she's not sure how much she will be able to accomplish. She meets someone new who insults her within the first minute & not much later Missy & Marie find the same woman dead! As Missy trains for the games, she works on solving the woman's death. Was it an accident? Or was it murder?
Thus was an excellent book. It was easy to relate to the main character doing her best to improve her form and then she impressed everybody by solving a murder at the same time!
The writing style was extremely fluid and the editing was excellent.
The title caught my attention and I have been captivated by all Brianna Bate's series. I love the setting almost like Spartan Obstacle Workouts. Diverse characters each had an issue with the victim awesome storyline. Relatable characters. Looking forward to reading more of Brianna's books.
Working now in the tea room, a wedding come up with Tyler. Her last time for herself, and maybe to lose those last few pounds, at this exercise getaway. One participant, didn’t fit in, and was it an accident or murder.
This read more like a motivational exercise manual than a cozy mystery, I still don't like the characters, and I had to skim through to make it to the end. Only good thing? Noreen was absent.
Cute, clean mystery series that keep you guessing. The cliques of friends and frenemies is so normal it makes the scenes real. Definitely fun, page turning reading.
Cute series, got old when reading all the books one after the other though. This is the last book in the series, but it didn't feel like the end. Perhaps another is coming?
The truth will always be revealed in the end. It is best to just try to live your life according to the rules and not take chances that will get you in trouble later.
