She will not be his second choice…

When champion bronc rider Ty Harding returns home after four long years on the road, the first thing he does is look up Shelby O’Connor—the woman who begged him to stay. The woman he still loves.

Horse trainer Shelby O’Connor truly believes she’s over Ty—until he shows up on her family ranch and turns her world upside down. Shelby isn’t a big one for second chances, but she’s all about proving that she and Ty are done. But when she discovers that Ty plans to head back out on the rodeo circuit, despite his injuries, she has to come to terms with the fact that maybe she isn’t as over him as she thought she was. And now she has to decide what to do about that.

Will history repeat itself, or will Ty and Shelby get another chance at love?

Some Spoilers

Catch Me, Cowboy the 1st book in the 78th Copper Mountain Rodeo Series was a great read. Sexy cowboys, second chance love, and a sweet Gramps what's not to love? 4 years ago Shelby and Ty broke up and it hurt them both. He wanted her to come on the road with him while he was in the rodeo and she wanted him to give up the rodeo and stay. They went their own way. Years later Ty is back in town and he wants to pick up where he left off with Shelby.

"Four years is long time. I've never stopped thinking about you." She stared at him for a moment. Was he honestly going here? Trying to pick things up again? "Are you saying that you made the wrong choice four years ago? When he'd chosen rodeo over staying and making a life with her? "I made the only choice I could." The only choice he could make was rodeo? A spark of anger flickered to life. "But now that your career is over"-ended by a mare who'd gone down and crushed him more than half a year ago-"you're back?" She let out a snort. "I can't tell you how much I appreciate being your contingency plan."-Ty and Shelby

From the start of this book it was clear to see that Ty and Shelby were still in love with each other. They were both deeply hurt over their break up. For the first few chapters I was right there with Shelby, angry at Ty for choosing the rodeo over her. I wanted her to give him hell. To keep him at arm's length, and she did. But as the story went on I found out that he wanted her to go with him and that if she didn't go he still wanted to be together. She was the one that made him choose her or the rodeo and then broke it off with him. That was when I softened on Ty.

 photo tumblr_mtspjxJ0A21s5suo9o1_400_zpssq78oarx.gif

"For the record, we are not getting back together, and if that hadn't been your intentions then I misread the situation and I apologize." "You didn't misread." Not one bit. "And you've made your feelings on the matter damned clear." "I'm glad we understand each other." "We don't." -Shelby and Ty

Ty was so sexy. After 4 years he still loved Shelby and wanted her. He was stubborn and he was going to do his best to win her back. I love that he was true to himself and was honest with Shelby. As the book went on I was more on Ty's side.

"Do you want me to admit I made a mistake? Even though we both had shit to work out and it probably wasn't a mistake? Is there something about hearing those words that makes everything better? Because, if so, I'll say them. I made a mistake. But so did you. I think we could have worked our way through things if you hadn't slung ultimatums at me. It didn't have to be all or nothing. Other people manage relationship while they're on the road."-Ty

Shelby was scared. She lost her mom and watching Ty riding scared her. So she pushed him away. I can understand it but at times I was frustrated with her. She was very strong in some ways but she had major abandonment issues. She loved Ty and it showed but she was so scared to lose him that it was like she was straddling the fence when they got back together.

"Sometimes you got to cut loose and take a risk." "I did. And the aftermath was not pretty." She lifted her chin to meet his gaze. "I ached for you, Ty. I'd wake up in the middle of the night wanting you so badly. It really, really hurt." "Yet you never called me."-Ty and Shelby

Ty and Shelby together had an undeniable connection, but they had some major relationship drama. Some push/pull in this book but it wasn't over the top. I really liked Shelby's Gramps. I thought he brought something special to the book. I was disappointed that even though they loved each other, I don't remember any I love yous being said. I really enjoyed this quick sexy cowboy read. I liked the rodeo aspect of it. I kept hearing Garth Brooks's song Rodeo in my head the whole time I was reading this book! And the ending was very cute!

"I'm not leaving you, Shelby. Whether or not I ride, I'm not leaving you."-Ty

Catch Me Cowboy, The 78th Copper Mountain Rodeo: Book 1,  Jeannie Watt

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre:  Romance

Liked the sound of this, love the horses and second chance romance mix so it sounded a perfect read for me.

Well, I liked it but I didn’t love it, didn’t really feel that much tension between the two, didn’t feel all the deep drama I was expecting.

Its one of those that's an easy read, satisfying and plays out well, and of course for many readers that's just perfect. For me though I felt I needed more drama, needed more action.
Somehow what seemed a impasse four years back hasn’t really changed, and they’re both so stubborn that they make it into a real storm in teacup scenario.
I needed to feel that their reasons for parting and staying apart were stronger, that it was more than just sheer stubbornness and foolishness that kept them apart.
I find it hard that two people so deeply in love would just give up like that, and so though their reunion made for a fun and flirty read its not one I’d re-read.

Stars: Three, a decent story and an easy relaxing read, but a little light for me.

Really sweet story! Ty really hurt Shelby when he left her 4 years ago. He chose the rodeo circuit rather than a life on the ranch. Ty invited Shelby to come with him but she refused. Now Ty is back in town. But for how long? And does his plans include Shelby this time?

Welcome back to Marietta Montana for the running of The 78th Copper Mountain Rodeo – hold onto your hats and hearts, it’s gonna be an interesting ride.

Catch Me, Cowboy is an emotional ride where one moment you’ll be on Shelby’s side, then you’ll “get” why Ty made the decision he did – but most of all you’ll ache for two people who obviously love each other still. It’s been four years since that final phone call, four long years without the other person who made them each stronger. Four long years since an ultimatum tore them apart. Now, less than a year since Ty was involved in a career ending ride, he’s back and planning on stepping into the arena again… and on winning back the woman he’s always loved. He’d worked hard at his recovery, even his doctors were amazed at how quickly he’d healed up. Yet, he needed one last ride, one last chance to sit on the back of an animal who was just as determined to toss him off. Right now, he didn’t know if the circuit was for him again, but he needed to know that if it was available that he could ride again. Maybe he was crazy, driven… and maybe he simply had to make the choice to walk away from it on his terms.

Shelby knew Ty was back before he’d driven up the long gravel driveway. Marietta’s main gossip had done her job well. Didn’t mean she’d looked forward to this, didn’t mean that the hurt at his decision had healed. No, it was just one more day to get through. One more time to face the man she’d loved and try to figure out how to live in the same small town with him.

Circumstances, or fate had conspired to toss them together far more often than Shelby was comfortable with. But Gramps needed help, and Ty was well versed in handling the older gentleman.

In the coming days Shelby would have to face some harsh realities, deal with her fears and make a choice of loving Ty or watching him walk away again. Ty had something to prove to himself, but he also needed Shelby to face the part that she had in his decision back then. He knew they would have torn each other apart… but that happened anyway. There were reasons that he was just now coming to see, and if he couldn’t help her face them and get past them – then they had no chance at all.

It’s always a joy for me to return to Marietta, Montana. And the kickoff story to The 78th Copper Mountain Rodeo series was an amazing start. Ultimatums rarely lead to happy endings. This was a lesson that Shelby learned the hard way. I truly did ache for this young woman, especially as the story continues and a better idea of why she made that ultimatum in the first place emerges. Ty had been caught between a rock and a very hard place, he was mature enough back then to realize that if he stayed it would tear them apart – and knew that when he did leave it would also end what they had. So, even though it’s easy to put the blame on Ty early on… his choice was the right one, for maybe the wrong reasons.

Catch Me, Cowboy is a heart wrenching second chance love story. You may pick one side or the other, but you won’t walk away unemotionally from this story. I would highly recommend Ty and Shelby’s story to any Romance reader who needs the deeper connection, the reasons behind the decisions – and charming, believable characters. If you haven’t visited Marietta Montana before, this would be a lovely introduction.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this novel. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this story.*

Describing Catch Me Cowboy as light, fun and flirty would be a step too far, but this is a really good read, if a little angsty. It's very much a story of second chances for both Shelby and Ty, who parted company four years earlier when career paths and family loyalties got in the way. Set in and around the fictitious town of Marietta Montana, this is a small town story with all the heart that goes with that sort of tale. I liked both Shelby and Ty, though I kept wanting to tell Shelby to lighten up a little. I enjoyed the flow of this story and I liked the way things worked out. I zipped through the pages and really enjoyed the journey. This story is perfect rainy day reading.

This was a wonderful book, the first in the Harding Brothers series by Jeannie Watt. This book features Ty Harding who has announced his retirement from the rodeo after suffering a horrible injury. He has returned to his hometown of Marietta Montana to try and win back his ex girlfriend Shelby O’Connor. Ty also has decided to try and return to the rodeo as it’s the only thing he knows to do. He is going to try a comeback at the Marietta rodeo. Each time he tries to talk to Shelby it doesn’t go well. Then she comes to him to ask him to take part time work helping her grandfather with their ranch. He accepts and the two have some uncomfortable conversations. Both realize they are still in love with the other but their life choices are causing problems. There is a lot of angst. The romance is sweet. It is not certain what the future will be for the couple as they begin to share honest feelings. A five star read by Jeannie Watt.

Catch Me, Cowboy by Jeannie Watt is an entertaining read. Ms Watt has delivered a well-written book. The characters are lovable and fun to read. Shelby and Ty's story is a second chance romance. There is plenty of drama, humor, action and spice to keep readers turning the pages in this book. I enjoyed reading Catch Me, Cowboy and would happily read more from Jeannie Watt in the future. Catch Me, Cowboy is book 1 of The 78th Copper Mountain Rodeo Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

This is the 1st book in the 78th Copper Mountain Rodeo. Shelby O'Connor and Ty Harding have a past together that ended 4 years ago when Ty pursued a bronco busting title on the rodeo circuit. Ty is now back in Marietta, MT following a year of retirement from the rodeo following a very bad accident. Shelby is busy with the family ranch, a stubborn grandfather ignoring his health concerns, and her job as a horse trainer. Is there a second chance in their future? A predictable romance, but a nice visit to a small town with a rodeo.

Love: Ty and Shelby

What a modern day and wonderful novel. Ty and Shelby fell in love at a young age but both of them needed to grow up and mature. Love, maturity, wisdom, and understand all go into a relationship. Ty and Shelby finally realized that after four years apart but their reunion did have a HEA, this is their lovely story.

Years and time

Years and time. Seem to be what they both needed. They were apart and finding their dreams. Or so they thought. Getting hurt and coming home. Seems to heal them. Now they are finding new dreams together.
