Everyone wants to Takeover the streets. Who will come out on top?
“Family isn’t everything; it’s the only thing,” has been the code Tyrik Anderson, aka, Tye has lived by since his first child came into the world and breathed his first breath twenty-one years ago. However, just because Tyrik lives by codes and morals, that doesn’t mean his son Shy does. When Tye’s connect Carlos is viciously robbed, Carlos vows vengeance against all involved. Circumstances causes Tye to exit the game, however, he soon learns that he’s more involved now than ever before. Tye has no idea what’s going on around him, but he’ll soon find out that the same person he’s willing to take a bullet for, also happens to be the same one behind the gun.
Although raised by one of the city’s most respected drug dealers, Shy just can’t seem to stop fucking up. Cars, clothes, and trust funds aren’t enough to an ungrateful Shy, who seems to would rather trade the streets over his comfortable lifestyle. Instead of listening to his father, Shy chooses to embrace the streets with his two friends Drama and Rum. Up to no good, and with ill intentions, they soon begin what will ultimately be a bloody war in the streets.
Tye’s daughter Tasha seems to be doing it all right, and to her, it’s finally paying off. Enrolled in college and successfully running her dad’s business, she still finds time to make room for love. Rich is like a dream come true to a naive Tasha. However, just like her father and brother, he’s tied to the streets in more ways than one.

Okay, surprisingly, this book held my attention. I've read so much street literature over the years that I find many of the stories stupid, the same, and just boring. This one held me from beginning to end. I understood why Tye did what he did for the love of his family. I also understood when he decided that enough was enough, and times needed to change (all for family again). However; what do you do to stop your child from following in your footsteps. Tye, single parent did what he thought was right to give his kids a leg up in life. That decision comes with life altering changes, and eventually Karma comes to visit. I am curious to see how The, fights, Karma and saves his children or will he have to choose between them. One selfish and spoiled, and just wants more and more. The other appreciative of what was provided, and smart enough to know that it came with a cost.
Wow! That was the first word that came to mind. I normally don't read thug books because they always have the same consequences. This book ended on a very high note and I hope the sequel doesn't let me down.
Shy, a young man whose father came into monetary success as a drug dealer, feels that he wants his comeuppance. His friends know that he's weak and so they manipulate him. His father understands that he has no business acumen and can't trust him to run his legitimate business (landscaping). Shy wants to takeover the streets and decides to rob the biggest kingpin in the business and during the robbery, something awful happens......
Thrilling and includes action from all perspectives; Shy's friends are true street thugs and causing issues on the street with other drug dealers. Hanging in places he shouldn't be in and now his family's life may be on the line because of his stupidity. Enjoy reading.
4.5 1st read by this author. Good storyline and urban drama. Shy has made a huge mistake trying to make a comeup. Tye definitely knows his son. Looking forward to reading the next part.
In this story we see someone dying to fit in and be accepted....following the footsteps of others instead of leading. I don't know how Shy is going to get out of this one now that Carlos has recognized who he is, but I pray his actions haven't cost the lives of his innocent father and sister!! War time!!
This was my first time reading anything of this writer's work, and I have to say she hits the mark. The story not only holds your interest but it makes you feel some the emotions. In Shy we see the kid trying to.follow in big foot steps and going about it all wrong. My only problem is that the story ended when it feels like it should've continued on.The was solid writing ,with a good storyline.
I enjoyed. Will purchase book 2. It was Street, but with morals and motives. Author has clean writing-sometimes Street books can be disgusting and leave a bad taste, but not this book.
The dynamics going on with all of the characters was really intense. I felt so sorry for Shy because he desperately wanted to be a thug. Sadly, he found out the in this life you have to be careful of what you ask.
Talk about good kid gone bad and done pulled the whole family into chaos and unnecessary DRAMA! This Shy dude isn’t gonna stop until he’s six feet under! A hard head is gonna make a dead a..! In this case! Can’t wait to read the second book!
Even tho this is my first time reading this Author work...I was not disappointed! I luved how it started out action packed! All the way to the end! Great Read...
Oh it’s about to go down! This is very entertaining read! Well written, nice flow! Applause to this author! On to part 2 i can’t wait to see what happens!
In the world of wannabes, Shy is king. This fool has had everything handed to him, doesn't deserve it and has the nerve to get pissy when he's called on his bullshit. I have a feeling that he will be standing alone when the truth comes out.
This was a real page turner from start to finish highly recommend it I can't Wait to starts on the second one I hope shy get everything Carlos has coming for him
