Florida's Seashells , the bestselling guide for beachcombers, is now updated and expanded in a new edition. This new volume has more shells identified and explained, with 287 species represented by over 400 full-color images and 175 range maps. This book showcases the diversity of Florida's seashells and presents them in the way they come to us on beaches. Knowing the names, stories, and varied appearances of seashells can sharpen a beachcomber's eyes to their beauty and rarity, and offer collectors an outlet for the appreciation of nature's splendor. The book's elegant organization allows easy identification of seashells common to the southeastern United States and the Caribbean. Other Pineapple Press guides for the curious
The author really does well with describing where to find certain shells with showing keys, a map, and with their own words. It also gives you facts about how to classify them. If I had to make this book interesting I would say put some weird facts or interesting facts like what the shell is known for. All of it is very realistic since it is a beachcomber’s guide.
Photographs of shells and variations along with Florida coastal maps are grouped and include interesting facts, history or current issues with specific mollusks and their shells. Beautiful and thorough treatment of many tidal treasures, their tracks and egg cases or sand collars.
