Maude is excited to make her Broadway debut, and at the chance to mentor her new protégée to become the next musical sensation. But when Thomas Bradfield is cast as her love interest in Violet’s Voice, Maude will have to make sure that their messy history doesn’t destroy everything she’s worked so hard for, including her relationship with Matt. With her relationship on the line, can writing the lyrics of a French song help her confront her past, and build a future with Matt?
Born in France, raised partly in the United States and in France, Anna grew up loving stories in French and English.
Anna is the author of “A French Girl in New York” that garnered millions of reads on Wattpad. She currently lives in the beautiful city of Paris. And when not in France, Anna enjoys writing in libraries all over the world.
Upon returning from her world tour, Maude takes on the mentorship of a young girl Grace, whom she met at the Children's Haven. Grace is a difficult mentee, but Maude is determined to get her through the audition for the musical Maude is starring in and has written songs for. Meanwhile Maude's cousin Jazmine is still trying to hold together her all-girl rock band and get some music videos made to garner attention for them. The director of the musical wants to garner publicity by having Maude, Matt, Thomas, and Lindsey appear together in public, which all of them hate, but Maude agrees in order to give Grace a shot at a role in the play. For the same reason, she agrees to write a French song for the musical. More about Grace's background comes out, and Maude's young cousin Ben is beginning to have feelings for her - more brotherly than Grace would prefer. Another cousin, Cynthia, is finding that she is unhappy in the world of corporate law - she and her husband Daniel would rather be doing human rights activism. When singing her French song in the musical, Maude finally manages to convey to Matt that she loves him. There is a lot going on in this book, and it seemed rather jerky - too many stories going on at once. Perhaps because the author was trying to wrap up everything - all the different plots and characters - in one book. I enjoyed reading the series, but six books are enough; I think I'll find something else to go on with!
May 2021 Rereading the series. Thank goodness this is the last book - Maude is beginning to get rather annoying with all her dramas. This book was all over the place - maybe trying to tie up too many loose ends for all the characters. I'm done with this.
This was by far my favourite book in the french girl series. An emotional rollercoaster that took me completely by surprise. I love the simplicity of the plot and the amazing characters bring it to life. My only complaint would be that it moves too quickly. I feel like the issues with the character's relationships should be prolonged and focused on more deeply. Other than that I find this on my top ten list of fav books this year.
Amazing series, unfortunately, all series must come to an end. I was devastated when I was reading this book. I really do want to know what happens next. With Maude and Matt. Amazing book. Love it as much as I like The Harry Potter Series.

I loved the end...Can't wait for the seventh book to find out about Grace, Jasmine and MauMa....Waiting impatiently.. PS Thomas nearly spoiled EVERYTHING for MauMa..I really do not like him
I absolutely love this series. Not only are the characters well developed, but also, the whole story is realistic. It doesn’t paint a picture of perfection, just regular characters with regular faults yet some with absolutely charming qualities. Also, I love the fact that Anna creates memorable events for her characters. I really love MauMa. They’re such a cute couple. The series is definitely worth reading.
