Beauty of the Twentieth Century

Rate this book
The history of female beauty encompasses the heroines of antiquity to the goddesses of modern times. Every era chooses its own archetypes, shapes its own legends and invents its own formulas.

This is the first book dedicated to the universal history of beauty. Read about the history of art, cosmetics, magazines, perfumes, and, above all, the story of our century's unbridled search for novelty, which has given rise to numerous standards of perfection, both mythic and ephemeral.

Photos of cover girls, princesses, divas, rock stars and anonymous beauties throughout this book reflect the cult of beauty in the mirror of our own time.

Great book on the history of cosmetics in the 20th century. It's definitely one to keep in my library.
