Dnf 90%.
I had to check while reading this novella, if YAOI meant non-consensual predatory seduction, but no that's not what YAOI means.

So.
This is the story of a 28 year old night club owner seducing his friend's 18 year old sweet little twink brother, who:
-says he is gay because his idol, his older brother, is gay,
-doesn't know how gay men practice sex,
-answers to the question "have you ever kissed someone?" with "yes, my mother",
-thinks he's a top because his idol, his older brother, says he is a top,
-thinks being a top is lying on top of the other man (remember, he doesn't know what sex between men means).

The older man keeps telling the young boy he just wants to show him how he should act during sex since he claims to be a top.
The "innocent" young boy (the author keeps calling him a small and young boy, never a man) gets fucked by the older man without a condom because the older man has been in love with the young boy since he had seen a picture of him two years ago.

This didn't feel like consent at all, but like a predator seducing a clueless child. Without protection.

Overall, yes you guessed it, 1 star 🤮

This was ridiculous. And I liked it anyway.

Cody’s hero is his older brother, Mike. Cody wants to be like Mike, even though Mike is big and muscular and Cody is tiny and skinny. So when Mike announces he is gay, Cody announces this too. Of course Cody is 12 at the time and has no idea what being gay means.

When Cody is 18, he attends the same university as his brother, so they both share an apartment. It is there that Cody meets Jared, a friend of Mike, but also the owner of the gay bar where Mike works. Jared eventually persuades protective Mike to let Cody work at the same bar.

Cody is totally clueless to all things gay. So when Mike tries to explain what a top or a bottom means, Cody is confused. But since Mike proclaims to be a total top, Cody just says he is too.

Mike doesn’t quite want to leave small twinky Cody so clueless, but their conversation also helps protect Cody.

“So, this is important, and I need you to trust me on this; when you get hit on at the bar, and you will get hit on, you need to be honest and upfront about which kind of gay you are. You know, so you don’t lead anybody on. If another guy asks you out, or wants to take you home, the first thing you need to say to them is ‘I only top’. Understand?”
“I only top,” Cody said slowly.
Mike nodded, “Yes, exactly right, and say it just like that. And if they lose interest, well then, they aren’t worth your time anyway. Okay?”
“Okay. But if someone is fine with it, that's good with you?”
His brother smiled widely, “If someone is willing to let you top them, then yeah, they are good in my book.”

But luckily Jared is there to help ‘educate’ sweet innocent Cody…

Cody was EXTREMELY naive. It was kind of adorable, but felt very very childlike. But hey, once you decide to ignore this (and the ridiculous things being said about being a top or a bottom), this was a fun read.

Re-read Sept 2020 - yea generally not my favourite by her, but not bad. And I re-read it for smut, just like I said I should 4 years ago :-).



Meh, this was ok. Sex was still pretty hot but Cody is the biggest idiot in the history of all idiots! And Jared is pretty sleazy, but whatever. This story should be read for the smut only.

I found myself laughing out loud many times while reading this book. The naïveté and sweet innocence of the main character led to some hilarious situations. This was short, funny, and sexy - highly recommended!

Very clever.

I enjoyed the wordplay between these two, especially considering the likelihood that Cody might be playing Jared. If he's not, then Jared's a bit of a jerk - pushing Cody into a situation it doesn't seem like he's ready for. That whole aspect of the story seemed a bit rapey to me.

But that's the point here, this author does a great job of pushing boundaries and riding the edge. You can expect a hot first time scene here where the older man is coaxing the virgin into 'going all the way' and it works.

Cute, funny, simple and hot. Kind of embarrassed to say it met all my kinks and more. Not something to be taken seriously, but sometimes that's what I look for in books. I would actually love to read more in this 'verse.

I know that this book is ridiculously implausible. However, let me say it, I LOVEEEEEE it! It's so hilarious and cute and sweet. I laughed my head off at the remarks that gullible and naive Cody made. Simply hilarious .. and sooo very cute. And Jared, oh that wily old fox is a very cunning and manipulative, sexy bastard. I love how he protected his plump hen from other predators. Really really an adorable story. And the twist with Cody's big brother Mike, my my .. I didn't see that one coming. And that's why I love Miss Rae's works .. you might think there's nothing extraordinary about her works if you don't look into it but for every story, she gives me something special and something to remember her works and each and every story is a standout for me. I want a big longer epilogue though.

Even the other MC admits to being obsessed with Cody from a picture taken when he was, at most, 16.

It is like reading a yaoi. Meaning, there is a girly uke and a possessive seme. Meaning, the uke is a virgin, inexperienced of the world (he is gay but doesn't even know how men have sex... or what a top or bottom is), innocent (read as idiot). To me, it was like reading a shotacon (yuck). Cory was way too boyish, in looks and in personality. And he was short and skinny (a twink), while Jared was older (he was always referred as "older man"), bigger and more experienced. It was like a bear falling for a little boy (yuck). It was Jared himself who told Cory that he fell for him the first time he looked at Cory in a photograph: it was because Cory looked so young and innocent and whatever. And how Jared teaches Cory how to be a "top" made me think that this was the way pedophiles seduce boys. So this was not really romantic, but rather disturbing.

Oh, and at the end, when Cory and Jared c)aught Cory's older brother having sex with The Queen (who Cory thought was a girl, but in reality was a drag) was another yuck. Cory talking with his brother while said brother was being impaled by the drag... omg.

The sex was smoking hot, as per usual with Ms. Rae. But Cody is unrealistically naive in a world with cable television and Internet, he is like Amish-Rumspringa levels of naive. It's pretty ridic. And Jerod follows Ms. Rae's typical characterization for the love interest, creepily obsessed with the innocent little blond boy and while he says some really sweet things, he was stil coercive, duplicitous, and pretty sleezy if you think of this scenario in a real world setting. But fiction, so who cares?! Take it for what it is, a hot little number where the innocent young boy unknowingly walks right into the foxes den.

I would love Mike and Queen Fae's story though!

This is the first book that I have read by this author but it won't be my last. I truly enjoyed this short story. Hard to believe someone can be as naive as Cody when they go away to college but it was hot!!

Jared has wanted Cody since he saw his picture but waited until he was old enough. He gave Cody a job and kept a close eye on him until he figured he was ready. Jared seduced the innocent Cody but Cody didn't mind. Cody readily accepts to be Jared's exclusive boyfriend and they go to tell his older brother, Mike. Mistress Fae is in the process of teaching Mike his place as a bottom and not a top as he claims he is when Cody and Jared walk in. In the end both the brothers, Cody and Mike, are to be topped by their new boyfriends.

This story was fun and funny. Twinky Cody wants to be like his older brother, Mike. Mike is gay, so Cody says he's gay. Mike says he's a top, so Cody makes the same declaration. The fun starts when Mike's boss, toppy Jared, takes a fancy to Cody and says he'll "teach" him to be a top.

Teaching the Twink is the story of Cody, his brother Mike, and Mike’s best friend, Jared.



First, I have to mention I like Yaoi. But, I have limits.

Cody adores his older brother Mike. Whatever Mike does or wants Cody does and wants it too. So, when Mike says he’s gay, Cody does too. When Mike moves away to college, Cody follows him. Mike gets him a job at the gay bar where he works, but tells Cody to tell everyone that he only tops. This is to make sure no one lays a hand on Cody. Everyone laughs because Cody is the twinkyist twink anyone has ever seen. Moreover, it doesn’t stop everyone, especially Jared.

The writer portrays Jared as a predator, and Mike calls him ‘Wily Fox’. It’s worse when Cody is referred to as a plump chicken. Cody is extremely naïve even though he’s eighteen. He actually sounds like a boy throughout the story, which makes what happens uber creepy. Jared convinces Cody to have sex, but Cody is willing. It starts with Jared agreeing with Cody that the person on top is the top, even though that’s not the actual meaning. Jared conveys that he has wanted Cody ever since Mike talked about him, so it’s clear Jared is interested Cody, but he starts the relationship with a lie.

Cody acts childish throughout the book, he’s more like a six-year-old, and at one point the author writes that the two compare penis sizes and Cody’s is like a boy’s and Jared’s a man’s. Ewwww, gross. Cody's naivete isn't cute, it's set up to substitute as a child. That just indicates to me that this story was aimed more towards pedophilia than the other Yaoi books by this author.

One thought that crossed my mind is Jared desires Cody because he's young and innocent, like pedophiles like them young. As Cody grows older, will Jared still be interested in him or toss him aside? The kind of person Jared seems to be, 'a shark' as one of the bouncers called him, tells me, once Cody looses his cuteness, Jared will be on to the next young thing. Poor Cody.

The pov switched erratically throughout the story, for a short time it’s Cody’s, then Mike’s, then Jared’s and then the narrator’s interjecting their thoughts. It was confusing and unpleasant.

The random pov changes, and because of the squick factor of the personalities of Cody and Jared, I have to give this book 2 Stars. It just crossed a line for me.
