I saw him standing off to one side at the funeral, but when I looked again, he was gone. I told myself it was just wishful thinking. Ingram didn’t want anything to do with me. After what I’d done on the witness stand during his court martial…he spent five years in the brig because of me.
He would never come looking for me again.
But then he showed up at the lawyer’s office, ready to collect what my father had left for him: the land my business sat on. It was like my dad was, even in death, trying to pull us back together.
The only problem was, Ingram hated me more than any person should be capable of hating another. Just looking at me made him sick. I could see it in his eyes. There was no way we’d ever make this work again…unless…thank God for hurricanes!
For some reason this book reminded me of Donovan's book. It was about Bailey and Ingram. They knew each other, but ended up their relationship when Ingram was accused of assaulting a superior officer and Bailey helped to send him to jail by declaring against him. If you are reading the series, you will have a lot of repeated scenes from the first book, and that can get annoying.
Ingram and Bailey met while in the Navy and secretly married. The problem was she was an officer and he was not and it was against rules for them to be together. When Bailey was manhandled in front of Ingram in a bar one evening everything turned around for them.
Ingram went to the brig for attacking an officer due to the testimony of his wife against him. He never thought he would consider Forgiving Bailey. Bailey's father asked him to keep Bailey safe if something happened to him and Ingram promised. This sets the plot for a good romance with a hurricane, a bomb and attempted murder, and the revelation of all the secrets between these two that have kept them apart for five years.
Gray Wolf Security, Texas has their backs in a very sticky situation that shows how military families stick together.
Bailey and Ingram are in the Navy, she is an officer and he is enlisted they are secretly married.. Fraternization is prohibited and warrants being thrown in the brig which is the Navy's version of prison. While on shore Ingram witnesses Baily being manhandled by her superior officer and breaks his jaw, charges are filed against him. Baily testifies against him and he serves 5 years in the brig and is dishonorably discharged. Ingram hires into Grey Wolf Security 2 and one day runs into Bailey's father who makes him promise if anything happens to him please look after Baily. The next day Baily's father is killed and even though Ingram now hates Baily he honors his promise.
Ingram has a dark past and after coming out from military jail for a crime he really shouldn't have been committed of, he begins to rebuild his life. But the one person who betrayed him, who he trusted beyond a shadow of a doubt is now the one person he has promised to protect. When he has what he thinks is a chance meeting with Bailey's and then is asked to promise to protect her, he agrees. But when that needs to happen faster than he imagined he doesn't know if it possible. Can he find a way to protect her, find the truth, and forgiveness?
This book has a couple twists and the reasons are not always what they seem. I enjoyed this book.
This is a good storyline of a whirlwind romance that started quickly and dissipated even quicker. Two people were brought together once again after a tragic death, but then they needed to work together to save each other. Bailey is being hunted from her past and Ingram is there to help save her. Slowly the love they once shared started to spark between the two of them. Read the book to find out if Bailey and Ingram can survive the past that is haunting them?
There is mystery, sex and protective alpha men, what's not to like. This was interesting with the back story and how it wove together. There was a lot of excerpts from the other books, maybe too many, but it kept the story together. Now on to the next one.
Ingram, an operative of GWS2, was surprised when his father-in-law looked him up to ask him to protect his daughter if anything happened to him. Since Bailey and he were separated he really did not want to promise but he did. Days later his father-in-law was murdered and now the reconciliation to protect begins.
I have read all of the 1st series of Gray Wolf Security (also highly recommend), and I have to say that this series is even better, I can't wait for book 3,
Another very good read from Glenna Sinclair. Very great character development, a suspenseful plot, complex and exciting people to get to know and read about. Ingram and Bailey have a difficult but needed story to tell and this novel does them justice.
Loved the original Gw series, so I love this one too. David and his crew are already bonding. Now lets hope McKay comes on board. His story will be a heartbreaker I'm sure.
Despite some of the redundancy I've found in each of these books, they are well-written and entertaining. I think it's a series worth reading, especially if you're a kindle unlimited subscriber like me.
AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Could NOT put this book down!! I swear.... your Gray Wolf books have entrapped me!!! I loved the tension and the action!! I couldn't wait for them to get together!!
