The man of her dreams may be exactly that. Though Kayla Rowe and her sister seem to have landed among friends, there is more to the men of Forever Faire than meets the eye—particularly Ryan. Kayla has fallen hard for him but can’t trust her senses. Their passionate encounters don’t just leave her breathless. They have her questioning the difference between the real world and her dreams. Fae warrior Ryan Sheridan would like nothing better than to make the lovely mortal his own. But in his painful past, he was punished for just such a thing. Though his men caution him against her, it’s her sister that worries them more. Her mystery grows deeper and darker with every fact they learn. Though Ryan would do anything to keep Kayla, if she is to stay, her sister must go.
Hazel and her husband stopped being separate people years ago. They live their happy life in the always crowded, mostly sunny, and sometimes sweltering city of LA. Though they haven’t managed it yet, plans are afoot to add a kitty to the household, thereby giving the allergist fits.
Hazel has been writing full-time for several years, with some traditionally published work in other genres. But it’s her indie-published romance that fuels the creative fire. It turns out writing isn’t a job, it’s an obsession.
When you can pry Hazel’s fingers from the laptop, you’ll find her: on the elliptical watching a documentary, indulging her audiobook habit, or spending quality time with Candy Crush. Although she’s vegan, she’s a disaster in the kitchen. Luckily, potato chips and pinot noir come ready-made.
This is a continuation of the story of the exiled fae. There is plenty of action and the secondary characters are more developed. Of course this ends in a cliffhanger and now I am wondering when the next book comes out? At first I wasn't sure about the story at it taking place at a renaissance faire, but somehow it worked. This is a different sort of fae that I an used to reading about. Overall it is a very intriguing story.
This was a fair romance read, however, I felt it was way too short at 150 pages (and that's including the preview for the next novel) and for that reason a bit of an ask at $2.99 on Amazon. Sexy fae guys with glamour, girls in need of a rescuing hero, all pretty straightforward.
I've been reading for as long as I can remember. I started with the paranormal when I was 15, by reading Ann Rices Interview with a vampire. Usually I didn't read books without at least 500 pages.
Kindle has given me an appreciation of shorter books, but sometimes I feel like I'm missing pivotal story pieces. These books are good don't get me wrong, I just wish they were longer.
This is a few chapters in a book, but in and of itself, it is not a book. Its like someone took a book, clumped and separated some chapters, and, charged more for the "chapters" than a true book. I have no idea if the story is any good because there isnt any reason for the beginning or the end. Its not even frustrating; its not worth the time.
Another page Turner. The only thing wrong with this book is that it is to short. It sure isn't because of story there is not one thing wrong with the Story!!!
TERRIFIC..ENTERTAINING..LOVE AND LAUGHTER..IT IS ALL HERE I WAS GIVEN THIS BOOK FOR AN HONEST REVIEW ........ OVER 18 + READING Kayla Rowe(25,working as Forever Faire' s groom ) is offering to trade herself to Dirk Blackstone (Dark Fae,leader of a MC gang, has been stalking Kayla and Tara for months) for her little sister Tara(19, working as their seamstress). The Forever Faire (traveling Renfaire) Fae warrior leader Ryan Sheridan(loves Kayla, and had offered them protection) and his warriors Colm(second in command), Jannon(right now into drinking, but hopes for Tara to care for him)were with Kayla looking for Tara. Ryan now thinks Tara is a changeling, dangerous and must go but Kayla refuses to let him send her away. He agrees both may stay, when Kayla is going to go with her and he knows if they leave Forever Faire land Blackstone will get them. But Ryan and Kayla get within a foot of each other and all they want is each other, even if they are disagreeing which this causes you to smile-even laugh. Gavan Dyrak Lawrence Sharpe (handles hiring and getting things needed for everyone) and Wallace Magee(blacksmith, spell tracker) knows more about spells than most, he's the one that figured out about the curse on one of the girls but so strong that it's covering both girls as long as they are together.Christine Marszalek(started working at the hatchet-throw game just before the Rowe sister started) comes to barn to see Kayla, she heard about Blackstone and as she has probably had her own run in with him if so is really hiding from him since she escaped using her own little trick. She has a few surprises coming in her part of the story too. After talking to Christine, Kayla goes to talk to Ryan to tell him she told her to talk to him, about her power(she doesn't know she has)and that she is sure the power comes from Fae blood. It confirms what he though already but he also learns why she ended up there, hiding. The Blackstone will attack them as the crew is dealing with loss of a man and missing women. I can't wait for it to continue.
Title: Outcast Series: Forever Faire Series Note: Book 2 in the series but it does have a cliffhanger ending Author: Hazel Hunter
This is my review of Outcast, the Second book in the Forever Faire Series. I got this second book in the series free in exchange for an honest review. This is the continuation of a great world and it can't be read as a standalone. Be warned though you will not want to stop with just this one book and you will want to know the whole series. The book moves at a good pace and keeps you interested. Sadly it ended too fast for me and I can't wait for part 3.
(((SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU HAVE NOT READ PART 1))) This book picks up right where part one ended. Kayla stepped out to try to save her sister Tara from the Dark Fae. Instead he tries to take both of them and ends up being stopped by Ryan and his other friends. Ryan allows Tara (aka "the changeling" to come back to the camp because it is the only way to keep Kayla safe. Kayla gets mad that he had to think twice about taking Tara back so she is very mad at Ryan but knows the Faire is the only way to keep them both safe. Ryan and Kayla dance around their attraction and during one scene where the horses seem to take Kayla's side in a fight Ryan realizes that Tara is not the only one with secrets and that Kayla is gifted as well. Ryan looks back into the lives of the 2 girls only to be met by a strong spell blocking who/what cast the spell and why. Meanwhile most of the men stay away from Tara because they believe that changelings all choose the side of evil, except one man who thinks she can be good. Also another woman hiding in the Faire confesses what she can do and Colm ends up telling her who and what she really is. This book ends with a very sad moment and a large fight and I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next part. This series is very different from what Hazel Hunter normally writes but as normal she is doing it perfectly and I can't wait to see how this expands.
Another amazing story that I couldn't put down. I'm really enjoying the Fae storyline. Some questions are answered and more questions pop up. It's a constant battle between the light and dark fae and Kayla and Tara are in the middle of it. I can't wait to read more. I need to find out what happens and exactly what the sisters are. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
To short not enough storytelling. Needing lass romance and more fantasy faire content. Would like to understand why the he'll badass bikers went the girls. It would make more sense to understand who place the covering spell that has protected the girls all these years. Stop drawing it out . . .readers need to know. Lol. . . still enjoyed the read and now I'll have to wait for the next installment of the series. Ms. Hunter write i don't have the patience to wait for your creativity in your storytelling. Advert .
This is the second book in the Forever Faire series. Kayla and her sister Tara have been stalked by a biker gang who they have recently discovered is in fact a Dark Fae gang bent on getting Tara at any cost. They have sought shelter at the Forever Faire among a group of fallen Fae led by Ryan Sheridan. They are bound to protect any who seek shelter but, as much as Ryan wants to keep Kayla there with him, he knows that keeping Tara is a risk. Tara is a changeling that seems to have Dark Fae tendencies. Both women have a spell cast around them that no one can seem to trace the origin. Kayla will do anything to protect her sister but she is falling hard for Ryan. As much as she tries to fight her feelings she can’t seem to stay away from him. What is the real reason behind the spell on Tara and Kayla? Is Tara as dangerous as she seems? Will Ryan and Kayla be able to be together or will their circumstances keep them apart? Find out in this sexy, paranormal romance from Hazel Hunter. I couldn’t put this book down! I can’t wait to read the next installment in the series. I give this book 5 stars!
I really am enjoying this story. This book felt shorter than the first because of all the things you learn about the characters, and it was definitely a bummer when I finished reading this story because I didn't want it to end. Outcast ends on a cliffhanger, as did the first book Hunted. So many questions still remain, and I feel the need to keep reading the series so I can find out what happens next! SPOILER Christine is now a main part of the series. I like her storyline with Colm, how she is part Fae, and her friendship with Kayla. We find out also that Kayla may possibly be part Fae, or something, with her gift to mind speak with horses. We learn about Tara and Kayla's childhood a bit, but still are left in the dark about the curse upon these sisters. My main hope is that in the next book, we see Tara and Jannon getting a bit closer. Will read the next book as soon as it's available!
I was given a free copy of this book for an honest review - and my honest review is: I wasn't disappointed. Hazel delivers really great books and this one was no exception. Kayla and her sister Tara have settled into the Forever Faire amongst the outcast Fae. Kayla and Ryan have fallen for each other but it's not running smoothly, especially when things come to light about Tara, which makes the Fae worried about her and Ryan want her to leave the Faire, which certainly doesn't impress Kayla as she is determined that they stay together at all costs even the at the risk of losing Ryan. Ryan relents as he isn't prepared to lose Kayla - I won't tell you anymore as I hate when reviewers give too much information about the book and spoil the story for other reader. This series is definitely worth the five stars I've given it - I can't wait to read book three to see how this series continues.....
Outcast continues the story started in Hunted. Kayla and Tara are at the Faire, and so is Christine. The Blackwood clan is still after them, and secrets are about to be revealed.
Kayla develops as a character, although her feelings towards Ryan will make your head spin! We find out more about her childhood, and what it was like for Tara too. Yet more questions arise though, and are yet to be answered. Christine and Colm get to spend some time together as Christine learns just who the men are at the Forever Faire.
With a fast-paced, smooth storyline, and no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the flow of reading, this is a solid second book in the series, that leaves you on a cliffhanger and wanting more. Definitely recommended by me.
* I received this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review. *
Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books! Sep 11, 2016
This is my second trip to the Forever Faire and I'm definitely intrigued! Tara & Kayla have been rescued from the dark fae and are now sheltered within the magically protected confines of the Faire grounds.
Kayla & Ryan are a stand off. Kayla believes she is drawn to him because of his Faery magic and that he is using her. Ryan doesn't want this connection to become a relationship due to his past. But they can't seem to stay away from each other. Even when his men work to keep them apart.
The dark fae still want Tara & Kayla and are determined to get through the Faire's defenses and abduct the girls.
The story, world and characters are still pulling me in! Looking forward to my next visit!
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this copy and was not compensated in any way.
This is the 2nd book in Hazel Hunter's Forever Faire series and it's truly magnificent !! The Fae are living in plain sight at the Faire, and Kayla and her sister still have their jobs there, but things are changing, and the question is, can Ryan the head of the Fae really keep them safe ? This book has everything you could want in a paranormal romance; Fae thrown out of their home clans, changelings, humans who don't know they have Fae blood, dark Fae, pasts and futures so intertwined you don't know if they are living in the past or trying to make a brighter future. Great surprises, lots of action, some sweet love and some hot , sexy loving. 5 ☆'s !! It does have one whopper of a cliffhanger . I recopied a gifted copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
Outcast is the second novella in the series Forever Faire. This is not a standalone and ends in a cliffhanger. I really enjoyed this installment. It is a quick read so it's perfect for a short break from real life. There is violence and hot steamy sex scenes so 18+.
The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that all of that info here. The author did a great job of summarizing how Kayla and Tara ended up at Forever Faire. Who can they trust? There are a lot of clues in the storyline that keep you guessing what twists and turns will be revealed next. It definitely kept me riveted. As usual, things are not as they appear.
I look forward to reading more of this series. I received an ARC copy of this book from the authors in exchange for an honest review.

One of those writers whose books you want to read in one sitting, from start to finish. This book brings in the viewpoints of other characters and it's fab, you get a richer more contextual story for it. You have got to love the comment "Mighty, morphing, power stranger"(s). That really made me giggle. It's not all laughs though are there are sad times ahead. The blackstones really are evil. The gruesome things they'll do to get what they want makes you cringe. It's a tense tale of good versus evil with byplays of 'evil is made, not born' that really makes you sit on the fence. Hazel is definitely the Queen of cliffhangers. You feel like your favourite sweets have suddenly been grabbed out of your hand when the book ends.
Kayla and her sister Tara have been Woking at the forever Faire and hiding from the Blackstones a dark fae group. They think Tara us a changing and might be evil but her human sister has a gift with horses so she my have fae blood to. So the they are still a mystery. All anyone really knows it that the dark fae want both girls This story is unbelievably awesome! The author keeps you guessing and hitting at the edge of your seat from page one until the end and guessing what will happen next. It's so much fun! I love the characters and mystery you just got to read it to understand. Magic fans will be blown away, Book given for an honest review and I honestly loved it

I received an advance copy of this book for an honest review.
Outcast is an almost standard second in a series. It gives some good stuff but, overall it just felt like a filler. I love Hazel's writing but this particular one just didn't enthuse me at all. I felt like I was still waiting to see what comes next from the first one in this series and this one just didn't really give me anything but more background for what I guess is still coming. Still, I can't wait to see the next as I am sure it will make it all feel more pulled together.
I am loving this series so far! Although I haven't read every series by Hazel Hunter, this is my favorite so far. The amount of detail in the stories and characters is fantastic. Book two picks up right where book one left off. Blackstone's Clan is back and with more tricks up their sleeves. We see more of Kayla and Ryan's relationship develop along with the interactions of two other couples. This ends in a cliffhanger, and I can't wait to read book three! *I received an ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review.*
I was given this book to read with the intent to give an honest review. An honest review I shall give....It's hot, demanding and will keep you on your toes and you eyes in the book wanting to know what is going to take place next. There is illusions and then there is deception, do not think one is the other as you will be fooled. Looking forward to book 3 as the cliffhanger makes the fantasy of this book even better than the last....keep on the look out, there are things that go bump in the night and they FLY :-)
This is a great series with lots of surprises. You really should read the first book before starting this one as it takes place right after the action ended.
The characters are well-written. As the series continues, the author reveals more about them and you understand their actions and concerns better. It is fun to watch him try to win her over. She is a determined woman who is very loyal to those she loves.
