Sonunda seride güzel bir kitaba denk gelebildim...
Tamam kitabın yarısından sonra bazı saçmalıklar da oldu, ama onları görmezden geliyorum :D
Son bölümde yazar yine saçma bir final yapacak belli ki diye düşünüyordum, fakat beni haksız çıkardı. O yüzden de feci mutluyum :D

I really liked the "secrets" that this story held in its pages. I figured them out except how the girl played into it until it was revealed. Absolutely zero hints were given, except that she had a secret. Cool.

Ms. Ward's novels are wonderful if you haven't read them before. Lords of the City does have a novella and a book 1 in the series. However, they are all stand alones. You can read one without having to read the other.

In this story, Secrets, we have two main characters, Cristiano, & Blaire. We don't know much about either character, other than they like to volunteer their time at an orphanage in the Chicago area. We do find out through Blaire's on line searching that Cristiano is a self made billionaire, has his own life, & business. We do find out that Cristiano was raised for a few years in this same orphanage. He then went onto live at a few other foster homes.

We don't know much about Blaire, she is always very guarded about what goes on in her life. We do know she lost her father when she was 15, and has been around her mom and helping her mom as much as possible. We do find out that she was also in the Army for a few years. But, other than that we don't know much about her. I thought this was weird, usually we know about people, their stories, and background, but, with both of these main characters we don't really.

Blaire & Cristiano hit things off right away. Even though Blaire is seeing someone else when they first meet, she is still instantly drawn to Cristiano.

We do have some drama that comes into play. Blaire realizes that someone has been following her, but, she's not sure if it's Cristiano putting a tail on her, or if it's someone who is after him tailing her. Blaire gets her friend involved to help her, to make sure she isn't just seeing things. In turn she wrecks her friends car, ooopppsss.
Blaire helps Cristiano as much as possibly, and tries to talk to him about what is going on, however, he is in denial. He doesn't realize that someone may be in fact after him.

Will Cristiano find what he is looking for from his past? Will Blaire & Cristiano be able to move forward with their life? Are they truly soul mates?

I really loved this book I was surprised many times by the twists and turns in the story. Blair is trying to find herself she is fresh out of the military and is so use to being told what to do and when but now she is "free" she has started volunteering at an orphanage once a week were she meets Cristiano he is absolutely gorgeous and a self made billionaire. The name of the book tells all about the story though and sometimes keeping Secrets will only hurt you in the end. There were parts that made me bawl like a baby but it does end well. I highly recommend this book! Especially if you love a HOT sexy bad boy!

OMG!!! Cristiano and Blaire are awesome. I loved reading this book and the twists and turn were one heck of a ride. I like that both characters are strong and loving, each with a past that allows them to face problems from different angles. Cristiano is a refugee of sorts from Cyprus and Blaire is a retired Army vet that when they meet whoa firework central. This is on my re-read list.

P.S. Now I wanna know what happens next!!!

When Blaire meets Cristiano at an orphanage she volunteers at, she is attracted to him but she already has a boyfriend. When she realizes her relationship with her boyfriend is not what she wanted, she allows herself to find out more about Cristiano. When Blaire finds herself in danger, she questions everything about her life. Is Cristiano good for her? Could she have a life with him? I enjoyed this story about mysterious pasts and instant chemistry.

Another amazing book in this series. Blaire is fresh out of the military, trying to find her self. Cristiano is a gorgeous, self made billionaire. They have an instant chemistry, but hold themselves back because of the secrets in their pasts.
I loved this story and can't wait for more.

I have loved reading the Lords of the City series, Books 1 and3 were great however book 2. When Blaire's secret occupation really confused things, not only did I lose interest in the story, I lost respect for the character. Blaire's secret and craziness really sank the book for me.

It was an solid 3 stars, OK read up until Blaire started going coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs and running around with glocks in her hands and shooting at random cars instead of being the calm and collected soldier that she was supposed to be trained to be. Hard pass.

I don’t like reading stories about heroes and heroines who put other people in danger just cuz they’re TSTL and let their emotions control their behavior.

Blaise and Cristiano.. So many questions. Did she volunteer at the orphanage cuz she knew Cristiano came there to volunteer also? Or did she hope to get the information from the orphanage and run in to him by chance, The story was ok, the sex was hot. But overall, it just didn't tie together for me.

Secrets is an understatement for this book! Secrets abound for everyone involved--Blaire, Christiano, and people they are close to.

Story starts off with Blaire volunteering her time at an orphanage in the city she's just moved to, Chicago. She grew up doing volunteer work with her mother and thoroughly enjoys it. Now that she's moved away and is on her own, she's picking right back up with her love of helping others. She's unsure of what she wants for a career, but she absolutely loves helping at the orphanage. One day she gets introduce to another volunteer, Christiano. Christiano is a gorgeous billionaire who spends his free time volunteering at the orphanage when he can make it. When he first lays eyes on Blaire, he is absolutely captivated and tries to hint about maybe meeting outside of the orphanage. When she subtly tries to hint of her boyfriend, Christiano acknowledges it, but that won't stop him from going after what he wants.

Things happen that allow them to start pursing a relationship, but then the suspense starts. Someone seems to be after Blaire and she's unsure why. Does it have something to do with her past, or is someone trying to get to Christiano through her? Both aren't exactly forthcoming with their background, and there might be some secret that could get them killed. But when push comes to shove, will they be able to divulge their truths and trust one another?

Lots and lots of suspense in this book! There was a definite twist in the story that I did not see coming and it made me enjoy it even more. Blaire and Christiano are both great characters and watching them both slowly come out of their shell helped to make for a great story. When all the secrets are revealed, you won't believe how it ends!!

Blaire is a very unfocused woman. She served in the military but wants to change herself and be a different person. Despite this, she continues to stay in a dead relationship and even confesses she loves the man she cannot stand to spend time with. Cristiano is a rich man, still helping at the orphanage he has a history with. He is angry about his past and thinks nothing beyond that he was abandoned. There is a mutual attraction between them, but they both get defensive and angry very easily. Blaire is withdrawn and her secrets seem to hold her back from experiencing life. No idea what she did in the military, but her actions show a lack of planning and precision.

This is my favorite Lords of the City couple!!! Blaire is a brave, strong, independent woman, which is why I love her so much!!! She has seen and done a lot in her life, some of which was spent in the Army. Now she is taking a step back and reevaluating her life. Cristiano is a sexy, strong, hard headed man who meets Blaire through their mutual volunteering at an orphanage. Sparks fly!!!! This book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time!!! There were so many twists and turns and secrets galore!! This is one of my favorite Alice Ward books! She really outdid herself!!

I really enjoyed this book as I do most of Alice Ward's work. She is an excellent writer and has a very good editor...just a few minor errors in the book (which makes my little grammar-nag heart so happy <3 ;)). While the book didn't end on a cliffhanger (don't you just hate them??), it definitely left the story open for continuation. I definitely want to read more about Blaire and Christiano! Oh and I love that Blaire can kick a$$! Girl power!

I didn't like this one as much as I liked the other two in the series. I didn't really like Blair. There was just something about her that I didnt care for. For the most part, I did like Cristiano. It wasn't until the end that I wanted to smack him and then the book ended. It just felt too abrupt. I really want to know what Niall is up to. Received a copy in exchange for an honest.

So exciting! Completely not what I was expecting. Different from the the prequel & book 1, but totally immersing. There were so many twists & then a connection to the prequel, that it is hard to see how these will relate to each other, (I hope they DO relate to each other.) Can't wait to start the next one.
