All The Devils Are Here - By Michael Saad

At the age of 10, Mom gave me a puff of weed and Dad started cooking meth in the basement. Mom was always high. I thought all families were like that. But when the local gang broke into our home threatening everyone’s life, I knew something was wrong with my family.

Diane and Doug Trillamede fostered me at 14, supplying a supportive and loving home. The curse of drugs and all the devils threatening my life seemed to be gone. But they crept back. And now my brother and his family need help, before the devils consume them.

From the author of White Army Stand and The Terrors of the Earth comes a story about the bonds of family, even if they are forged in chaos.

This is a suspenseful mystery and family drama story that focuses on the lives of the Wycliffes, specifically Radley, who grows up in a hostile home environment where his parents use drugs, and his father makes meth in the basement. Radley eventually escapes this life and life with loving and supportive parents, but just when he thinks he is done with that life, his family is constantly pulling him back and won’t let him move on! -
The characters are really interesting in this book and I thought it was an interesting idea for the reader to read from the child’s perspective! Quite eye opening and real, this is a quick paced interesting book!

Very riveting story. I was intrigued from beginning to end and I learned a lot about the family affected by those who abuse drugs and alcohol.

This book was an eye opener. It was interesting to read it from point of view of the child of the drug dealer. Usually the books I read are about police/ detectives/ private investigators trying to catch the drug dealers, so it was interesting to read about the child who is trying to escape that life. I could not put it down. I will definitely have to find more Michael Saad books.

One of the best books I’ve ever read. Should definitely be made into a movie. A book all teenagers and parents should be reading.

All the Devils are Here - by Mike Saad

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Not my usual reading genre of sci-fi, urban fantasy and mystery novels. The suspense hits in the first few pages.

What can be so significant about the protagonist’s decision to mail or not to mail a letter in the prologue? The first chapter then jumps thirteen years into the past to age 10. The jumping around in time is a technique the author uses effectively throughout the book. The routine and the mundane for the most part are skipped, the action keeps you moving and wanting to read more. It omits the details of a true crime story which I find bog them down.

It’s the edgy story of a man who struggles with his inner demons to overcome his past and upbringing in a dysfunctional family. You wonder what he might have been like with a different family.

A recommended read.

All the Devils are Here reads partially as a coming of age book and partially as a hard boiled drama. It does both of these very, very well and pulls the reader in early with its vivid and realistic look at the life of a 'bottom feeder' drug running family that don't really have a handle on the trade nor their addictions.
Radley, the main character is torn between trying to escape a life involving his drug addicted Wycliffe family and starting over at a very young age. Tough decisions are made many times throughout the novel and the reader watches Radley veer off course from his ultimate goal several times.
This is a pretty dark tale with a lot of unsavory characters, however there are some bright spots that shine through the darkness and actually reward the reader, at least this reader with some good vibes. An excellent read!
