"A harrowing and emotional read, taking the reader into the world of a drug user. It was fuull of insight and understanding. It will be interesting to see where Ms. Guimond takes Mimi's story next in JUST PERFECTION." --Ria, Reading is Our SatisfactionEven while you’re waiting for the other shoe to drop, you never expect the force of its impact…
After a sudden injury, Mimi finds herself alone and struggling to recover. Lost in a world of pain, she’s drowning in a drug dependency that leaves her vulnerable to the attention of unsavory characters. She gets pulled deeper into a sordid lifestyle she never would have previously considered.
Ever present, her best friend fights to bring Mimi to her senses, but she’s caught in the double-fisted grip of depression and addiction.
Heather Guimond is a Los Angeles native, a fact she's abnormally proud of. When she's not trying to write something that will make people laugh while simultaneously ripping their hearts out, she's either reading or doing her best to crack the whip on her three home-schooled children. She loves all things witty and wise-cracking, as well most varieties of smart-assery (just ask her very own smart-ass, her husband). Other favorites include French roast coffee in copious amounts and the dirtiest Dirty Martinis she can find. More than anything, she hopes that she writes books that stick with the reader long after the pages have been read.
This storyline has taken me places that I didn't think I would go. It's been hard for me to read this and I honestly don't know why. The story is engaging and even though I kept thinking, "I'm putting this down", I couldn't do it! Mimi keeps falling down the dark path and I hated reading it but again, the story kept me turning the pages! Now I need the next book to see what happens!!
The author ends this book with a continuation, and I have to say I'm glad because I want to know more about Mimi and Justin. This book tore me up as much as the other two. The reasoning behind Mimi's addiction and the fact that she could actually let something like that control her life floored me. I was torn between Justin and James in the last book, but now I know exactly who I'm rooting for. Justin, all the way. I have to say, Mimi was a person I have come to dislike in this book, but I'm satisfied with the outcome. If you're looking to connect with your characters in an amazing way, then this series is for you.
I enjoyed Justin & Mimi's story. It was a twisted, complicated book but it kept me wanting more. Good book. I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review for a copy of the book via booksprout.
“Beautiful Imperfection”, is the continuation of the perfection series by Heather Guimond. In the beginning you get the information you are waiting for after the ending of book two. They were in a plane crash! James and Mimi make it out alive thankfully but Mimi’s injuries land her in the hospital and she is in a lot of pain.
She is on a heavy drug when she leaves the hospital but she starts abusing her morphine during her recovery. This is quite common and very relatable. Some of the readers I’m sure can relate to this. I felt in last book there was a lot going on with the story but this book shows a little more of a real life relatable mistakes, that turn into full blown disasters.
She is making more and more mistakes and Justin opens up to her and she swears she is done with the drugs. They have an amazing Christmas together and then after she goes back to doing drugs. This is so frustrating because I love Justin and just watch her ruin everything reminds me of high school mistakes I personally have made. Come on Mimi, get it together.
Finally she admits that she needs to be in rehab and she goes in for three months. In the end she gets out and Justin is there to take her home.
This has to be the most frustrating book out of the bunch. For one, I’ve been there done that and this story makes me squirm because I know she is going to regret what she is doing. Two, I hate that she is not with Justin yet. If it were up to me, she would have been with him over James, any day! Three come on JUSTIN! Ok real talk this series has me begging for Justin and Mimi to be together. I just finished this book a couple minutes ago and yes I am going to start reading the next one after I am done with this review. Oh my gosh, seriously if you haven’t picked up this series, what the heck are you waiting for?

Have you ever been on a roller coaster where all you could think about was impending doom? Well buckle yourselves in because you’re in for the ride if your life with this installment of Heather’s Perfection Series.
After the terrifying plane crash at the end of book 2, Mimi finds herself in excruciating pain, laid up in a hospital bed. Her first initial thought turns to James. Is he ok? Was he injured too? The only relief she gets is from the pain meds administered to her.
And so begins the next chapter in Mimi’s life. A life of addiction and dependancy. Whether it be prescribed or illegally sought drugs, Mimi will try anything to feel that high.
Downward spiralling, she meets bad boy Vince. Her main source of narcotics, her ‘candy man’.
Even though she is fiercely attracted to Vince, she remains loyal to James, who is now deployed overseas.
Things soon change when she pays James a visit. Secrets come out during her stay, and they will have a devastating effect on her life.
Always on the sidelines, is her best friend, Justin. He’s seen and lived through this drug induced behaviour before. But before Mimi vows to get clean, she will have one more terrifying encounter.
Mimi learns a lot about herself in this book. It may be difficult for some to read, with it’s confronting storyline, but I promise you, you will not be disappointed. You may even learn a little about yourselves.
An absolutely mesmerizing series so far. Full of ups and downs, laughter and tears and moments where you’ll be asking WTF!!!
WOW!!!... Mimi has a lot to deal with, physical pain from the plane crash, emotional pain because James is overseas for six months, and her slow and tortuous drug addiction to her pain meds. She is neglecting James by not caring whether she takes his calls or not. Most of the time she is knocked out because she is over medicating. She is blowing Justin off on their time and true pizza and movie night. She is losing weight and Justin is worried. She doesn't care about taking care of her home. All she thinks about is relieving her pain by popping another pill. She now lies to her friends and to Justin who is just starting to pickup on her slurred speech. A night out with her girls, she drinks. Some men become friendly with them. Mimi is caught by Vince that she is high after she popped a pill in the ladies room. He seems to like that she is high and gives her his card. When she called him that was the beginning of her spiral into the world of the drug culture. Mimi thought she was having fun. She went to see James and for a simple misunderstanding she broke up with him. Justin again was always their for her. Eventually she came to her senses and checked into a rehab facility. Onto the next book. Another exciting episode. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
BEAUTIFUL IMPERFECTION is the third in the PERFECTION Series. It continues to follow the life of Mimi and how she copes with life after the death of her husband Vance.
James has been redeployed and Mimi is struggling to recover from the plane crash that gave her numerous injuries.Mimi becomes overtaken by her dependency and addiction to drugs. new friends and new experiences begin to reshape her life, but can she manage to escape this new merry-go-round called life? Will she lose everyone who loves her, or will she be able to re-establish the life she once knew?
A harrowing and emotional read, taking the reader into the world of a drug user. It was fuull of insight and understanding. It will be interesting to see where Ms Guimond takes Mimi's story next in JUST PERFECTION.
This book . . .aw man this book left me feeling a certain kinda way. Brought back memories of bad decisions and the repercussions. Mimi just falls into the rabbit hole and once there floats in the river called Denial. The book starts on a high and stays there is more ways than one. This is when the walls come tumbling down. This author writes this with passion and insight and man did I feel it. I just found out about her during this series and I am really glad I did. I didn't want to like Mimi she is just too flaky and just one selfish action after another and so on. However by the end of this book you are pulling for her to make it work. Then the wonder is where does she go from here. No this story couldn't be told in one book, this author did a solid by breaking it up. It's worth every penny.
This one was my least favorite in this series. Mimi is with James (not Justin as they are just friends) but then James gets deployed so he has to leave Mimi. Now this is where I have a problem with Mimi. Instead of being strong and trying to recover, Mimi ends up dependent upon pain meds and then unfortunately falls in with the wrong crowd (meaning Vince). So this has Mimi spiraling even further down into more lethal drugs. But who comes along - Justin to save the day. This is where I am thinking maybe a lightbulb will go off in her head but she's too drugged up to know anything. So does she finally realize Justin is the man for her one or will she give James another chance? Have to read the next book to find out. Wow this book deals with a lot of Mimi’ s problems from her boyfriend leaving to go over seas, and her injury to hr back, and then her addiction to various drugs. It’s emotional and raw, greatly written by the author, leaves you to wonder how difficult it is for people to adjust to the pain they feel and the help they need when dealing with problems of abuse due to medications they have been given due to their injuries. I know how this can happen due to my own experience with the many surgeries I have had this year, but lucky not getting addicted to the meds. Family and friends are great sources to help keep you on track and keep an eye on you, but you have to know your limit also and when you have a problem. And then seek the help you need.
I really enjoyed reading this Series. After reading book 1, I didn't hesitate running to one click Book 2 even faster book 3. The story is absolutely addictive and the characters get under your skin. You just will want to know what happens next and next and now I miss them. Though there were times I just wanted to shake some senses into Mimi and have always adored Justin. If only I could have someone like him in my life. I particularly LOVED Abe's performance. One of the best written and thought out parts of book 3. It has touched me and definitely earned a huge reason for my 5 star review. :)
This book took me for a helluva ride. Wow. The emotions. The love. The heartaches and headaches. Not to mention that this book had me Facebooking the author cursing her out.
This series really has taken a toll on me this far. I was totally scared of what is coming with Book 4. I could hope it will make my dreams come true but.... I just think Heather would make it that easy on me, and yes I am thinking about myself in this situation. 😉. Must read.
Beautiful Imperfection (The Perfection Series Book 3) by Heather Guimond. Yet again we see a different edgy storyline as we follow Mimi’s journey and get an in-depth perspective of her personal struggles as she learns to deal with her lose. If you have ever been through similar tragedy you can relate to the heroine and her struggle to cope. At this point, I am not sure who I am routing for- James or Justin; heck I’m still missing Vance too.

A really brilliant series. This is the third book in the Perfection series and is a little different from the first two. Mimi is recovering from series injuries sustained at the end of the second book. She is also devastated by James being deployed for six months. Prescribed narcotics seem to be the answer to her pain and depression. Some very unsavory people enter the picture. Mimi learns a lot about herself and the people around her. Justin as always is there for her. An amazing series and I highly recommend it.
If this series, I think this is my favorite book!! BUT for the love of everything Holy, please tell me there is more???!! You can't leave me hanging like that!! I need to know what happens to Mimi!! Does she relapse?? Will Justin stick around?? I think Mimi and Justin are perfect for each other!! Does James come back??!! So many questions!! Ugh! I just LOVED this book!!
“Beautiful Imperfection” is such a critical part of Mimi’s story. At this point, Mimi isn't making the best choices which lead her to drug addiction. She eventually finds herself in a very vulnerable situation. She calls Justin who comes to her rescue. Mimi finally realizes that her life has spiraled out of control and is able to admit that she’s an addict. That night she admits herself into a treatment facility. This story continues to get better!!
This book in the series was the hardest to reading because as a reader you see Mimi destroying herself. Mimi's continued support of Justin throughout the story is seen in this book. The author does a great job of putting the character together with the storyline because it keeps the reader guessing of what is next. This book does deal with drug abuse and might have triggers for some.
Mimi is like that friend that you have and have known her for years. This woman has had so much going on that you want her journey to go down the right path but she seems to carry the world on her shoulders and is starting to buckle.
We are 3rd book in and I've become obsessed. I will be pedal to the metal to see where life takes her in book 4.

The book starts off from where it ends in fighting perfection on the cliff hanger. This book is full of drama in all different kinds of ways. Mimi and James twists and turns, Mimi and Justin dramas as she gets herself intosom interesting situations. This book just gets more and more complex and pulls you in as you read it.
A fabulous third book xx

In this book we get an insite into how easily good people can get sucked into the nasty cycle that addiction can bring. Mimi is on a dangerous path spiraling out of control, but as always Justin is there to catch her. Can't wait to see what book 4 brings in the adventures of Mimi and Justin. Love Heathers books, well worth reading..

Here I sit crying again but for a whole other reason. This story has touched me in so many ways. The pain, the struggle, the heart ache, and the journey are enrapturing, they will bring you to your knees. Well done!!! I cannot wait to read the rest of Mimi's journey.
Another great read! A true story of love, passion and survival that brings forward the inner struggles of Mimi. The push/pull intricate relationship between Justin and Mimi is never ending! I can’t wait to read the last book!
This book was filled with emotional and pain. Mimi sought to escape her suffering, turning to drugs instead. It was a tough road for her. I loved Justin through everything. James too, but when Mimi met Vince I wanted to shout No! I am so loving this series, and I can't wait to see the conclusion!
5 huge stars! I love Guimonds writing. She has a way of pulling you in to the pages and keeping you there until the very end. Characters are fantastically written. I can't wait to start the next book in this series.
Get ready for a roller coaster ride because you will need to hold on tight for this amazing book that will have you hooked from the very first page tell the very ending this is a emotional adventure that will take you on a amazing ride.
