He’s hot. Like, stop breathing kind of hot with his killer body, vivid blue eyes, and constant five o’clock shadow.

Did I mention his body?

Watching Hollis Knightly, Olympic diving gold medalist, man-pony specialist—and cocky bastard—stand up on the diving platform in nothing but a small piece of Spandex? Yeah, I’m beguiled.
And easily seduced.

I want to keep things light but he won’t leave me alone. And hell, if he’s not wearing me thin.

What is supposed to be a simple summer fling with a very hot man, has now morphed into a f*cked-up mess of feelings, attachment, and dare I say it…love. But I don’t do relationships. And Hollis Knightly does.

When I was in high school I occasionally read books but was consumed by other teenage things so I didn't take the time to appreciate a good book on a cloudy day, wrapped up in a blanket on the couch. It wasn't until I received a Kindle for Christmas one year that my world completely flipped upside down. When looking for books I came across the Contemporary Romance genre and was sold and I haven't turned back since.

You can either find my head buried in my Kindle, listening to inspiring heart ripping music or typing away on the computer twisting and turning the lives of my characters while driving my readers crazy with anticipation.

I currently reside in beautiful Colorado Springs where the sun is always shining and there is a trail waiting to be hiked on every corner. I share a lovely and warm home with the love of my life and my five, four-legged children.

"I heard my penis cures the worst of the diseases. Want me to stick it in you and make you feel better?

➦When I pick up Meghan Quinn's book I can pretty much count on being entertained. Stroked Hard features an Olympic diver named Hollis - a stubborn smartass extraordinaire who oozes romance! He's a complete badass when he competes... the level of concentration and grace is off the charts!

I'm kidding, I'm kidding...

➦Anywhooo... Hollis sees a woman and instantly knows she's "THE ONE" and starts the chase. Unlucky for him, she wants nothing to do with him because she just doesn't believe in relationships. But Hollis is relentless and he will spend any amount of time needed to convince her she's worth it.

➦I loved the hero's personality! He reminded me a lot of my hubby lol Low filter and a smartass remark at every turn. Hollis is WAAAY more romantic though. Someone needs to up his game.

➦Hollis is just so swoony when he talks about happily ever afters and all that jazz. He declares right from the start that he is all about commitment and loyalty and not into sleeping around. All the sweet gestures he does for the heroine are super romantic!

➦I'll be honest and say that I wasn't a big fan of insta-love Hollis developed from the start. I am not a fan of insta anything in books unless it's PNR and 'mate for life' type of stuff. Hollis claimed that the second he saw this girl he just knew she would be his wife. Like, when you know, you know. It's just a bit too out there for me :D

➦Other than that everything else worked well for me. I hear a lot of people didn't like this heroine because, well, she just wouldn't throw Hollis a bone for the longest time! I didn't mind it, i enjoy a good chase in my books.

➦The ending had me laughing out loud. I totally didn't expect to, but hell, Meghan Quinn knows how to bring the funny when you don't see it coming. So if you're looking for a fun and sexy read with a sweet and romantic hero give this one a try :) And if you still haven't read any other books from this series, Stroked LONG was my favorite! You can read my review for it HERE.

When I saw Meghan Quinn was coming out with a porno series of scientific journals about Olympic swimmers/divers I had one reaction . . . .

Even when Quinn writes stuff that isn’t 100% my cuppa, she still does okay. I was lucky enough to grab the first two in the series from NetGalley, but this third and final story was not available. However, (1) since Quinn is a auto-yes for me already, (2) it was on pre-sale for $1.99 so even my poor ass could afford it, and (3) it was HOLLIS’ story I one-clicked the sumbitch quicker than a jackrabbit on a date. My husband can confirm his wake up call on yesterday's release date went a little something like this . . . . .

As I said before, this was the third and final in a series. Both of the previous books were enjoyable, but this was the one I had been waiting for. I am sooooooo happy to say it didn’t fail me. Hollis is the jokey perv of the Olympians – but with a heart of gold who is ready to settle down. When he sets his eye on Melony he knows she is the one. Unfortunately, Melony has some pretty serious abandonment issues so the feeling isn’t mutual. Luckily Hollis is persistent.

First things first THE BOY IS MINE . . . .

Y’all can have bearded Reece or broken Bodi. Hollis belongs to me. And you wanna know why? Because HE WAS MOTHEREFFIN’ PERFECTION!!!!! Not only was he a diver so you know he had that whole “V” thing girls splooge their pants over, but his over-the-top persona made me laugh so many times . . .

“And you’re the perfect fit for my giant dong.”

And there he is. That makes me laugh. “Oh my God, don’t say that.”

“What? It’s true. Your pussy ate my cock. That little lady was hungry.”

Please note this was a real slow burn due to Melony’s trust issues, but when things finally started heating up, they REALLY started heating up. The “self-pleasure” scene alone. Whoa . . . . . .

And when things got super serious and Hollis showed Melony a Ginuwine Pony moment . . . .

I pert near drowned in my own panties . . . .

I don’t know what else to say. I never thought I would react to a book boyfriend this way. Now, Taco Tuesday??????

Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup.

Read the series. It’s worth it. Errrrrry dang one of these boys . . . .

Copy paid for with my own dollars because I am a filthy whore and want to make all of the sex all of the time with Meghan Quinn’s books.

ORIGINAL "REVIEW":

I have sunk to a new low and have officially become Meghan Quinn's Facebook stalker. She's in the process of writing this book and her status updates are making me want to ride Hollis' pony. He is MY book boyfriend because I'm the first person who created a page here for his story. That's how dibs works so get over it. Snooze ya lose and all that.

She also posts completely appropriate and sciencey stuff like this . . . .

I'm pretty sure she's my lobster.

When I read the first book in this series Stroked we were introduced to the main characters in that book. I liked them but there was that friend that I was dying for more of.
Hollis.

 photo giphy_zpsgontra8i.gif

Meghan Quinn brought him to the table in this book.
Hollis sees Melony and immediately knows that she is his forever woman. She just doesn't see it. Because Hollis has an ego bigger than four states and Melony has some abandonment issues.

Hollis decides she is worth sticking it out for and figures he is going to "Noah Calhoun" her ass to death until she professes her undying love for him.
(If you don't know who Noah Calhoun is..run right now and correct that mistake. I'll wait.)
 photo tumblr_m4tdzdpkJF1qgiou0o1_500_zpsi1gx7ptu.gif

The thing about Hollis though, he ain't just sugary sweet. The boy can't seem to keep his mouth shut for nuthin.

"Observing my cock while I'm diving, nice. Don't worry, sugar tits, what you see isn't at all what you get. That's just a third of the prize. This dude has cock."
I laugh. I can't help it. "Oh my God, who even says that?"

I'm totally in love.
He even has a chihuahua!
Normally, little dogs are yappy little fucks, not Taco. He's older, more mature, at least that's what I like to tell people. I don't bother saying he's the laziest dog ever. Fetch? Yeah, he doesn't know what that is. Whenever I try to play, it turns into Taco pushing the ball and me chasing it. How the fuck that happens, I have no clue. But I refuse to play anymore; it's demeaning to me.

 photo Christmas_zpsytzxgmnj.gif

Then you have the sex scenes. All I can say is you might end up in this state after reading this one.
 photo 7b56f326e31e3c5a26d24935c7bd84a8_zpsdewdbhnt.gif

I want to hoard this book for myself. I will let you read it if you promise not to fall in love with my book boyfriend. (Who Kelly tried to claim.)

He's too cocky, too arrogant when he talks, always joking about my boob somehow falling in his mouth. That's not intimate. That's just...perverted.

Hollis Knightly is a two-time Olympic Gold Medalist and a hot piece of man candy. He is also funny, and cocky, and won't take NO for answer. When he sets his sights on Melony and her luscious curves, nothing will stop him from making her his happily ever after.

Unfortunately Melony doesn't do relationships, and she sure as the hell doesn't do love. Can Hollis convince Melony he is there for the long haul, or will her insecurities send her running for the hills?

First I am going to start by saying this book would have been a total 4-5 star read had it not been for the heroine (more on that in a bit) It is well written. It was HILARIOUS. Hollis was one of the MOST perfect heroes I have run across lately. A non-manwhore that doesn't do the ONS thing. It's a unicorn in romancelandia for sure. I enjoyed it immensely.

description

So why the 3-star rating you ask? I LOATHED the heroine Melony. She ruined this book for me. She was everything I HATE in a heroine. Yes, Yes, she had "daddy" issues, I get that. I could even sympathize with her, up to a point. But the constant self-pity, and pushing the hero away got to be old by 25% into the book! Instead of rising above by grabbing onto the hand of a man who spent WAY too much time on her sorry ass, she just continues to let it drag her down. It continues right on until 60% when I FINALLY thought we were getting somewhere, nope. Then the selfish b!tch basically ruins this amazing heroes biggest day of his life by YET AGAIN wallowing in the self-pity puddle and breaking his heart.

At this point I REALLY wanted Hollis to say "suck it b!tch" and find a heroine worth his time. He doesn't do that. No, instead this PERFECT hero continues to chase her sorry ass. His letters made me shed a tear, and they were so totally wasted on this heroine.

So stepping off my ranty box. If you have a higher tolerance for self-pitying, pushing away heroines, then this is going to be a really great read for you. Like I said everything apart from the heroine I LOVED. So one big thumb, and one limp thumb up from yours truly.

➳Lets talk about how great Meghan Quinn's writing is... Because this series has taken a special spot in my "favorites" list!

Hollis is one of a kind that's for sure, and his cockiness and comical side is something that I really, REALLY enjoyed reading in this story. The cliche idea of having a challenge and "getting" that challenge is present in this story, but present in a way that includes different sides to a good equation. When you add Melony to the equation, she makes everything in this story spark and shine next to Hollis. Everything about these two is something that I actually enjoyed way too much reading. For me, this story has to be the best one out of the whole series and I am so happy that Meghan ended her series with such a marvelous story ending. Get ready ladies and gents, because Hollis will swoon you over when you read this bad boy's story!

5 "dude has cock" stars! ;)

I normally don't salivate over covers like this. But damn, when I first saw this cover I was a goner. I mean it's downright delicious...

description

And then once I started reading? I didn't just want Hollis for my birthday, I wanted him for life...

description

description

Hollis was an INCREDIBLE hero <3 <3 If you're looking for a hot, dirty-talking, hilarious, all-about-the-heroine hero, look no further! One thing that kept popping into my head was this quote from Tom Hiddleston (*dibs, dibs, dibsitty dibs*):

description

Hollis is dedicated from the beginning. His feelings actually look a lot like insta-love, especially when (at 6% in) he thinks this...
"She just doesn't know what she wants yet. She doesn't know that one day I'll fucking marry her."
And we all know how I feel about insta-love, so why didn't this bother me you ask? Well because I took it as kind of a joke. There are some people who "fall in love" right away... but it's not really love, they're just very passionate people who go all in with the person they're dating. Hollis reminded me of that. Not that he didn't feel strongly about Melony, he did, but he seemed like the type of guy who would always treat the girl he was with special. And Reese solidified this later in the book when he said this:
"I've known Hollis for a long time. I've seen him through breakups, so I know how this works. He wallows about, sulks, eats gallons of ice cream and then one day, he's ready to find the girl he's supposed to spend the rest of his life with again."
"It's true." [Hollis nods] "But this time, it's different... I love her, man. She's the one."
So even though he was "in love" since the beginning, I still enjoyed this because I got to watch them fall in love. I watched him break down her walls and I saw how much he loved her spitfire personality. But that kind of dedication from almost page one was great to read about. He was a unique hero in a world full of manwhores who are scared of relationships. Here's a little taste of his awesomeness:
"I'm not the kind of guy that goes around fucking women, never have been. I prefer to spoil someone, to cuddle them at night, to mold my soul with theirs. I like being in a relationship. I mean, why the fuck wouldn't you want to be in one? There is something so fucking amazing about being able to connect with another human being not only on an intimate level, but on an emotional one as well."
"I'm a pleaser, Melony. I'm a woo-er. I'm a romantic who knows how to fuck you senseless."
"I would take you on a date where I would be sure to ask you a million questions so I can get to know you better. I would ask you to go on a walk with me just so I could hold your hand... I would want you to curl up into my chest as we sit in the sand and watch the moonlit waves roll in. I would want to cuddle the fuck out of you while we lounge on my couch and watch a movie."
description

And that's just how he feels about love and relationships in general. Can you imagine how fucking awesome he is when it's directed at an actual woman? No? Well here ya go...
"You're everything I've ever wished for in a woman . . . and more."
"That wasn't sex. That was . . . how do I describe the best moment of my life?"
"You can't have everything, Hollis."
Smiling to myself, I say, "I already do. I have you."
"Fuck other women, I only care about you."
He's not a typical athlete who eats up female attention either. He is ALL ABOUT Melony.
"Better yet, I hope it's a chatty twenty-year-old girl trying to hit on you the entire way. I know how uncomfortable that would make you."
She's so fucking right. I would hate every minute of that.
Honestly by the end I was swooning so hard, I thought I would die from it. Seriously. His words, his actions, just everything... it killed me. I was kinda speechless; hence why I just quoted a bunch. Meghan Quinn took all the words to show how great he is, she left none for me so I had no choice but to use what she gave ;)

description

Now for the heroine *ducks head* I actually really liked her. I often wonder what it says about me when I love/kind of relate to the heroine that everyone else seemed to hate lol... probably nothing good :p But I did, I really got her. At the same time, I completely understand everyone else's reluctance to like her. It was annoying and frustrating how closed off she was, especially since Hollis was so goddamn awesome. However I know what it's like to be insecure and think the worst of people. I genuinely believe everyone hates me half the time. It's annoying as fuck lol... so I can safely say, I get it. But I also know it's really difficult to change that kind of perception of oneself. I wish she were different, I wish I was different, but that's not the case. Some people are just this way. And she really broke my heart, like I was sobbing at some points. Now I'm not on the exact same level as her. My issues aren't daddy issues, truthfully who the hell knows what my issues are (not the point lol). But her's are very obvious and very prominent, so if you hate daddy issues this would not be the book for you, for sure.

description

Like, seriously...
"If I'm not enough for my own damn father, how could I be enough for anyone else?"
"I won't be enough to keep him, and I don't want to cry myself to sleep again. I don't want to feel cast aside ever again."
But there are moments when we see how much she cares about Hollis. She wasn't completely cold. I LOVED the scene in the car when he broke his promise to hold hands in the car. We really see her underlying feelings.
"Because right now, when he's supposed to cash in on his promises, he doesn’t. This is why I don’t get serious with men because they can’t even follow through on even the simplest things."
It seems silly and she's embarrassed, but I thought it was a really sweet moment between the two. And when she finally relents and holds his hand after being annoyed, we start to see just how right these two are.
"Giving in, I link my hand with his, our palms touching, our fingers wrapping around to the back of our hands, his fingers reaching farther. Briefly, he looks up at me and smiles, a gut-twisting, ovary-clenching, heart-pounding smile. The kind of smile that says I just handed the world over to him."
But she was definitely hard to get, and honestly toward the end I was frustrated with her beyond the point of understanding. Not because of her fears, but because I think the story could have played out a little better. I think with so much build up in the beginning, the whole plot line was kind of weak. I would have preferred either less of a struggle in the beginning or a conflict-free resolution. I honestly think this was one of those books that could work without the crazy high climax at the end. It could have been a subtle story about loving and trusting again.

And while I noticed this, I wasn't super bothered by it. To be honest, the heroine could've been a fucking fish and I'd still have to give this book 5 stars just for Hollis (and the humor).

I'm not going to say anything about the humor or the sex because a) I've already said a fuckton and b) I think we all know how those go in a Meghan Quinn book. If not, this will sum it up...

description

description

I can't say this book will be for everyone. I loved it to no end, but the heroine does push away a great deal and I've always found that this type of humor can be hit-or-miss for no apparent reason. Example: I've loved this series, but I struggled with To Hate Adam Connor and To Love Jason Thorn. Both have similar feels IMO, but for some reason those books just didn't pull me in the way Meghan's have. So while I can't say, yes everyone will love this, go buy it right now, I will recommend you check out other reviews and/or download a sample if you're even slightly interested.

Also, please, please, PLEASE tell me there will be a book about Holly! Please, anyone? Anyone? She was phenomenal and I would love her story...
"I lost the ability to walk, but that didn't destroy my life, it just put me on a different path to success... while you've been pitying me, I've been making something of myself."
description

Just like with the second novel, Stroked Long, I was a little underwhelmed by the ending. The breakup (a short one) and reconciliation happened relatively fast and then we're immediately thrown into an epilogue. The pacing of this one felt a little better but I still would have liked more time in between.

No matter, I was still incredibly pleased with this novel and I can't wait for more from this author :D

I really enjoyed this book and this series. It kept me laughing, it kept me swooning, and it kept me wanting more. Hollis & Melony have that love/hate/drive me wild kind of relationship
❤️❤️

Hollis, god did I love him, his determination is endearing, everything about him I adored. At times he's a bit overwhelming, but he shows how much he truly loves Melony and how badly he wants her long term. He's willing to wait, he's willing to do whatever it is she wants, including letting go. He's simply an amazing man.

Melony drove me bonkers at times. I could see how the writing would play out. It was a story you could predict but I still liked it and enjoyed it!! Love this author. And I can't wait to read more from her in the future❣️

Review @ Vanilla & Spice Books

When you start reading a book by Meghan Quinn you know what you can expect. Quirky humor and low angst. Yet they aren't all the same.

Hollis Knightley is working towards his next Olympic medal as a diver. When he runs into a beauty while on set of his best friend's Reese (Stroked) reality show he knows she is IT. He is not a one-night-stand-man, he loves relationships and how refreshing is that? He pursues her with his funny text messages but the pretty Melony doesn't relent. She keeps saying that relationships aren't her thing. Hollis does everything to change her mind but will her walls crack?

Melony doesn't trust men. The first man in her life left when she was six years old. When she meets the stunningly hot and good looking Hollis she runs as fast as she can. His humor and his chase are too much for her, eventually he will leave her if she gives in, right?

Listen to John Mayer's song "Daughters" and you know everything about Melony and her daddy issues. That time when her father left cut her deeply and set her up for her view on relationships and love. She is guarded like few other heroine's I've read about. When I met her and spent some time with her I thought there was no way her walls will come down. And up until around the 60% mark that held true. I was so relieved when they started to crumble.
Unfortunately something happens and they are right back in place and this is where the story lost me. I wanted to love her, I really did. She keeps Hollis on his toes and had a mouth like a whip...but I wanted a heroine who felt empowered by the love Hollis showed her. I wouldn't have had a problem with her showing insecurities but she wallows in self pity instead of taking control, she just allows her issues to drag her down again, despite him proving repeatedly that he is worthy. Sometimes you could see the sweet coming through and those moments made me like her but at no point did I fall in love with her.

Hollis on the other hand is a hero you can only wish for. His OTT quirky humor is hilarious, he is sweet and hot and a GOOD man. He has the patience of a saint. Hollis' brand of wooing his girl is a mixture of humor and romance. Hollis has all those ridiculous nicknames for Melony (Lactose Lips, Turd Blossom, Bologna Breasts, Sparkle Butt...only to name a few). He isn't the airhead you might think, his serious moments are deep and have lots of insight. And he can be surprisingly intense. I really adored him.

I loved that evil Bellini had her comeuppance in the end. While this might not have been a total winner for me it was still a very enjoyable read. Meghan Quinn's sense of humor is peppered throughout the whole book and I was left again asking myself how she comes up with this stuff. Please don't let my reservations for the heroine keep you from reading this book. We all have different expectations and this totally might work for you!

3.25 -hero and humour gets all the stars- Stars

Don't get me wrong, I do love me a good chasing, masochist, hero story. And I'm not opposed to an indecisive or bitchy heroine who pushes the H away, because it usually leads to more ramping up of the chase & woo storyline (which I'm a glutton for). But I kinda need to somewhat connect with said heroine, or at least see a valid reason for pushing the H away, that far into a story. Unfortunately, this h wasn't at all understandable, nor did I feel her childhood "daddy issues" were enough to validate the kind of treatment she put the H through during the first 50% of this story.

Yep, my bitches either gotta be bitches with self conviction, or have a damn good reason for being a biatch! No in-betweenies where everyone else sees her as some heart-of-gold angel, yet I can't seem to find one good quality about her to latch upon. In short; she needs to be good enough for my hero dammit!

Luckily, when these MCs finally got together at 60% and she finally relents to his charms; I started kicking back and enjoying the story more. The H was funny, sweet and proudly in touch with his feminine side (which was refreshing but not my normal preference). He pretty much made the whole story good for me and pursued her until the very end.

Told in dual POV and standalone story in a series. Totally safe and had its lol moments.

The beginning was so sweet and ridiculously funny. I swooned totally over Hollis, his smartass comments and his addiction to romance novels. I understood Melony and her resistance to falling in love... It was a wonderful chase and I was really enjoying it.
But then came the moment when they became a couple and it was as if a switch was flipped and another author altogether proceeded with the story. It turned to be just an average romance that wasn't in any sense remarkable, and the writing was just bland.
Fortunately the end of the book saved the overall impression of a heartwarming story with witty banter.

I really loved Hollis, he made the whole story great for me. This man is just perfect. And not perfect as in he makes no mistakes, but perfect as in…PERFECT :)
I wasn't annoyed by the heroine as I've read in other reviews. What did bother me was how Quinn handled the transition from two people to a couple.

Well this was a wonderful, funny and lovely surprise. My first by Meghan Quinn and the reason I wanted to read Stroke Hard was because I kept seeing and reading great things about her books and characters.

Here it definitely was the characters that blew me away especially Hollis. He was a romantic at heart, a one woman man who once committed to his woman then there was no going back. Loyal to the bone. He was a charming man and my first impression was, that Hollis was a jokester who couldn't be taken seriously but he certainly surprised me and showed and proved his many layers. He wooed me with words, his vulnerability and his good heart.
Melony was a feisty and cool woman who was very honest in what she wanted in life in particular when it came to relationships. She was very opposed to being in one and Hollis did everything in his power to pursue her. That resulted in a fun bantering between them but the push and pull became too exhausting and repetitive at times. I thought it went on for too long and I had difficult time connecting with Melony. She was just too scarred by her experience that resulted in her not wanting a relationship and the reason behind it felt too easy. I expected more from that.
Their chemistry was palpable and when they finally got together it was full on sizzling. Hollis was persistent in his want and love no matter how hard Melony tried to push him away. His final actions in professing his love was fantastic.

The secondary characters were fabulous especially Hollis' twin sister Holly and their parents. I really enjoyed their relationship and how they loved each unconditionally considering the tragic accident Hollis and Holly experienced. Even though the other guys from the two previous books appeared it can easily be read as a standalone. It didn't ruin my experience at all.
Meghan Quinn's writing was flawless, straight to the point and I loved that. Definitely an author I will be keeping an eye on.

It’s official Meghan Quinn is synonymous with writing romantic comedies that will have you giggling and swooning like a high school teenage girl in love. Quinn has found a way into my literary heart as she stroked all the right notes of humor, sass, romance, passion, banter, and off the charts chemistry in her newest romantic comedy, Stroked Hard.

This book is the epitome of romantic comedy done right. With her signature stamp of off the wall humor and witty dialogue, Meghan Quinn didn’t need to do much as she had me swooning for Hollis Knightly. I seriously wanted to dive into his arms and do some mouth to mouth resuscitation. *wink* I honestly don’t want to spoil anything about the hero Hollis because right off the first chapter you will be like hot damn, this is one amazing and lovable hero. There is no need to twist your arms into loving him because I was already swooning hard for him and all it took was a text message. And as for the heroine, I immediately loved her. You gotta love a heroine who was sassy and fierce and yet vulnerable. Melony was the perfect strong heroine who had to get her heart stroked hard by Hollis in order to show her that he is the only one who will protect and love it. So if you are looking for a romance that was brimming with so much laughter, banter, and love then look no further than this book.

5.0 "BIG DADDY & HOT SEX" STARS!!!

"You're everything I've ever wished for in a woman...and more."

Now, there's no question about it, Meghan Quinn's Stroked Series is definitely and utterly one of the best romcom books to date. From Reese, with a bad boy look with tattoos, beard and dark features to Bodi with a beautiful mystery just waiting to be cracked open and then now with Hollis. Smart-ass extraordinaire, with the body of incredible contours and sinew that keeps your mind racing. My God, Meghan Quinn is just a genius in her flawless and engaging writing and of course with her character portrayal. Everything just screams PERFECT ROMCOM and UNIQUE CHARACTERS!!! I have been smiling and laughing as if I'm on a crack from the very first page up to the last my jaw and cheeks so damn hurt because I just can't help myself with the delicious perfect sense for humorous simple encounters with the characters.

I have been a fan of Meghan the moment I read Reese story, there's no doubt in her writing ability because when she said romantic comedy, she will deliver it to you like a package with an elegant ribbon on top. But then, her brilliant mind and writing ability topped what she usually delivers because Stroked Hard is more than that.

Hollis Knightley from the moment I met him in the previous books already piqued my interest. His antics were undeniably laugh out material but when I read his story I am utterly surprised because he is more than what he seems to be. His character is uniquely portrayed that he topped on my BFF list. Man, he is every woman's fantasy in the husband material category. He's not a one-and-done man. He like's being in a relationship! And not only that!! He reads romance novels. Eff me! Couldn't he be any better??? Because that just exploded my uterus!!!

That's the big problem though, because the woman who caught her interest, the one she's pining over and over, the one he's drawn too much that he even thought of future with wants nothing to do with him.

Melony, is not just your ordinary girl. She doesn't do relationships no matter how attracted she is with Hollis. Pain from her past is holding her back to commit to any relationships or even to sharing a life with another person. Her mind is so fucked up that she keeps on fighting the undeniable attraction. She wants him but just a night with him to fulfill her sexual needs not a relationship where he will see all her scars.

But what can Melony do when Hollis is so relentless despite her reservations???

"Let me be the man you deserve, Melony. Let me show you how much you should be treasured.
I know this is scary, giving your heart over to someone, trusting another man in your life, but I promise you, baby, I will only care for you. I'm not going anywhere and I don't plan on ever hurting you. You're so fucking special, I want nothing more than to be granted the chance to cherish you."

*Swoon
*Fanning
*Laughing

Hooray!!! I can go on and on but I will definitely wont stop because Stroked Hard just made me a goner. I can't sleep without thinking of Hollis and Melony. Their story is one that is so relatable especially those who have a past similar to them The good thing though is, Hollis has his family that despite everything supported him all throughout. Melony on the other hand, despite her constant pushing of Hollis is understandable and when I have been frustrated with her character usually, with her I flat out adore her and I feel the pain of what she went through. It wasn't easy but she's so strong that she stands on her own despite scared on trusting again afraid to get her heart broken. However though, with the right person who knows how to cherish and loved her the way she deserves, it will all be negligible. And that is Hollis. He's the man of this show. I have loved him with this story and I can say he is just perfect for Melony.

In the end, I really flat out enjoyed the book. Stroked Hard is a refreshing romantic comedy that will not just definitely make you laugh but cry as well. It's a heartwarming story that is brilliantly written with a good sense of humor, entertainment and depth. And with The Notebook references? Damn! Meghan Quinn got me even more with that.

Indeed, Love will always prevail.

It's a must read!

Hollis...I could never tell if he was too much or just completely perfect the way he was. He was a total head in the gutter, focus on boobs, driven like no other, one woman kinda guy...he was pretty awesome! A patient, steadfast bravado for a scared unwanted woman could not have made for a better love story...oh and Abs...lots of abs...with a frequent use of the word cock! Total 5 ☆ hit Again for Megan Quinn. I would recommend this series 100x over to anyone!

Hollis Knightly is an idiot.

But by god you won’t be able to not love him.

Somewhere between his overblown ego, ridiculous one-liners, cockiness and goofy sense of humour lies the heart of a romantic. And Melony never saw him coming. He charged into her life like an over-excited puppy and somewhere along the line turned into an alpha-dog. God knows I loved both Reese and Bodi but I’m calling dibs on Hollis!

This book has the Meghan Quinn trademarks of OTT ridiculous humour and clever banter but she knocked this one out of the park. This book made me laugh out loud but it also made me swoon all over the place. It is dripping with angst and sexual tension – a moment of silence for my womb, please- and the sexy times were OFF THE CHARTS!! The lengths Hollis had to go through to get Melony to give him the time of day were both hilarious and completely endearing.

Underneath all of this there are some emotional moments and some deeply touching aspects that had me biting back tears. All in all this was another highly entertaining read by Meghan Quinn that I gobbled up and devoured in a single sitting. I think I may just love this more than Hollis loves ice cream.

Hollis and his pervy, inappropriate, raunchy, smartass comments had me smiling throughout the whole book. I’m not one of those women who find that kind of sexy banter as harassment, but as funny and heartwarming. I swooned a little when Hollis admitted to his addiction to romance novels. He’s definitely a romantic at heart. With his own demons to fight. But he has his loving and supportive family next to him with their bedazzled shirts.
I connected with Melony in her feelings of worthlessness and not resistance to falling in love. I understood how she was so pulled to Hollis and wanted to run at the same time. A good romance is always chased.
A nice ending to this Stroked series, I wish it didn’t have to end. These are the first MQ books I’ve read and now I feel the need to read more of her works.

MAJOR SWOON ALERT!

Are you kidding me right now? I didn't think this series could get any better and then Hollis Knightly comes along and freaking SHATTERS it! I've said it before, and I'll say it again...HE. IS. A. FUCKING. UNICORN. I absolutely LOVED these characters and there is no better match in the romance world right now than Melony and Hollis. I'm so incredibly sad to see this series come to a close, but my God, did Ms. Quinn go out with a FREAKING BANG!

I know this is a bold statement, but I think Hollis Knightly will go down as one of my favorite male characters ever! That's right...EVER! It's rare to read a romance where the hero's main goal in life is to settle down and have a relationship. It's strange and unique, but Ms. Quinn makes it work with this character. I would gush about him all damn day if I had the time. I don't know if I've ever LOVED a character as much as I do Mr. Knightly. I can't stop grinning when it comes to him. My damn cheeks hurt from smiling so much!

And YES, there are only three books in this amazing series and TWO of them made it on my TOP PICK list! That shows you how much I LOVE this author's writing! It's addicting, hilarious, and sexy as hell! It's rare to find a romance that makes you feel the way that STROKED HARD made me feel. All throughout the book, I couldn't take my eyes of the pages. There is beauty in hilarity flying off of every page and I just wanted to soak it all in!

I know I've went on and on about our boy Hollis, but the heroine of their story, Melony, was just as special. She is the one with the demons this go-round. Her self-worth has been shattered. Her outlook on love, completely obliterated the minute her father walked out on their family when she was a kid. Hollis makes her uncomfortable with all of his advances on her, because he threatens to break down her walls and she just can't have that. In the end, he will leave. All men leave. She isn't good enough. She will never be good enough. OMG! Hearing her story and her struggles just absolutely broke my heart. It's something every woman can relate to. Hollis is determined to find out why she won't let him in, and he is a persistent little bugger. He will make her believe she is worth EVERYTHING, if it's the last thing he does.

"Let me be the man you deserve, Melony. Let me show you how much you should be treasured."

Oh god! I could go on and on about how much I loved this book, but I'll stop bugging you so you can go read for yourself. Just be prepared to fall head over heels in love with both of these characters. There is no turning back. If you are new to this author, get ready to be introduced to a new addiction...the STROKED SERIES!

GAHHHH! Meghan Quinn has outdone herself with Stroke Hard again. I don’t know how she does it but Meghan continues to to deliver freaking hot, hilarious rom com – it’s sick how I am totally addicted to her. I admit I love Reese and Bodi in the previous books but there is something special about Hollis. I think I might LOVE Hollis the most. He is one of those perfect swoony boyfriends that you want to bring home to your parents.

Hollis is a star Olympic diver, already with 2 gold medals under his belt. So, you think the guy should be cocky with an enormous attitude right? WRONG! Hollis is anything but… well, he is ALL COCK alright :) but the the man is so sweet, nice, and beautiful inside and out. I love that Hollis is successful but humble. Hollis does appear cocky when he talks to Melody but that’s just because he adores her. He has an old soul quality who is not afraid of commitment. He is the opposite of a player – he wants nothing more than to find the one woman to romance, woo, marry and live happily ever after. The woman that catches his eye happens to be Melony except she will have nothing to do with the sexy Hollis. Melony has a shaded view of men thanks to her douche bag of a father. So, Melony is hell bent on being on her own and never falling in love – let alone hooking up with a popular, handsome star. I admit a few times I was frustrated with Melony and her indifference toward Hollis but I do understand she was cut deep and it will take a lot to break down her walls. I love how he is so patient and persistent. Hollis knows the first time he lays eyes on her that she is the one he is going to marry so it will take a lot more than the silent treatment and eye rolling from Melony for Hollis to ever give up.

I do enjoy the chase – I think the flirting and the cat and mouse game is what makes the story fun and entertaining. I like the banters between Hollis and Melony – cute and hilarious. There are so many LOL moments, a whole lot of mouth-watering SEXY times, and just the right amount of angst. It was nice to see they were friends first and slowly Hollis wins her over with dates, flowers and a lot of nickname calling (I don’t know where the author came up with all these nicknames… the one from Anything But Minor by Kate Stewart was brilliant btw). I think the slow building friendship to lovers is necessary in their story because both Hollis and Melony harbor some guilt and trust issue from the past. I think the time helps them build a stronger, more mature, real, and lasting relationship.

Well, what can I say but Meghan has a real talent for rom com. She DELIVERS every single time – like all her other books, Stroke Hard is funny, sweet, swoony, and oh so romantic. Folks! BIG DADDY is all mine! ADORE him. I can’t get enough of Meghan – can’t wait for what’s next!
LOVE YOU Meghan!

How did this Happen....
You Sneaky Author, you....

Meghan Quinn already captured my imagination with the Olympic stars of the pool, Reese and Bodi...
She teased me with little snippets of Hollis Knightly, Diving Gold Medalist...

Reveals of the wonder of him....
In all his glory, if you get my meaning....

And Hollis... when he decides on pursuing the one he is interested in....
Watch out... Because she will get all of his "Focus"...and that ain't no little thing....
Heh, heh....

I wasn't sure if I would enjoy this one as much as the others in this series, because (Olympic diver) Hollis Knightly with the perfect abs just seemed so... outrageous. Ridiculously cocky, pervy, mouthy, blunt, funny, and oh yeah--sexy...but was this guy ever serious?

I had no need to worry. I fell in love with him and he even made me cry. I just loved his single-minded persistent pursuit of Melony, even if she was the toughest nut to crack. The sexual tension was just sooooo delicious in this one, building up to their first encounter and...wow. H..O..T.
This is what sexual chemistry should be like.

Perfect story that had everything--I couldn't put it down. 2017 is off to a great start!

5 star hero, 1 star heroine

I tried. I really tried. But the whole, "I'm worthless, no one will ever love me" type heroine I just can't stomach. Especially when said heroine doesn't focus on the main point that her mother, her mother, has been there her whole life, has loved her, done all she can for her, but not once, not one time in the whole "woe is me" routine the heroine had going on did she even think about how she was worthy of her mother's love. It was as if, her mother's love wasn't worth anything, that she wasn't lovable because her dad left. Her mom, well, she doesn't matter. Her love doesn't matter. It made me so mad.

Hollis was the perfect hero because he just wouldn't give up on her. I loved that about him, but you know what? He deserved better. He never, not once ever gave her any reason to doubt him and it took the entire book for her to realize that. The kicker? She never once apologized to Hollis for doubting him, for hurting him! Hurting him! She crushed him and she never once said she was sorry for that. For me, that was the final straw. He had to make some grand gesture, some The Notebook, Noah Calhoun, gesture just to prove he loved her! His 8 months of devotion meant nothing.

There are books out there where the author has created a heroine who has a broken past, a past where she had no one, and her character wasn't as annoying (not annoying at all, Joss from On Dublin Street, I'm talking about here, if it isn't obvious), as this heroine, who still had her mother!!! Joss lost her entire family and was protective of herself because she didn't want loss like that again, but she didn't become a character I wanted to smack across the face and say: "Wake up!!! Look what you have right in front of you!!!" (Which no one said that to the heroine, by the way, and they needed to).

Oh and then, she misses his diving event, is at first, barely excited about his win and when he finally, **Lynsey sings hallelujah!** finally gets upset with her and she says, “Hollis,” Melony says again, “don’t be mad at me," she's all sad and hurt. When Hollis says back to her,“Too fucking late,” I respond right before we get to my family, I wanted to cheer!

Wow, huge rant, but this book just pissed me off so much. Hollis deserved much better than Melony. I liked her in the beginning but she just got worse.

If a heroine like this annoys you, save yourself and skip this book. It isn't worth it. The first 2 are pretty good. Read those, instead.

Show me the most damaged parts of your soul, and I will show you how it shines like gold. ~Nikita Gill

Since I was a little girl, I’ve always loved a good fairy tale where I could pretend to be a princess and marvel in magic. Today my favorite fairy tales are romance books, love stories with a hard-fought happily ever after. I live and feel fantasies through love stories like Stroked Hard by Meghan Quinn. Enchanting and Entertaining, Stroked Hard is a sports romance with a feel-good fairy tale twist that radiates the perfect balance of heat, humor, and heart.

I FELL IN INSTA-LOVE WITH EVERYTHING STROKED HARD!!! Stroked Hard cast a spell on me from the first page, seducing every ounce of me. I was utterly addicted as this story swiftly satisfied my ache to laugh, and oh did I howl with laughter, while also lighting me up with lust from head to toe. I was caught like a fish in the water as this story claimed every part of me. I WAS ALL IN!!!

After meeting the all-star Olympic diver, Hollis Knightly, in Stroked, I suspected his story would be my favorite of this series…and oh did Hollis hook me HARD! Hollis Knightly is equal parts HOT and hilarious. I fell in love with him from the very beginning, a love as strong as his chiseled abs.
Oh how the incredible Hollis puts most book boyfriends to shame!

A is for alpha as Hollis is the ultimate alpha and also abs because of the glorious six-pack Hollis rocks that is so hard and perfect
B is for blue eyes as deep as the ocean that penetrate passion and the big package under Hollis’ speedo
C is for confident and cocky attitude that is extra hot
D is for devoted as Hollis is a rare, one-gal man, a boyfriend not bed hopper
E is for entertaining and endearing as you can’t help but be amused and addicted to Hollis
F is for both flirting and f**king where Hollis is also a gold medal expert
G is for gallant because Hollis is brave with his constant pursuing of a gal until she can’t resist him
H is for huge heart as Hollis' has a heart of gold; hot as Hollis is panty-melting hot with his perfect fauxhawk, tall and muscular body; and hilarious as in over-the-top hilarious

Hollis is a man of so many talents that I could list them all to Z and beyond, but I’ll sum it up and say he is PURE PERFECTION and one of my ultimate alphas. For this alpha, it was an instant attraction when he laid eyes on the beautiful makeup artist, Melony, first seen in Stroked.

“Ah, so you know who I am. I knew you did from the way you tried to see through my shirt. Don’t worry, sweetheart, the abs everyone talks about are real.”

With her light brown hair, green eyes, lush lips, and perfect body, Hollis wants a taste of this pretty lady who won’t give him the time of day though he won’t stop trying to woo Melony with a lethal dose of heat and humor.

“I’m going to take that as a no.”
“Take that as a go to hell.”
“That’s a little hostile for someone who was just staring at my crotch for ten minutes.”
“I was not staring at your crotch.”
“Hey, it’s okay. No need to be embarrassed. I have the kind of crotch worth staring at. Just try to keep it under five minutes next time. It gets a little awkward if your staring is any longer than that.”

I love a man who makes me laugh and Hollis’ lines made me howl with laughter! I giggled so hard that my gut ached. Meghan Quinn’s comedy is PURE GENIUS!!!

My body that hurt from laughing was soon ignited with lust as Hollis is one delicious dirty-talker. HOLY HOT!!!

“Sooner or later, I will be f**ing you against a wall, fingering you under the dinner table, and eating that sweet pussy of yours on the kitchen counter. Mark my f**ing words, Melony, I am going to woo you so hard, you won’t know what hit you.”

Melony is having a hard time fighting the chemistry she and Hollis have, a spark that ignites whenever he is near her, so hot it nearly burns. The sexual tension is so thick it could be cut with a knife…so powerful and passionate.

“…He looks at me. No, he’s not looking. He’s devouring me with a passion-filled gaze I’ve never seen on a man before. It’s like he’s on fire…for me.”

The passion bleeds through the pages, penetrating through me. I’M IN SO MUCH LOVE!!!

“God, he’s going to kiss me. And I’m going to let him…Just one taste. Just one night. That’s all I want. One night with Hollis. So he’ll move on.”

That kiss is off-the-charts hot but so much more. Intense. Incredible. The kiss of a lifetime.

“This isn’t just about sleeping with you, Melony. This is about getting to know you; when I find something I like, I go after it.”

Under this gorgeous and alluring alpha with the perfect physique, is an old-fashioned romantic, something rare in a man. This perfect man wants Melony and he’s pursuing her like his next gold medal.

“One thing you need to know about, Melony, I’m the real thing.”

Stroked Hard seduced every part of me. I was spellbound, swimming in swoon, where I did not want to surface for air. I WAS ALL IN.

Melony has walls up that make the Great Wall of China look like LEGO bricks; her heart is guarded from a painful past.

“I’m damaged, not good enough to keep around. I’m not the one a man would stay for.”

Brick by brick. Word by word. Action by action. Kiss by kiss. Hollis is determined to destroy Melony’s walls. This knight-in-shining armor is going to claim his maiden, Melony.

“There is no rhyme or reason to what I’m doing. I’m just taking everything I’ve ever wanted when it comes to this woman. I’m just hoping she’s willing to hand it all over.”

Hollis’ story made me swoon where I became breathless as I bathed in the butterflies fluttering in me. My heart was his!!! Hollis has a huge heart and oh did he hijack my heart, owning all of my laughs and love, owning ALL OF ME. Oh is Hollis Knightly a knight-in-shining armor, a panty-melting Prince Charming, with charm and sentiment in spades.

Stroked Hard by Meghan Quinn was one sweet surprise of a story that hugged my heart and stroked my soul where I swooned in spades. Oh did my soul soar to the stars! Stroked Hard struck me hard and fast with ALL THE FEELS. I LOVED THIS STORY SOOOO MUCH! Stroked Hard brought my favorite Cinderella fairy tale to life and I loved living through this dreamy delight of a romantic read full of heat, humor, and heart!

Intoxicating and incredible, Stroked Hard is a phenomenal page-turner that penetrated me from beginning to end. I smiled, smoldered, shed tears, snickered, and swooned through Stroked Hard. Meghan Quinn’s books become more brilliant with each one, and this is her BEST BOOK YET!!!Filled with feels, anchored in angst and amusement, and laced with love, Stroked Hard BLEW AWAY!

I’m still swimming in swoon, stroked hard, in a fairy tale with a powerful prince and princess who rendered me utterly spellbound. Oh how I did not want this spellbinding and swoon-filled story to end. Stroked Hard is my beloved Cinderella but much better, a fairy tale that’s still hijacking my heart and dancing in my dreams.

Stroked Hard.. It's not just another book. It's not that third in the series where you're like ‘fuck, should a ended at two’ or ‘you're beating a dead horse author’. No, it’s an all consuming, I can't get enough, I need more and if you don't give it to me I may cry third book, that you want to cuddle and run your tongue over its perfectly defined abs… Wait what that's fucking weird, books don't have abs…

Meghan’s writing puts you right there with the characters.. When your reading their conversation you feel like you are there listening.. When you read about the characters lingering kiss, you feel it on your lips.. When you read about Hollis’s perfect body you see it in your mind and you wanna touch it. You wanna touch it bad.. That's what Meghan's writing does it leaves you feeling like you experiences everything the characters did.

You know that feeling you get in the pit of your stomach.. The butterflies, nervous, anxious feeling? That's the feeling I had coming into Stroked Hard. Meghan stole my heart with Bodi Banks and meeting Hollis Knightly was the scariest thing I could imagine. I didn't know if I would be able to get over Bodi enough to move on and give the Dive Master the chance he deserved. My fears were unneeded, Hollis dove his way into my heart in the first fucking chapter, sorry Bodi.

Where do I start? Oh I know.., Hollis, I'll start with Hollis! I seriously had to take timeouts just so that my mind wasn't convinced this man was earl and needed to be in my life…
He isn't your typical cocky, perverted jock… Oh wait yes he fucking is. He's gorgeous, built to fuck, athletic, cocky, perverted and smart. He's a joking smartass with killer stalking tendencies ( I may need to take lessons), he's romantic and he's loyal.
He makes you want to be his best friend, slap him in the nuts and fuck him senseless at the same time. He draws you in with his witty humor, his persistence and his SoCal is something to behold. He is the type of person everyone should have in their lives. He is true soulmate, little brother and best friend material. He's the perfect character in my opinion. He's very well rounded, athletic, possessive it not in a I drag my knuckles and pound my chest type of way. He holds on to things is his own kind of broken. Heck I better shut up or you will be here all night reading about how much I love Hollis, which is starting to border on obsessive and we just met.

So what else can I tell you about the characters.. Oh I know..

I went in with a prepared opinion of the female lead in my head, based solely on her name and my past. Then Meghan totally obliterated me with Melony. I wanted to hate her solely based on past experiences and then bam. We were two peas in a pod. I related to her like we grew up in the same life. Meghan pulled me in and brought me close to this character, this character that I wanted to hate based solely on my own shit but I couldn't. I think I fell just as hard for Melony as I did for the walking abs. She beautiful, intelligent, driven, sassy and scared. She makes you want to hold her but then get her wasted and watch her dance on a table because she seems like she'd be a fun friend to have around. I don't want to tell you too much about her because I want you to go in meet her and fall just as hard for her as I did.

The other characters; most of them you have met, some are new. The new characters are amazing, the Knightly family should be role models for how families need to be. Yeah they have had their hard times but they are their for each other. Not to mention they are all unique and fun.
There are a few other new characters like Melony’s mom, who is amazing and the way she fits in with the characters so easily is very impressive.
All the characters are well written and very much in their roles for this book. There is never a ‘oh my goodness not that character again’ or a ‘we don't need to know this shit’ part of the book. It all flows together seamlessly, you get just the right amount of information about everything and just the right glimpse into who the character is and what role they play. And yes, Pocket is still creepy as fuck and Queen B is still a egotistical self righteous AssClown.

I found there were a lot of not so hidden, hidden messages in this book. Maybe I rad too much into a few things or maybe Meghan wrote this book just to make us think more but I know I took so much away from this book, not just my new love of Hollis and my crazy girl crush on Melony. I took away a lot of messages, from experiences by the characters, to conversations between them and general things written in just to make you think. Or at least they made me think.

One of my favourite parts of this book, and no I don't think it will be a spoiler… Is how Meghan brought the indie book world into the book. It was subtle and some will pass it and not even release they read it but those of us who love and support the indie authors and this wonderful book community we have will feel proud to see it written into her pages, or at least I did.

Okay enough of my rambling. My review in a nutshell. I fucking loved this book. Meghan hit the water with a stunning and beautiful splash that consumed me and made me fall in love with not just another book boyfriend but two amazing characters that I will be sure to keep close and visit often.

Please read this wonderfully humorous, romantic and overall brilliant story and then tell the world what you thought.

Stroked Hard (Stroked #3) by Meghan Quinn
4.5 stars!!!

“Let’s make fiction become a reality for us. I’m in, are you?”

One thing I always know when I pick up a Meghan Quinn book is I’m going to laugh…a lot, I’m going to love…a lot and definitely swoon…a lot. Throughout this Stroked series Meghan Quinn has already produced two drool worthy heroes and now she delivers a third and definitely saves her best till last.

“And lastly, to the finger that pressed on my perineum, may your digit forever be plated in gold for making my dick grow an extra two inches. God bless you, finger, God bless you.”

Hollis Knightly is a two times Olympic gold medallist for ten metre diving and is currently training to compete in his third. Hollis at first glance is a cheeky chappie, who oozes, charm, self-confidence and sex appeal. He has abs to die for and packs a mean budgie in his smugglers. He knows he could have his pick of any woman should he be so inclined, but our Hollis is a romantic at heart. Hollis is a relationship man, he doesn’t play the field and when he loves, he loves hard. He reads romance novels on his kindle, he is at home with Nicholas Sparks, has a heart of gold and is humble with it. Hollis was perfect…if any woman could design a man, Hollis would be a prime example, there was nothing not to love about him.

“Now if only I could get your heart in my hands, then I would be golden.”

Hollis was an old soul, with his own ideals when it comes to relationships. When he goes in, he goes all in and gives the object of his desires his all. Hollis doesn’t give up, he has tenacity and staying power, he is driven and focused, but never to the point of being an asshole. Hollis comes from a loving family and has a twin sister, he aspires to have the same as his parents and they were fantastic role models for love and marriage. When Hollis first meets Melony he is enamoured, Melony was the opposite of his norm, but there was something about her that Hollis was completely smitten with but she makes him work for it. Hollis has his own ghosts too and it was sad, yet heart-warming to see his vulnerable side too.

“Don’t think too much, just feel.”

Melony was Bellini’s make-up artist, the long suffering “Melon” that only put up with her crap for the money. Melony has her own ideas and aspirations for her own make-up line and her long suffering stint with Bellini was a means to an end…to fund her future. Melony is a walking advert for “daddy issues” and is completely jaded when it comes to men, love and relationships. Melony has abandonment issues, her heart is extremely guarded and she is a tough nut to crack, but underneath that hardened shell was a woman that was desperate to be loved, even if she couldn’t see it in the first instance.

“I’m everything he ever wished for…Then why do I feel so damn broken?”

The chase is long and the chase is hard and Hollis needs every weapon in his arsenal to break down the fortress that is Melony. However, our Hollis does romance, he has books worth of knowledge and pulls out every stop to achieve what he wants…Melony to love him. For Hollis, the attraction was instant but it takes Melony time to warm up, yes, she couldn’t deny he was the epitome of perfection to look at, but for Melony to take that chance she needed to know the man underneath the abs and why she took so long to succumb to the inevitable was testament to the damage that her father had left her with.

“Cherish his heart, you will want to use it for protection over yours.”

As with any Meghan Quinn book the banter was spot on, side splitting hilarious and tear inducing, this woman knows how to pen a rom com. While her humour is in the gutter at times, that is where mine resides too and this is definitely why I always relate to her stories. But this book is so much more than the witty one liners and Hollis’s ego. Hollis is one of the most swoon worthy heroes I have read about in a long time and he will have your heart and panties melting with his sigh inducing repertoire. But Hollis has the hugest of hearts and the fact that he wasn’t a player was so refreshing. He has only ever had relationships and only a few at that. While Melony’s hang ups were a tad exhausting at times I could understand where she was coming from. I can see her being a hard character to warm up to for some, but please give her a chance. Another fantastic book from Meghan Quinn and I for one cannot wait to read the next one.

I want to preface this review by saying that I love Meghan Quinn's books, they are super funny! She definitely has a very peculiar and fun writing style that I enjoy. I also love the Stroked series. However, Stroked Hard is my least favorite of the 3 books, although it was also a super funny read.

Stroked Hard is book 3 in the series and it's Hollis and Melony's book. If you have read the previous Stroked books, you know Hollis is an Olympic diver and Melony works doing hair and makeup to Bellini, who is hands down one of the worst villains in history.

When Hollis and Melony meet, he instantly falls in love with her. Turns out Hollis is a hopeless romantic and it's looking for a serious relationship. However, Melony is not looking for anything serious, so she resists, and resists and resists some more.

To be honest, Melony is definitely my least favorite heroine in this series. I couldn't connect with her and she frustrated me to no end. I was ready for Hollis to give up on her! But Hollis was mega hot, mega swoony and ridiculously funny, the things that came out of his mouth were hilarious.

Overall, Stroked Hard was a good read but in my opinion not as good as the other books in this series. I did enjoy Hollis and OMG, the epilogue was gold, too funny! I definitely recommend this series if you're looking for something hot and over the top funny!

4.5 BIG DADDY STARS

Meghan Quinn delivers another hilarious, yet completely sweet and romantic addition to her Stroked series with Stroked Hard!

Hollis and Melony's romance will completely steal your heart. Melony is closed off to emotion, really of any kind, but especially love. Her resistance to Hollis throughout most of the book is based on her own insecurities and damage from the past, which allows readers to sympathize with her, even as they want to wring her neck from her behavior. At her core though, she is desperately searching for love and acceptance, and Meghan Quinn has created a character that is so appealing that readers want that for her, too. Going into this novel, Bodi was the favorite character in this series, and he is still an amazing character, but Hollis's lightness, humor, and motivation to chase what he wants moves him just slightly above Bodi. Hollis's humor is what readers have come to expect from Meghan Quinn's heroines, but in Stroked Hard, the readers get to experience this hilarity through the hero of the story. His antics, nicknames, and general tom-foolery will have readers laugh-out-loud, but not only does his antics serve as comedic purpose of the novel, they make his character completely charming. His romance game is also completely on point thanks to his love of romance novels. (Let me just say, Hollis can Noah Calhoun me any time!). It is hard not to fall in love with this man's charisma and huge heart, plus his skills between the sheets thanks to those romance novels doesn't hurt his case at all. The banter and jokes between these two is compelling, and the reader takes pure enjoyment in watching the chase between these two.

Like the couple, the book has a lighter, sweet romantic tone to it, which is a direct result of the main characters of the Stroked Hard. Hollis's pursuit of Melony is comical yet sweet, and his advances are entertaining, making the story a fast paced read. More than just the entertaining and hilarious moments of the book, the author also integrates moments of raw emotion, usually from Melony. These scenes really expose the hurt and betrayal that plagues the characters, and these scenes, more than the comedic ones, are what really lend itself to the development of Hollis and Melony as a couple, creating a pairing that readers root for the whole way through the book. And, in true Meghan Quinn fashion, she does not let her readers down, providing them with an epilogue that will warm hearts.

Meghan Quinn continues to impress with her romantic comedies, truly providing readers with endearing tales of love and great laughs. Her stories never fail to put a smile on my face, and for that alone, she will continue to be a one-click author for me.

:: 5 Pretty Little Stars ::

Stroked Hard is a comedic masterpiece! It mixes real life issues (such as abandonment) with humor, sexy men in speedos, and devilishly funny stalking tendencies. This book – and the rest of the series – had me giggle snorting from start to finish. Hollis, the stories hero, is wickedly charming and completely incapable of understanding the word no. He sees what he wants, goes after it, and won’t stop until he gets what he wants. The stories heroine, Melony (aka Melon to Bellini) has a fear of relationships and has no plan of ever getting involved in one. She has serious abandonment issues and a closed off heart. This is quite a unique aspect of the book as normally the tables are turned in other romances. So, this adds a unique quality to the book, making it stand out from the rest. So, what happens when Mr. Romantic and Ms. Unromantic come face to face? A battle of wills and wars of the heart! Overall, this is a fantastically funny and downright charming book. Readers who love men with big hearts will want to pick this one up. Our hero in this one is a man after our own hearts. Why? He loves romance novels, and is a one-woman kind of man, and he DOES the relationship thing. Sounds like the man of many women’s dreams, right? HE IS! Honestly, I cannot say enough good things about this book (and series) and highly recommend each and every book to fellow readers. The men in these books are endearing, unique in terms of who they are, and downright mouthwatering. The heroines of each book are perfect as well. Each have their own qualities and readers will quickly feel like they are reading about their own best friends. So, make sure to grab you copies of this amazing series. You will NOT be disappointed. In fact, I can almost guarantee that once you read about these sexy men and their lovable ladies that you will immediately want to read more of the authors work. Highly recommended!
