Finding Destiny

Alternate Cover Edition for ASIN: B00IDTGUJA

Skylar has rules. Destiny has him breaking every last one of them.

Destiny was looking forward to a bit of solitude in the north to beat away the winter blues. That was the plan. Destiny liked plans. But plans don’t always work out the way you want them to.

Skylar never expected to find three ladies trudging through the snow, in the middle of nowhere, during the biggest snow storm of the year. He’s forced to invite Destiny and her friends back to his cabin. Though he tried to ignore what was subtly unravelling between them, he couldn’t discount their attraction. The way Destiny could read into his thoughts and the way his jealousy raged at the thought of his brother taking her to his bed, he knew he had better stake his claim. But when tragedy strikes, torn from her arms at lightning speed, Skylar’s left to wonder whether he would ever find his destiny.

This was a really good love story. Skylar and Destiny where meant to meet in a chance encounter. You can feel the chemistry from the both of them.
It was hot, sexy, intriguing, caring, loving and even some heartache.
Definitely an easy read though.

I was given this book by PR&ATR for an honest review, and I thank them for that!

you know, sometimes, you just need a book to wile away an hour (or two, depending on your reading speed!) that has an uncomplicated plot, nothing too deep and dark, that you can just shut the world off and visit with the characters?? THIS is such a book.

Destiny and her 2 friends, Felicia and Natalie, have spent a small fortune on a Valentine getaway, to get away from it all. only Mother Nature has other ideas, and their truck breaks down. the girls are rescued by Skylar, Matty and Miles. Something passes between Sky and Destiny, even though not a word is said. the girls are forced to retreat to Sky and Matty's cabin, to await Mother Nature finishing her hissy hit.

Bubbling under the surface, the tension between Sky and Destiny almost jumps off the page, also, the fact that both of these characters have been hurt before. it doesn't go into much detail about HOW they have been hurt, and that's just fine, because you don't really need it. the scenes between Sky and Destiny are well written, with all the emotions they are feeling coming across in all the right places. you get why they need to be with each other, but also why they don't want to, if you see what I mean?? sex is hot, but not too explicit, but its not needed in this book.

one thing I noted, and not really sure WHY I noted it! the F-word appears only a couple of times in the book, said by Destiny every time, and to me, it stood out. Now, don't get me wrong, some swearing is all well and good, but I just felt it was out of place in this story. just my opinion, and some other readers might not even notice it. I only DID because, like I said, out of place.

this is only a short story, approx. 100 pages, and I don't like the story would work as a longer book. also, is there a story for Matty and Felicia somewhere in there, especially after their accident??

Destiny does not like Valentines Day. So instead of sitting home by herself her and her two friends

are going to a resort that they paid an arm and a leg for. However they did not expect to run into a

snow storm on the way and for her friends truck to die on them. They decide to walk and see what

they can find and run into 3 guys on snow mobiles. Destiny as automatically attracted to one of them

which she finds strange and doesn’t know what to do about it. Her friend Felicia flirts shamelessly with

the other two. One ends up leaving after they get to their cabin. Felicia automatically hits it off with

Skylar’s brother Matty.

Skylar and the men in his family live by a set of rules. Every one of those rules went out the window

the moment he laid his eyes on Destiny. But when tragedy strikes and they have to part ways they

have to figure out how they really feel about each other and if they feel like it is worth it to find each

other. Will their relationship survive?

I thought that this was a great book. It is a fairly short story but you are not shorted anything. It is a

whirlwind relationship. They meet, they get to know each other a bit and then things go forward. They

end up dealing with a tragedy after her friend gets restless and wants to go to the resort and wants her

truck fixed. Skylar is torn about what to do but Destiny makes his decision easier. They eventually have

to decide if they want to make a go of the relationship or if they will just consider it a fun weekend. I

definitely recommend reading. You will love this story and it’s characters. I give it 4.5 Hearts.

Holy hotness! This novella may be short but it's sexy, filled with hot men and more!

Christa knows how to write men we will love and believe me you will fall in love with Skylar and the other men as well.

Both Skylar and Destiny have relationship issues but when they are together it's like magic. Both are surprised with the sudden feelings they feel towards each other despite the amount of time they have known one another.

I loved Skylar's way of reading Destiny and the same for her. They are two wonderful people but can they get an HEA with their fears and unexpected circumstances?

If you loved the Twisted Series by Christa, then you will love this novella too! It's filled with laughs, sex, sexiness, sexy men and more that will have you wanting more!

You will be wanting a Skylar of your own and hoping some HOT men can come to your rescue the next time you are stranded in the snow or not.

5 snow bound stars from me.

Incredible read! I am Destiny in a nutshell; with the exception of the job loss, fantastic spa retreat, and slutty friend. Oh, and I've been stranded in the snow, but hot guys on snow mobiles did not come to my rescue lol. All that aside, I definitely connected with a girl lonely on Valentines day, who gave up on love, and just wanted to relax with her girls and find direction. If that's ever been you then this book is a must read. Or if your looking for a new book boyfriend Skylar is grade A prime choice angus steak! ;-)

Honestly, when I first started reading this book I was slightly concerned that I had gotten myself involved in a horror story instead of a romance. It starts off with three young, single women who decide to go away over Valentine’s weekend for a spa trip. On their drive to the spa they get lost in a terrible snow storm which causes their truck to break down. They all decide to get out and walk for help, but one of the ladies sprains her ankle during the journey. Along come three burly men on snowmobiles who take them away to a secluded cabin in the middle of the woods.

Don’t worry though! This book has nothing to do with pretty women getting hacked to bits by masked villains. Instead, it’s a tale of love between Destiny, one of the women from the broken down truck, and Skylar, one of the snowmobile men who rescued them. Skylar and Destiny are immediately smitten with each other, but they are hesitant at first to act on their desires. Probably because they just met about 35 minutes ago. On the other hand Skylar’s brother Matty, and Destiny’s friend Felicia aren’t afraid to make use of their stranded situation to jump all over each other. Literally.

This book does take place over Valentine’s Day, but thankfully it isn’t filled too cheesily with flowers, boxes of chocolates, hearts and kisses. That being said, considering the female lead’s name was Destiny, it’s pretty obvious that there was going to be a play on words with her name and their “destiny” to fall in love. I think it happened at least twice, and although each time was extremely cheesy the rest of the book wasn’t too bad. The sex between our characters was oh so wonderfully hot and descriptive. A few headboards were banging, they steamed up some car windows, and there was quite a lot of nylon ripping involved.

I did have one main issue with this book, and that is it was too short! Not just because I liked it so much and wanted more, which I did, but also because Destiny and Skylar basically fall in love over the span of a weekend. I get it, that’s maybe possible, but the two pretty much went from sex bunnies to soul mates in the blink of a snow storm. It was a minor issue I had, but definitely not a deal breaker. There is a pretty big event which happens near the end of the book though that brings them closer together. For such a short novella it’s surprising how much actually takes place plot-wise. A great Valentine’s read!

I liked this book, it was a quick and fun read. Skylar did have rules, a love 'em and leave 'em kind of guy but when Destiny comes along, she's a total game changer. I like that this wasn't just an insta-love kind of thing. I thought their relationship was simple with no problems, if only it could be like that for real. I was so glad that Skylar wanted to take it slow with Destiny, he didn't put on the 'charm' on her to get what he wanted. He really liked her and he wanted to do right by her. I thought it was so sweet how their feelings grew for each other and they didn't know how each other felt. I was happy to see that they had each other. I also liked that the 'tragedy' that happened ended up how it did.
With that said, the cover looks awesome and their time in the sheets was burning hot. I'm so glad I got the opportunity to read this one cause it was definitely fun. A sweet story with two hot guys in it, couldn't get any better.

Unforeseen circumstances have brought Destiny and Skylar together. Although they initially try to suppress their obvious attraction for one another, their increasing desire can not be squashed. Thus, creating one the most memorable moments in both Destiny's and Skylar's lives. Something unexpected severs their time together and Destiny becomes determined to find Skylar and find out where she stands.

I found Christa Simpson's novella to be a fun and easy read. I also feel that this could definitely become another trilogy. There were secondary characters that I would love to become more acquainted with. If this were to be the case, I would not hesitate to add them to my library as well!!

I have received this book from Irresistible Reads Book Tours in exchange of an honest review.
Finding Destiny is a short book but it's great and extremely sexy.
The characters in this book are wonderful and very well-written. The relationship between Skylar and Destiny is very well-written, hot and believable. These characters have great chemistry and I was hoping they would find a way to be together right from the start.
My only compain about this book (which is not really a complain but more of a wish) is that I wanted this book to be longer!
Finding Destiny is very well-written and entertaining. I'll definitely be checking Christa Simpson's other books soon.

I wanted to like this more but it just felt like a struggle to connect with any of the characters. None of them seemed to have much depth. Destiny was a bit whiney and just seemed to constantly jump from 'I hate all men' to pouting about why Skylar hadn't jumped her yet. Skylar was okay but again seemed to flit from, 'I don't do relationships' to macho caveman possessiveness over Destiny. It felt very scattered and the reasons for their both holding back from anything other than a fling were never particularly explained very well. The secondary characters kind of got on my nerves - Matty made me smile a few times but Felicia was over-the-top easy while Natalie was nasty and bitchy to her supposed friends. Managed to finish but don't think will be looking for the next one.

Short n Sweet

This a short and sweet read. I enjoyed the main characters and their story.

Their were quite a few moments where I had to re read to clarify who was thinking or saying what - seemed to be some errors in pronouns .

Overall, a good read

Received arc from Christa Simpson through Black Widow Publishing in exchange for an honest review. Original post can be found at:
http://mnonmklreviews.blogspot.com/20...

When given the opportunity to read BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN, Christa also gave review copies of book one, a novella by the name of FINDING DESTINY. I had every intention of reading it first (as I usually try to when it comes to series), but my schedule became erratic and it didn't happen.

So after reading BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN, I dove into Destiny and Skylar's book. They met at the same time as Matty and Felicia, and were getting married in BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN, so I wanted to see how their relationship came to be.

Now, before I delve into the love that is Destiny and Skylar, I want to point out that I was most excited about reading this book so I could kind of see the accident and what happens to Matty through his brother's eyes. Skylar pushes Matty a bit in BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN, and while they look alike, you already know they couldn't be a whole lot more different (...excluding their other brother, that is -- Matty and Skylar could be two peas in a pod when comparing them to Carter).

I wasn't expecting to not like Matty, or even Felicia for that matter. When you read BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN, you get a sense of great chemistry. They get along fabulously and are playful, fun, and quite honestly, a great couple.

But when you see Matty and Felicia when they first meet? When you see them through the eyes of Skylar and Destiny? You see two people who like to have loose, easy fun with the opposite sex. Matty, we know, is a ladies man. Well, Felicia gave as good as she got, too -- and her smart mouth in BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN? Well, girl's got spunk and tells it like it is, even before she can use lines like "You're in a wheelchair!" or "But you can't walk..!".

Had I read FINDING DESTINY first, I don't think I would have liked Matty or Felicia. Well, "not liked" is a bit rough, but they certainly wouldn't have warranted my undying attention in their book.

Skylar and Destiny, though... what a sweet coupling.

Skylar is very much Matty's opposite in terms of being easy and loose. He takes things slow(...-er) with Destiny. I mean, c'mon, you can only take things so slow when you're stranded for two days and you're extremely attracted to the other person. Sure, he doesn't do strings and is male so obviously, he enjoys his sexual encounters... but he goes about them differently than his younger brother.

Destiny, on the other hand, has trust issues, is a bit on the shyer side, and is a bit cautious.

Skylar doesn't want strings...

...but he wants Destiny.

Their two days together were easy and fun. When the accident happens and they separate, Destiny isn't sure if she should go to him or not.

I loved every single part of FINDING DESTINY (including the writing style and the tense written in -- as opposed to BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN). I loved how easy their relationship was. I loved that they were aware that it was awfully quick to be feeling what they were feeling, but wanted to give it a shot anyway.

I loved that Felicia wasn't naive enough to think that moving to his home town would make for a fabulous relationship, and when he comes and is seemingly distant... well, she puts together the only logical explanation... even if she were wrong.

I cannot tell you enough how much I loved these two.

Like I sad, I went into it for a different view at Matty & Felicia, and came out of it with a completely different feel. Totally team Destiny/Skylar when it comes to those Knight boys.

Firstly, setting this book around Valentine’s Day turned out to be nothing more than a pretext to introduce the female lead as being tired of men and uninterested in dating. Yawn. Nothing else about the story has the slightest thing to do with the holiday, to my disappointment.

Secondly, despite this introduction, she falls into bed with the first cute guy she meets after less than twenty-four hours of knowing him. So much for being tired of men, am I right? Because he’s just that hot, I guess.

Thirdly, there’s zero character development. Personality traits are shallow and unchanging. Dialogue is stilted and semi-ridiculous. The female lead doesn’t seem to give two shits about her friends, despite one of them being injured, and in her internal monologue she calls her other friend a “slut” for jumping into bed with the male lead’s brother right away.

Well, honey, she only beat you doing the same thing by about twelve hours, so what does that make you?

This story is basically a bare-bones Snowed In trope, where pretty people have sex with each other because they’re stuck together and might as well do something.

This is a perfect Valentines Day themed novella!

Destiny has sworn off men for now, and is not really having any luck in life in general, so she's and her girlfriends are on their way to spend Valentines weekend at a spa type of resort. To get there though, they just have to get thru a severe winter storm...easier said then done.

After having an accident and being left stranded by the side of the road, Destiny and her friends are rescued by some guys that were out and about on their snowmobiles. And here we meet Skylar, aka Walking Sex, LOL! This man sounds like any woman's dream come true. Tall, broad-shouldered, has a lot of sexy tattoos...sigh, I want one. So after the men get the women back to their cabin tucked away in the woods, Destiny and Skylar get to know one another, one thing leads to another.........

Alright, I can't give away all of the smexy, smexy details of this book, but, if you're looking for a quick, super sexy read that will warm up your winter night, I recommend this one! It had me hooked and I gobbled it all up in 2 sittings. It would have been 1 had work not gotten in the way, pfft! I'll be waiting for what's to come with the rest of this series, and I'll check out some other titles this author has to offer as well!

Destiny is heading to a spa over Valentine's Day weekend with two of her girl friends. She is tired of holidays that make single people feel bad, and she doesn't have a lot of faith in men right now. She and her friends are caught in a winter storm on they way to the spa when their truck breaks down. They are rescued by a couple brothers who have a cabin near by. Skylar isn't looking for any relationship that lasts longer than a night, but he is very quickly attracted to Destiny and finds himself wanting more with her.

As with many novellas, it is sometimes hard to fully connect with the characters and story in a shorter period of time. I think we do get a sense that both Skylar and Destiny are experiencing feelings that neither was expecting, but it still feels like some of the feelings come into play a little quickly. A tragedy takes place, and I think it is after that point when we start to see that Skylar and Destiny are a good support for one another in addition to their strong physical attraction. I thought Matty was really obnoxious, but I think that was sort of the point. All in all if you are looking for a quick read with a touch of angst and some steamy scenes, this might be a good pick for you.

Destiny is one of those girls that reminded me a cross between Meryl Streep's character in Mamma Mia and the main female character in the movie I Hate Valentine's Day. This Valentine's day, Destiny had planned for her and her two best friends Felicia and Natalie to have a spa weekend being the one's pampered and looked after. However, as we know the big guys up stairs that like to control the weather often have other things in plan and this Valentine's Day has called for a major snow storm. The snow storm leaves the girls stranded and eventually rescued by three handsome brothers on their snow bikes. However, this Valentine's Day will be interesting as one of the guys is taken which only leaves two and there are three of them. It should be alright though as Destiny has made it clear , she is not in the mood for another jerkwad guy to mess with her emotions. Though it seems Fate has something else planned this Valentine's Day as Skylar might just be the perfect guy for Destiny, if only he could break down a few of her walls and get her to trust him.
Find out in this quick novella read for a nice "Valentine's Day" read.

Destiny and her two friends Natalie and Felicia, decided on a weekend break to a spa. Driving in an unreliable truck, in a blizzard, they soon start having problems. After Natalie faking a sprained ankle, and by all miracles, three men on snowmobiles head their way and stop to help. Will their little vacation still go ahead?

This is a great little winter read, with some strong and cheeky characters and lots of sex. I don't it was written amazingly and it didn't capture my attention as much as I would of liked, but the story is great as a short read.

I'm looking forward to reading the second in the series, but am going to have to space it out a little.

This novella is the first book in this amazing series. The novella is very well written. This novella is fast-paced, easy to read, steamy, sexy, adventure, funny, sweet, and romantic. The characters are realistic and very likeable. Everything tied up nicely in the end with no clifhangers. Looking forward to reading the next book in this series. I just wanted to read this and see if it would change any of my opinions about book two in the series. It did not and I didn't get much out of this one either. It was lacking in character development and these characters were almost as thick as the characters in book two. I did however enjoy this one slightly more than the second book
