Saved by the Alpha

Rate this book
As Alpha of his clan, the handsome and powerful Keith Waldwyck is destined to mate with the most beautiful of female shifters.

Yet when Keith lays eyes on the human Melanie Richter, his wolf can't contain itself and is overcome with lust. He wants nothing more than to make Melanie his Mate, clan politics be damned.

But there’s a problem—being with a human is looked down upon, and promising himself to an outsider could bring the wrath of the other clans down upon him.

Despite the dangers that lay ahead, there are two things Keith knows for sure—Melanie will be his Mate…and she will carry his baby.

**Saved by the Alpha is a full-length shifter romance with an HEA, no cheating, and no cliffhanger.

Free copy for an honest review.
Lots of authors write about shape shifters and other paranormal creatures, a lot even as you are reading you recognise this is fantasy and not real. Some authors however can weave a story so good and interesting that you forget and the characters take on a real life, so real you believe and take them into your heart, Jessica Snow is one of them. I completely lost myself in this book and the characters lives, and the events happening in them. Quite a long book as well so you have time to really get to grips with all that's going on. I loved the inter connection that the main family characters had with each other, the strong bonds they built up with those being added into their core group. Fantastic read and I will be reading more by this author in the future.

A great read from start to finish , Melanie is running from bent cops when she is wounded & facing death , out of nowhere someone swoops from the top of the building shes hiding by & takes her to the roof top . When she wakes she finds herself in an entirely new world , after falling for Keith & being told him & his twin sister are Alpha wolves of their clan . Not everyone approves of an Alpha mating a human & it causes problems for Keith among the other wolf clans of North America . This story is full of love , betrayal & uniting in battle against a common enemy , hope there is more from thsi author to come .
i was given this book as an arc in exchange for honest review

This is a wonderful, interesting and intriguing shifter book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, I found this book to be one of the best I have read in a long time. What you will find in this book is drama, suspense, intrigue, chased, guns blazing, Triads, sex trade, corrupt policemen, corruption, betrayal, hunters, a war, a alpha wolf (Keith Waldwyck), a human female Detective (Melanie Richter), a mating rite, a pregnancy, insulted, a blood insult/trial by combat, fighting, Keith winning, an attack, abduction, Keith talking, bring in bear shifters, held by the Order of the Silver Bringers, a meeting with the bear shifters, Kim asked to mate with second son (Edward) of the alpha bear shifter, acceptance, meeting Edward, attractions, a lead from Mexico, a mental connection, a assault, rescued, wolf and bear shifters fighting together, a mating ceremony/betrothal between Kim and Edward, a gathering, went well, Melanie telling the gathering about the plans she was told about when in captivity, a vote, arm for war, later, it's time, a birth, a son, tests, Kim pregnant, the first blow has been done, a hunter supply depot has been blown up, leading another attack on the hunters, getting ready to attack the Archbishop who is the head of the order, the attack begins, Melanie and Akiko injured, waking up, welcome to the blood, the first step has been taken, asked to be first alpha to the clan Thornblood, Kim is pregnant with twins, lust, emotional feelings, love and erotic scenes. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written, the pace was steady and not rushed. The characters are well developed with personality and emotional feelings. I would recommend this book to people who like to read a well written shifter romance with a HEA.

DNF @ 15%

This books started off great. Kick arse heroine cop, running from crooked cops, even manages to shoot and kill in the first chapter. Prepared to go out fighting even though she knows she will die.

Then it went downhill.

Hero rescues heroine, takes her back to his place to recover. Suddenly weeks have passed in the story and they have developed a friendship that is all offline so we don’t get to feel the connection build.
Meanwhile every cop in the city is looking for her as the baddies made her out to be the baddie

They have sex, she passes out from the pleasure (please), he tells her who and what he is. She says she loves him but needs time.

So she goes for a walk……alone….while being the most wanted person in the world.
Gets threatened by a pimp, beats him up, gives cash to a pro and tells her to run and goes home to tell her lover she is all in, that they will take on the city for the children..then they screw again.

And that’s where I called it quits.

The Insta-love is unbelievable because it happens off scene, we don’t get to feel the connection
The writing was heavily dialogue based, but not good dialogue - felt over written.

It was ok

I felt that melanie ad keith getting together was too fast and not at all relistic I mean where is the romance and the chase if the author spent nore time with detailing the start of the story to begin with I think I would have enjoyed it more I also felt there was too many details on the politics of the story which I was bored with there wasnt alot of adventure or at anytime where I thought omg I cant put this book down infact I feel asleep at least 3 times reading this book. It was rushed at moments it should have been expanded I.e melanie and keith getting together was so rushed I f e lt like returning the book if I paid for this I would have been very disappointed thank goodness for kindle unlimited. I was being nice giving 3 * I tried to give a 2* rating but there were some good points to it although some were just plain weird

Great book

At first I felt the relationship between Keith and Melanie was a bit rushed; but, as I continued reading, I realized Ms. Snow was laying the foundation for a much larger and more involved story line. Despite the intricate story line, Ms. Snow was able to keep it all intact and easy to follow. I truly enjoyed this book.

A great tale full of mystery, love, passion, alphas, and family. Loved the characters and the story line. The connection between the siblings was great, as was the connections between the mates.

Over-written, needlessly complicated and seemingly endless. I didn’t enjoy the first/second mate/clan BS. I won’t be continuing with the series or the author. Sorry.

This book had me from page one. I love werewolf stories. This one was unique because it brought a human & bear into the equation. The ending was heartbreaking & joyful at the same time.

While a lot of the expressions used are slightly old fashioned in this day and age it fits perfectly. The storyline and characters keep you enthralled right to the end

I chose this series because of the Reputation of the works of the author. I was not disappointed, it was action pack from the beginning. I was intrigued from anxious from the start. I look forward to the next chapters.

Well I enjoyed the idea of this shifter read, although it did start to get a but long winded half way through, I kind of wanted the story to move faster and give me a HEA.
Melanie, a cop trying to fight corrupt cops is caught out when the cops try to kill her but she's rescued by Keith, a Lycan shifter, he's also alpha of his clan. After helping Mel recover, Keith explains the circumstances and offers to help Mel bring the cops to justice. Along with his twin sister Kim, they look after Mel but Keith starts to find himself more involved with Mel daily and before long they can't help their feelings. Mating an alpha werewolf has its problems but Mel doesn't really know what she's let herself in for until things go wrong.
Good story and plot, it just took a long time to get to the end and I started to lose interest. Great characters, lots of angst, lots of hot steamy sex, nice romantic moments, some heartbreaking moments but overall it was a nice read.

This Shifter book is a tapestry woven with beautiful silver and golden threads! The beginning thread is the love interest. Melanie is a skilled, human cop caught one night in a dangerous situation in a dark alley. Keith, a Wolf Alpha swoops in and rescues her. Their romantic journey together unfolds within loving family connections, tumultuous pack politics, even conflicts with the Silver Bringers, an organization of racist bigots set on a goal of genocide of the entire Wolf Shifter population. The passion is extremely hot, the pack conflicts interesting and intense, drama is breathtaking and several open confrontations between the shifters and their sworn enemies all weave a beautiful complex, pictorial design that keeps the reader enraptured and lost in a world of mystery, excitement and intrigue for hours! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Five Stars.

Too long. 52 chapters was too long. The story became so repetitive. I wanted to scream at times. I had to force my way to the end. A lot of the chapters were filled with repetitive descriptions of the family with no substance. And not necessary. The story is good. Lots of editing issues. With that said, it was a different take on the weres. I actually enjoyed the story. All the characters were well developed. As was the plot. I loved the strong female presence. I did not like Keith having to take a second mate. I did like him expressing that it would only be political because he is dedicated to Mel. The battle was exciting. I loved Edward. I thought it was interesting that there was no other contact with his dad. I expected an insight into his fathers agenda. To be honest, I thought with it being so long, we would get to see him interacting with his babies. I am glad it did not have a cliffhanger. I think it's worth a try. Enjoy!

Just okay

I respect what it takes to write a book; more so, as writing isn't one of my greatest skills. That being said, there are too many things I didn't like about Saved to give a higher rating.:
·The dialogue was stilted, almost Victorian.
·The conversations held through the Link were not distinguished from the other writing, causing confusion.
·I didn't care for the time lapses; it skipped over things that should have been explained.
·Punctuation and grammar, there weren't many mistakes but enough for me too notice

The plot was okay, though it dragged in some places. There was some humor, which I love. Most important, the women weren't weak characters waiting to be rescued. I love strong female leads, and I don't see them enough.

There are a few things I didn't like about the beginning of the book and a few points where it dragged on. The farther I got in it, the more I liked it. There was some insta love with the main character and Keith so I wasn't really a fan at first, but I grew to like them together. However, I fell in love with Keith's sister and the guy she gets with. They are the sweetest pair and I want a book with just them honestly. I wish this wasn't the end. It was really different, with lots of politics stuff. I can see how someone wouldn't like so much of it, but I thought it was interesting. Can't wait to move on to the second book in the Red Planet series.

Great read highly recommend

One of the best shifter books I have read. I enjoyed how all the characters interacted and how everything came together for Mel, Keith and Kim. The dynamics of how shifter society works which is more than you normally see in paranormal romance novels. With Kim and Edward I was not sure if this would work out as similar to arranged marriage or Keith taking Akiko as second mate even though for political purposes. But this came together at the end. Highly recommend to read

DNF 14%. It was too gushy, INSTALOVE and just .....NO.
I think this is the first time I've recorded a DNF, this is not the worst book I've attempted to read, I've just decided life is too short :(
If you like instant love and sister like friendship that develops overnight with gushy affection all round this could be the book for you - I mean that genuinely. It's just not for me. To be fair I know I haven't really given this book a chance (which is why I haven't rated it), but I found I just didn't want to.

Long but good

Enjoyed that the Male & Female really loved each other, no misunderstanding that got between them even, when it could have been at a particular point involving another clan alpha female. Really liked the relationship with the twins, funny and close. It was a good story that didn't leave with any plot holes that I could detect at a first reading. So fully enjoyed it.

I don't normally read shifter novels, but I couldn't deny that this one spoke to me. This was not a quick read, but it pulls you in. It's a story with alot of dynamic, love, intrigue, wars being waged, alliances being built... It's brilliantly written.

If this is not on your read list, you are missing out.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Not for me

I couldn't get into it. It was drawn out with several different plots, and there was no depth to anything. It just wasn't for me. What is sad, I know I have read this before, but I cannot remember where. I assume it was in one of those book bundles, and I couldn't get intonit then either.

This book is so much more in depth about the shifter politics as well as the story of Mel, Keith, and Kim. You get romance, action, a look into the shifter community but most of all the loyalty and trust throughout this read. There isn't anymore I could say without spoilers but you do get slowly more drawn into it and it makes a great read.

Best paranormal romantic action drama EVER!! This novel was more than full length. The author didn't miss a beat! I was so caught up in all aspects of the story, and there wasn't any questions, scenarios unanswered. I've never felt so full of information reading any fiction paranormal book. You didn't give away the plots, or didn't leave out the suspense. I really really enjoyed this novel.

Saved by the Alpha

This book was awesome. I loved the adventures, depth of characters. The steamy love scenes, the sexy characters, racism, loyalty, intrigue, love, war, fantasy, this book about covered it all. I felt I was running alongside them in their action. I loved how it ended. Just awesome. I recommend this book.

I loved this Shifter tale. It was a steamy read, but also had some intriguing aspects. Keith saves Melanie and Mates with pretty quickly. Keith is the clan Alpha and his twin sister is the clan Female Alpha. This book delves into clan politics more so than I've ever read. Highly recommend!
