Now that the Daihasei Festival has ended, life returns to normal for the boy who knows nothing but misfortune, Touma Kamjiou. But in a stroke of unbelievably good luck, Kamijou manages to snag two tickets for a getaway overseas trip! He and the sister, Index, make their way to pearl of the Adriatic, Venezia, where maybe the two will even have romantic rendezvous and many heart throbbing events. But is everything really going Kamijou's way, or is there something more to this too-good-to-be-true adventure...
Kamachi Kazuma (鎌池和馬) is a Japanese-born light novel author and the original creator of the Toaru Majutsu no Index light novel series and Toaru Kagaku no Railgun, its spin-off manga series.
Bland. Flat humor, odd flow, the beginning is too long (20% of the novel). They seem to be releasing these translations four a year. At this rate it will be close to a decade before it's all done... Maybe it's better to just read online summaries. Now that it seems they're finally facing the last enemy, I just want to know how the story goes.
At the rate Touma is going with everything, I'm surprised he thought going to Italy would turn out to be good lol. Anyway, as usual, Index is a frustrating one to deal with and I'm always surprised at the patience Touma has with her, especially when she essentially left him in a foreign country by himself when she said she'd take care of the language barriers for him lol. No one should ever rely on Index lol. I think it's saddening though, since I think that really impacts my opinion on her even when she can be really useful. I thought it was nice to have a reintroduction of Orsola and Agnese as a sort of aftermath event to see their situations now. The ice ship and stuff felt like it would be interesting, but honestly, it kinda just goes along with the normal To Aru formula of Touma saving someone in need, of which the person this time around is Agnese, who has been redeemed of her previous actions because she is also someone that is willing to sacrifice herself for her comrades. But otherwise, different location, same kinda story.

This was dragged out. The magic itself was pretty cool, but definitely this volume was dragged out, especially for a volume that isn't too important for the overall plot.
