Kyuta has been spending more and more time back in the human world. He's about to take an exam that will let him go to college! But does this mean saying goodbye to his master and his life in Jutengai forever? Can he be a part of both worlds, or will he have to choose...?
The stuff in the arena was so much better in the movie version. The humor that came from Grandmaster's antics is kind of muted because the timing just can't be the same as the movie. The battle, too, was so much better.
Everything outside of the arena is about the same as in the movie.
All-in-all, again, you might as well just watch the movie.
I also want to mention that apparently only the first three volumes are available in English, so you can't even get the ending. After a long gap, it looks like volume 4 is now available in English. Not sure what caused the delay, but it's available now.
Kyuta's reconnection with the human world creates a tear in his relationship with Kumatetsu. Is he Kyuta or is he Ren? Only he can answer that but discovering who you are is a painful process and he must face the darkness in his heart. As do all humans. (Because apparently the animals don't have this problem)
Meanwhile, the time has come to decide once and for all if Kumatetsu or Iozen will be the next Grand Master.
This is a great book, you would love to read the book if you concentrated hard about what happens. This is the best book i have ever read. IT IS GREAT!
I passed this book along to a teenager that I know enjoys the manga genre. Immediately he was engrossed in the story. He thought the illustrations were great and described the action as 'awesome'. It certainly seemed to meet his expectations and had him looking forward to the next book in the series. I won a copy of this book in a Goodreads giveaway for an honest review.
