The unbelievably attractive Akane Yanagi takes the stage...and maybe the lead from Miyamura?! And the high school lives of the usual suspects from Kiri High grow even livelier, as Hori abruptly starts demanding violence from Miyamura, the student council trio gets unusually flustered, and the sports festival arrives!
Dislike: What is up with Hori wanting Miyamura to yell at her and slap her? Her character is becoming really odd and unsympathetic.
Like: the continued development of side characters, especially the type A student council girl Sakura and her crush. Her semi-patient attempts to teach her two friends to cook were sweet.
My favorite scene was the boys at the fast food place trying to diagram from one another the various relationships and crushes of their friends group. Yanagi was there but he's too short-sighted to notice.
Also, a cameo by the guys Hori beat up in the previous volume, still trembling in hear of her.
So Hori is into Miyamura being violent and mean to her, which to me reads as her being into BDSM. It's treated about as well as you'd expect. The series is starting to lose some of its charm because of this, as now that the two leads are together, the story doesn't seem to really know what to do with them. Their characters aren't as strong as they were in the first few volumes, either because they're not being focused on as much or because the writer is stuck with the "lol Hori is into being hit and yelled at and Miyamura isn't" gag.
I'll keep reading, but hopefully it finds some of that old charm again.
Hori's kinks have been revealed HAHAHAHAHA. Yanagi's a funny character. I hope they keep him xD THOSE HIGH SCHOOL BOYS HAVE BEEN TRAUMATIZED BY HORI. HAHAHAHA "TEAM RECYCLE" I'M DYING XD Sakura's household specs are high xD And we also get to see a rare jealous Miyamura! ♥
You know what? I won't hold it against Hori. She's been a straightforward character since the beginning and that's what I loved about her.
But what I love about this volume tho? ☑ How the guys get along well! Augh, I told you that's my fave theme of all time; the freaking male friendship!! ☑ Miyamura's character development. It's heartwarming to see him finally growing his circle and he's not afraid to come out of the box he shut himself into since he was young. ☑ The cover story (and the previous ones too!!) ☑ Miyamura's jealousy! I mean, yea boy, bring it on, it's human nature. Accept it! At least now, you realize that you deserve Hori! And you're not freaking toxic about it! That's growth mf. ☑ Miyamura is the freaking best boy. I HAVEN'T CHECKED YET WHO WON THE CRUNCHYROLL BEST BOY THO BUT I VOTED MIYAMURA SO HOPE HE'S THE WINNER
I forgot something. Hori thought Miyamura never gets jealous. I think she forgot about Sawada and Miyamura freaking out about it but not in the toxic kind of way okay. Or maybe she never viewed it as such. Anyway, they only looked like brothers and sisters bickering around.
How did such a fun series become such a drudge? There is no longer a forward storyline as we've become mired in a most dull status quo. I know some of these characters had personalities in earlier volumes, but based on these strips, I'm having real trouble remembering what they might have been.
This volume was better than the last but it’s lost some of its charm along the way which is a shame :( I think this is mainly because Hori-san demands Miyamura to be violent towards her which I really do not get! I don’t think it’s funny or cute (especially when she’s telling him to slap her) and she is insanely jealous of any girl who so much as looks at Miyamura which is ridiculous! But I am enjoying the exploration of Yuki, Tooru and Kouna’s characters - they are a great secondary cast and I’m falling head over heels in love with them <3
This volume had one of my favorite scenes of the whole series thus far, but the back half of it kind of dragged. In the first half we get some good character development with Yuki, the introduction of a new character, and the best scene with girls setting aside their differences and supporting each other. So wholesome and so good! The second half was mostly just silly one-off scenes that didn’t do much for me. So, three stars it is~~
This volume keeps up the fun (and it gets a bit dark).
This time Hori wants to be smacked around by her boyfriend. It's a bit weird, but not too crazy. I mean some people like to be smacked around during sex, makes it way better, but she likes when he just takes control and slaps her in public, so it's a bit weird. But it still works. The rest is light hearted and fun, with a really cute cooking moment with other characters.
Still enjoyable. I can't say this series BLOWS me away but it's always fun. A 4 out of 5.
This volume deserves five stars :). It was funny to finally see Miyamura getting jealous since he hardly ever does. I'm also happy that we got to see the student council more especially near the last couple of chapters haha.
I still really enjoy this cast of characters but not much happened in this volume. There were a couple laughs with Hori wanting Miyamura to lay on some abuse but the bulk of this just seemed to be going through the motions.

Hori isn’t insufferable (yet). But she’s frustrating sometimes to defend. I dunno if that’s the words I want to use but she’s abusive? And explosive? And short tempered? She just…idk (insert whatever the emotion is below annoyance maybe) Like im not annoyed by her but she makes me roll my eyes sometimes. I actually liked her for Miyamura but in this vol and the last she has shown her true colors.
And what is up with her wanting to be hit/talked down to? Like ur a teen, girly…relax.

I don't think I could love this series any more than I do.
There's still the ongoing drama between the triangle—Yuki, Tooru, and Kouno. Tooru is still rather oblivious, even though Miyamura has hinted. Kouno starts worrying about giving Tooru baked goods. Yuki, on the other, has ended up with her own admirer in the form of a super cute classmate. It looks like the new guy might be sticking around, and he's super sweet and clutzy; I'm a fan.
Then the school sports festival is coming up, and there are two main teams. It starts getting a little competitive, and everyone is working hard to do their best, even in sports they don't like.
Of course, I love all of the humorous moments amongst all of this. This series is hilarious. The sweet moments between Hori and Miyamura, though, get me just as good. There's a cute moment of jealousy between them. In a surprising development, we find out that Hori likes seeing Miyamura get angry, and she wants him to yell at her. This is funny from an outsider perspective, and Miyamura is trying to do it for her, because Hori loves it and begs for it. Miyamura feels bad and weird, though. It's also comedic given that Hori is significantly more scary than Miyamura is; he's also always been very careful around her. I really appreciate the casual introduction of a consensual kink, especially with a couple that hasn't gotten too intimate, and with no shame or worry involved.
I absolutely love this series, and cannot get enough.
Seven volumes into the series and this has been the only one so far that kinda missed the mark a little bit for me. I didn't really care for the whole plot about Hori wanting Miyamura to get angry- it felt out of place and a bit uncomfortable. The overall plot of this installment also seemed too all over the place: there was the cooking portion, the sports festival, the angry plot, etc- it felt erratic. On a more positive note, the characters and relationships are still developing really well, and of course the humor in this series is so good.
okay,, so hori has a weird fetish about miyamura being violent with her... honestly, i don't like it. probably because it looks real bad from an outside perspective, or bc i don't like seeing miyamura being mean and violent at all. i like yanagi! if yuki gave him a chance i wouldn't be opposed to this (even though i still like her with tooru), and yuki helping out sakura even though they are competing? just made me love yuki more :) also, WOW MIYAMURA GOT JELOUS! that's a first!
