Oh. My. Gods. #2.5

Goddess in Time

Rate this book
Some mistakes are worth defying the gods to fix.

Nicole Matios would rather be anywhere other than the tiny Greek island home to the Academy, an ultra-exclusive private school for the descendants of the gods. But she’s basically trapped there until graduation thanks to a foolish childhood prank. One that also got her parents banished from the entire mythological world.

When Nic discovers a book that unlocks the forbidden power of time travel, though, all bets are off. She finally has a chance to right her wrong and get back the life she was supposed to have.

With a little help—okay a lot of help—from her friends, especially Phoebe and Troy, Nic sets out on a quest that will take her from the lofty peak of Mt. Olympus to the chilly depths of Poseidon’s sea palace to the very heart of Hades. Will she be able to fix her mistakes without bringing all of Olympus crashing down around her?

Past and preset collide in unpredictable ways—especially when the gods are involved!

Tera Lynn Childs may pretend to be a goddess, but she’s really just a normal person. Well, maybe not normal. She is a writer, after all. Her works include the mythology-based Oh. My. Gods. series, the Forgive My Fins mermaid romance series, the kick-butt monster-hunting Sweet Venom trilogy, and the Darkly Fae fantasy series. Tera currently parks her laptop in the Seattle area and spends her time writing wherever she can find a comfy chair and a steady stream of caffeinated beverages. This was a fun addition to the series. I liked that it is the POV of a different character. The gods really seem to have a hand in everything even when their kids think they are being sneaky. I enjoyed the little twists thrown in. This book seemed to set up for another one so I am hoping the author follows through. I would love to read about Griffin's adventure.

I enjoyed this book as part of the Oh.My.Gods series. I wouldn't have been able to follow it if I hadn't read the other books.

With the way the book ended, I hope there's another book in this series. One more story to tie up the loose ends.

Okay, novella. A little rushed, but overall not bad. Link to full review which is part of a double feature (if you go the one on my blog, the Booklikes one is a review for this novella alone):

This story is a side plot of the Oh My Gods series that focuses on the life of one of the minor characters with a tragic story. The story itself is well executed. If I could I would rate it 3 1/2 stars.

The story: Nicole Matios' parents had been banned from the mythical pantheon due to a mistake made when she was 7 years old. In order to save her from punishment, her parents took the blame. Now she wants to go back in time to stop her younger self, but before she can do that, she must overcome several hurtles, not least of which that changing the past is forbidden.

Any problems with the story? The characterization of the goddess Persephone seems uneven. At times she seems like an idiot, love struck or fully mature and in change.

Any modesty issues? Nothing that I recall. No vulgar language that I recall.

I doubt I will read this book again unless I am reviewing the entire series.

i had a slight struggle going through the book in the beginning, but as that particular part finally ended, i started having fun again. with the speed that picked up after, i flew through the pages in no time. it was definitely an awesome read, with so much additional information & emotions unrevealed in the sequel.

I really enjoyed this short story. I love how Nicole found out who she was and got her parents back. I hope there is a short for Griffin. I want to read about his quest

Suitable for teenager to read. Plot was interesting but I expected there to be more serious consequences. Everything seemed to go too smoothly.

I really enjoyed this short story- not only does Nicole go on a cool adventure w/help from her friends, we find out her her godly ancestor really is :-) Though I didn't get the love interest part (wasn't there some alluding to this in a previous book but it didn't work out, maybe the timing wasn't right?) I'm still glad Nicole has a happy ending. I thought that Griffin's Hercules ancestry was a secret but apparently it was discussed by the group between the last book and this one. I also loved when the author mentions the monster's secret entrance mentioned in the Medusa trilogy- I get a kick out of it when authros connect their not so seperate books/ worlds. Can't wait to see more of this world and Griffin's adventure to come :-)

All fans of Tera Lynn Childs will love this novella from the world of the Oh. My. Gods. series. Through many twists and turns, the reader finally discovers Nicole's mysterious heritage, and will be shocked! I enjoyed the fact that ties from the Sweet Venom and Forgive My Fins series made cameos throughout the novella. I hope that there are more books on the way in this series, maybe a Griffin adventure. Overall 5/5 stars; I would recommend reading the first two books in the series, Oh. My. Gods. and Goddess Boot Camp, before diving into this story.

Another Nicole story. This time, it's a fairly decent-length novella about how Nicole goes back in time to change the consequences of a prank she played when she was 7. It's a prank prominently featured in book #1 and one that impacts Griffin as well. Along the way, we get glimpses of Olympus, Hades, and Poseidon's palace and Nicole discovers who her real ancestor is. There's also the beginning of a new romance for Nicole.

It's been so long since anything has come out in this series that I found myself confused in the beginning, not realizing right away that this novella was not about the main character Phoebe but her friend Nicole instead. I found myself not wanting to continue reading, wanting to put it down out of boredom but I pushed through. it was okay in the end but nothing spectacular as I felt no real connection to the characters.

I thought I had the descendant right. At the very end of this book I found out I was wrong. Still, I enjoyed it a lot. I hope there is another book in this series but I somehow doubt there will be which is sad. They are my favorite books by this author.

Yeah, we got to find out who Nicole's ancestor goddess is! That was pretty cool! And interesting and unique! Loved it! I kinda hope for another novella, because it can't be too simple now for Griffin to get his parents back!

This book is a novella related to the book Oh My Gods, but from Nicole's POV. She finds a book that tells her how she can go back in time, and she wants to do this so she can undo her mistake, which ended up with her parents being exiled. Yes, I recommend this book if you read Oh My Gods.

there is a part of the book that doesn't make sense. when the headmaster said that he knew she had the book but let her keep it. but in the last book he said put it back before he gets back and there will be no consequences.

AW THE ENDING WAS SO CUTE. I kept thinking about the way the gods were in Percy Jackson so I kinda confused my stories there...BUT THIS NOVELLA WAS SO FEEL-GOODY AT THE END THAT I LOVED IT despite the fact that I thought Nicole was being too hasty in the beginning.
