كتاب رائع يستعرض عبر تسلسل زمني تطور النظرية النسوية عبر مقالات ومواضيع متفرقة لكتاب مهتمين بالنسوية ، الى جانب كتب أخرى قرأتها عن النسوية وساهمت في تغيير نظرتي للقضية النسوية فإن هذا الكتاب يعتبر أساس مهم لكل من يريد فهم النسوية كقضية تستحق الدعم والوقوف الى جانبها .. سواء كنت رجلاً ام امرأة لابد أن تقرأ هذا الكتاب

I've taken gender and sexuality courses before and studied many feminist writers. Therefore, I was not particularly happy when I learned that I had to take another gender course in my post-grad studies. However, this book was surprisingly fun and easy to read. It is very long but since it is full of short essays, you don't really get lost. Some of them were very long and those are the ones that I got bored but I enjoyed it in general. More importantly, it helped me write my essays since it contains important information regarding women's movement. There are also a variety of women writers from a different race, origin, religion, and political views.

كتابٌ رائعٌ، يصلح كنقظة انطلاق من أراد أني يتعرف على النظرية النسوية منذ بداياتها مع نهاية القرن الثامن عشر وحتى عام 2005؛ فالكتاب ثريٌ بأفكاره، وسلس، ولا تكمن صعوبته إلى في صعوبة إدراك بعض الأفكار إما نتيجة قصور الترجمة، أو نتيجة بُعد تلك الأفكار عن واقعنا العربي والأفريقي .

اشعر اني انتمي ل هذا الكتاب اكثر من اي شي اخر ..اشعر ان علاقتي به اكثر من اسبوع اكثر من قارئه ..انه تاريخي معناتي واللغة التي يجب ان استخدمها بدأ من واقعي لنكمل نضالات النساء من قبل.. كل حق حصلت عليه النساء هو امر حتمي طالما هناك من يطالب ويعترض ويدافع ينتقد ويقترح الحلول ويصرخ بالرفض ضد اي تميز ان هذا الدور فقط للنساء العظيمات ..عكس مايحاول بعض الاشخاص ان يقنعوننا به يجب علينا كسعوديات ان يكون هذا الكتاب بمقالاته وتعدد مواضيعه ان يكون مثل كتاب مقدس لنا ثري ومتنوع في كل أطروحاته ..يمكننا الاستفاده من تجارب النسويات في كل مكان لكن مع ذلك اعتقد اننا متفردات في المعناه والالم نقبع نحن كسعوديات تحت اكثر من قيد ! ديني وعرفي اجتماعي قانوني اقتصادي نفسي لذلك وبنظره للمستقبل سيكون لنا نصيب من كتاب مشابه نسرد فيه تجربتنا بكل الاسماء اللي كانت سخيه بعمرها او الشجاعات التي لم نعرفهن بالأسماء بل المواقف.
اكثر كتب قرات منه اقتباسات .. كنت اتمنى لو استطيع ان اسخر صوتي كامل في القراءه لكن الامر مهما بدى بسيط هو شاق مع ذلك مستمتعه كنت

La bible en ce qui concerne les écrits de femmes féministes qui ont façonnés les théories des années 1700 jusqu'aux années 2000.
Essentialisme, post-structuralisme, queer theory, les limites du corps, la politique identitaire, les lesbiennes dans le féminisme, les trois vagues, les femmes de couleurs versus classe moyenne blanche, le marxisme-féminisme, tout ce que vous avez toujours voulu savoir sur l'expérience partagée (ou non) des femmes et des féministes sans jamais avior osé le demander!

While this is not really my favorite subject, I have to admit that I did enjoy this class quite a bit. I am not really what I would consider a feminist, though I do believe women should be free to choose their own lives, should not be dependent on a man for happiness, and should absolutely get equal pay for equal work. This class opened my eyes to some conditions in years past that were absolutely appalling, and allowed me to put into perspective the blessed live I have lived.

This is a MUST MUST MUST read for understanding of all of the most basic disciplines of feminism. All feminism is not created equal and all "Feminists" do not stand for the same thing. I think this reader gives you a taste of all of the most historical (conservative to radical) feminist ideologies. I took a course in college, we literally called "Feminist Bootcamp" and this was our Quran.

Course book for school.

Covers most of the important Feminists thinkers.

Super good, and gives you lots to think about. I think it should be mandatory in University.
