When Hunter Brannigan loses his father and is sent a map, he doesn’t know what to think. Is it a joke? Was the old man going senile at the end? The attorney sending the map assures him the piece of paper was definitely from his father and he must follow the clues to find himself.
Hunter has been running from anything even remotely resembling responsibility for a very long time. He’s a world renowned Photo Journalist, traveling the seven continents in pursuit of the next great shot. He’s been in the heart of the trauma during war time, natural disasters, and life-altering moments, always on the other side of the lens, never getting emotionally involved. His father’s last wish for him is to put himself within the pictures he’s famous for.
Deciding to humor his father’s last request, he stumbles upon Rebekah Kingsley III, an uptight History Professor who desperately needs to let her hair down. Though he has his doubts she can get dirty long enough to help him, something about her won’t let him walk so easily this time. Will she be enough to make him settle down, or will he leave her with nothing but a picture of what could have been

I LOVED this third book in the 7 Brides for 7 Brothers collaborative series! Each book stands alone with the common thread of 7 brothers dealing with the loss of their father and learning the last lessons he's left them as their legacy. This is Hunter's story and I just adored him. Hunter and Becka couldn't be more different. He's a wanderer. Going from place to place photographing the worlds most interesting things. Never putting down roots. Becka is serious with a detailed life plan. The fact that she's not as happy as she'd like to be doesn't deter her from the plan. One summer many years ago she had a wild romance with Hunter Brannigan. When he asks her to change her plan and come with him on his adventures she gets scared and runs back to her planned life. Now he's back and tempting her all over again.
The third book in the series, and another second chance story. In this book, Hunter, who is Gabe's twin brother, receives a treasure map as his inheritance from his father. He's not sure what to make of it, or the instruction to seek the assistance of a college history professor to solve the clues on the map. Hunter is shocked to discover that the history professor is none other than Bekka, the girl he'd had a summer romance with ten years earlier. Bekka had fallen hard for Hunter during that summer and had been heartbroken when he left without looking back. She moved on with her life, following her detailed one-, five-, and ten-year plans, and was not too happy to have Hunter burst back into her life.
Hunter and Bekka were interesting people. Hunter is just as much of an adrenaline junkie as his brother Luke, with no situation too dangerous for him to go into looking for the perfect photograph. He's constantly on the move, never getting too deeply involved with anyone or anything. Thanks to his father's withdrawal after his mom's death, Hunter doesn't trust anyone, except maybe his brothers. Bekka is very intelligent and had been raised by her mother not to trust emotions, encouraged to pursue academics. She had one brief summer of rebellion, where she allowed adventure into her life, falling in love with Hunter as they shared those adventures. But when he broke her heart, she locked adventure out of her life.
The development of the relationship between Hunter and Bekka was interesting. The attraction between them was still as strong as ever. Hunter was more than willing to give in to it and see what happened. He made no secret of that to Bekka, showing her at every chance how much he wanted her. Bekka was far more interested in protecting her heart. She knew it would be way too easy to fall for him again, and she wasn't sure she could survive another heartache. As they followed the various clues on the map, they couldn't help but grow closer. Hunter found himself more and more willing to put off his next photography jaunt if he could spend the time with Bekka. This made him both happy and scared to death. I liked how he could see under her buttoned up exterior to the girl he used to know, and how much he enjoyed bringing that girl back to the surface. I also liked the way he showed how much he cared, even though he wouldn't admit it to himself. The scenes following the snake bite were awesome at showing the depth of his caring. Bekka spent a fair amount of time fighting against the attraction she still felt for Hunter. She's afraid to trust that, if she gives in to him, he won't walk away and break her heart again. It was interesting to see her slowly loosen up and begin to enjoy life again, including giving in to the heat. But she also had trouble holding back the hope that this time it would be different. I ached for her when they came to the final clue, and what Hunter found sent him running again. I thought he deserved every bit of the misery he felt, and was thoroughly delighted by the advice he got from his brother. He redeemed himself quite nicely with his big moment at the end.
I loved seeing more of Luke and Lizzie, and Gabe and Josie in this book. It was great to see how they have both changed for the better since falling in love, without losing who they are. I also enjoyed seeing how the brothers have gotten closer since their father's death, and how they are there for each other. Their interactions are fun, especially when they get a little snarky.
Hunter much like his brothers receives a Legacy from their father who dies unexpectedly. His involves a treasure hunt and his father recommends a Professor to help him in his quest. Unbeknownst to Hunter, the Professor is the one woman he walked away from who affected him and now they are reunited to complete this mission😁
Becka isn’t sure why she’s going on this treasure hunt with the only man she ever loved, who broke her heart a decade earlier😭 But will this mission change Hunter and allow him to accept putting down roots isn’t as bad as he thinks, that he can have it all?
Hunter is Book 3 in the 7 Brides for 7 Brothers. A collaborative series from seven authors.
This is the only book in the series that I have read so far and I think it did fine a stand alone. Though, after reading this book I do want to read the rest of them.
Hunter Brannigan is a always looking for adventure through his photography. He comes back home after the death of his father. He is beyond aggravated with what his father has done. His father left him a treasure map to follow to get to his inheritance. The first clue is Rebekah Kingsley, a professor. These two couldn't be more different. Hunter has no plans to put down roots and Rebekah lives a very detailed planned life.
As they work together you find out these two have a history that Hunter thinks his father knew nothing about. Just shows father knows best. I think the two of them bring out the best in each other.
This is a wonderful written book about second chance at love and about a family's healing
After reading Gabe I was so curious about Luke and Hunter I decided I have to read all of the 7 brothers.
Hunter's story was good but I was hoping for something more specially since this is a Melody Anne book. It felt like this is a bit of a let down and now I'm not sure if I want to read the next one. The adventure portion was great but the romance was kinda predictable.
Book 3 - Treasure Hunt for Love ! This series just gets better and better!
I recently binge read the entire 7 Brides for 7 Brothers series while on vacation in Hawaii. To me the island of Kauai is one of the most romantic places in the world. So, what better place to read the collaborative romance series of some of my favorite romance authors! I know some of you might be thinking you could find other things to do then read when in Hawaii. But really between the river cruise, and sunset catamaran cruise, snorkeling and trekking through beautiful tropical gardens, there is plenty of time to eat breakfast on your patio, sit at the three tier pool at your resort or just soak up the sun on a not so crowed beach on the island. This romance series by Roxanne St. Clair, Joanne Ross, Christine Ridgeway, Melody Anne ,Ruth Cardello, Barbara Freethy and Lynne Raye Harris, is the perfect island vacation companion (second to my spouse of course!) I admit I might have skipped a few sunsets just to keep reading, much to my brother and sister-in-law’s dismay! After all this was supposed to be a romantic couple get away. Oh but no one writes melt your heart romance like these authors! I first encountered this series in one of the authors’ newsletters and was immediately intrigued and ordered the entire series right then. It is available on Kindle Unlimited and can be read with your subscription but as my Unlimited was full at the time, I purchased the whole set. Something I rarely do! However, I was anxious to have this set for my vacation. Two things attracted me to this series. First, 7 Brides for 7 Brothers has to be one of my all- time favorite musicals. My millennial uber-feminist daughter just can’t see the romance in being snowed in on a mountain with 7 men who pretty much kidnapped you in order to “trap” you into marriage! But having been snowed in with her very sexy mountain man father, I can see how love can blossom in some not so great circumstances. I couldn’t resist seeing how these authors handled 7 ultra-independent billionaire brothers finding their true loves in some less than perfect situations. The second factor that I found interesting was the idea of seven authors collaborating on one series. This is not an anthology of these romance writers novellas or short stories. This is a collaboration where these authors with different writing styles, characterization and romance genres (contemporary, suspense, chick lit etc.) agreed to a specific plot line , characters and how settings, personalities were all going to fit together. I have had personal experience with collaborating with other authors on a novel and the result was less than satisfactory. Of course, I was a young Honors English student and the collaboration was on a school assignment, so my income and career were not at stake. Still it requires a lot of time, interaction and communication between authors. In order to get the plot to be consistent, the interactions between different characters (the one you are responsible for and the others your fellow authors are writing about)to flow seamlessly and the timing between chapters correct can take months of meetings, conference calls, endless sleepless nights and a few strained friendships to get it right. These ladies not only did that flawlessly, they have gone on to collaborate again in 7 Brides for 7 soldiers. And if you can believe their newsletters, they still admire each other and are willing to continue to work together! My own experience with collaboration left me traumatized and afraid to write for years! The novels are complete with no cliffhangers and thus could be read as stand- alone. I think it is best if you read the series in order starting with book 1 Luke by Barbara Freethy and ending with Finn by JoAnn Ross. Each of the 7 Brannigan Brothers has his own personality, lifestyle and own brand of sexy manhood. Yet, they all share love for their siblings and a brokenness from an early family tragedy. As I said the flawless consistency in the interactions between the brothers from book to book as well as a smooth timeline that is adhered to by each author is amazing. There is more than enough steamy romance in each book without overwhelming the storyline. Each brother comes to terms with his roadblocks to love in a different way and a different setting from Yosemite to Italy. I can see how this allowed each writers’ special style to be showcased. The descriptions of the settings made the books come to life for me and made me feel like I was experiencing the scene with the characters. Being able to get lost in a book, leaving my own fears, problems and insecurities behind even for an hour or so a day was heavenly. That feeling of timelessness, escape from reality, is to me a mark of great romantic fiction. The authors of 7 Brides for 7 Brothers achieve that in this series! I highly recommend you read the whole series!
2.5 stars as Hunter is a selfish bore and Rebekah turns doormat. Hunter is immature and comes across as self absorbed in his attitude and behaviour. It is all about what he wants to do. Even though he is 33 years of age, he acts and talks like a sleaze with his innuendoes and pressuring Rebekah to his way of thinking and this makes him unlikeable. It felt like he was just waiting for the hunt to end so he could run off and do his own thing. He does eventually grow up but not till right at the very end and after he has run off again, so I ending up feeling that I didn’t care about him at all. Even his grand proposal was lame. Interrupting her at work like that was once again selfish and about him. Rebekah is a history professor so I was hoping she would not be a doormat. Unfortunately she loses all credibility pretty quickly. She does get a slight backbone later on but only because she can see he doesn’t want a future with her. The treasure hunt part was okay but overall I expected better from this author. I am not sure why the stories are not running concurrently after the fathers death, if he is dead. Starting to wonder about that. It would make more sense to be concurrent rather than months going by before another brother deals with his inheritance. Read through Kindle Unlimited.
Melody Anne – Hunter – (7 Brides for 7 Brothers – Book 3)
Hunter Brannigan’s Story
As usual, Ms. Anne installment of this series is fast, fun and ohhhh so SEXY and HOT HOT. The premise for the series is 7 sexy Brannigan brothers whose mother passed away when some of them were small. After her death, their father didn’t seem to be able to function as a father without his wife by his side. She was the love of his life and he buried himself in building his media empire and became an absent father with lots of nannies for his sons. And now, even the brothers didn’t get together very often.
They each received notification that their father died alone, his choice, with only his medical team caring for him. The real money portion of the billions would be distributed in 5 years, but he left each of them an inheritance “now”. As each son grieves a father that had faded from their lives years ago, they are taken on a journey that I believe their father hoped would detour each of them from making his mistake, becoming workaholic, and no one by their side to love and cherish.
Hunter doesn’t do responsibility. He is a world-famous Photo Journalist. He can be found in the war-torn nations, the latest disaster or at the top of a mountain. He has traveled the world and is sought after by many. Hunter being the adventurous one, his father gave him a treasure map, a poem, and a few items that steer him towards his inheritance. One of those items is Professor Rebekah Kingsley uptight History Professor. She has the history knowledge that is needed to find the treasure.
Both decided (in their heads) they were staying clear of the other, each knowing that they were opposites and both would go back to their own lives after this adventure. However, that did not stop the HOT STEAMY melt your panties lust they found they had for each other.
Can Rebecca let her hair down and enjoy this sexy man and this once in a life time journey? Can Hunter stop long enough and allow his feelings to just be, or will he stuff them down again and take off on his next Photo assignment?
Grab the rest of the series! Luke – Barbara Freethy Gabe – Ruth Cardello Hunter – Melody Anne Knox – Christie Ridgway Max – Lynn Raye Harris James – Roxanne St. Claire Finn – JoAnn Ross
Hunter by Melody Anne is the third book in a fun new series (7 Brides for 7 Brothers). The books are all written by different authors and all are contemporary romances about the seven brothers and their seven brides. Each can be read alone, but then again why would you?
Hunter is a photojournalist. He has been all over the world taking photos in places of not easily traveled to. He has continued to avoid spending time at home or in one place for years. With his father’s death, Hunter was left a treasure map without a lot of instructions, except to contact a certain professor to help him. When Hunter goes to find the professor, he realizes that it is an old flame of his from when he was a teenager. Rebekah Kingsley III, a history professor somehow holds part of the key of the treasure hunt. Both are not feeling comfortable but are moving forward. There are hikes and snakes and other challenges and along the way they discovered they were still drawn to each other. Maybe even in love!
This is the 3rd book in the 7 Brides for 7 Brothers series. Hunter is Gabe's twin but they couldn't be more different. He never stays anywhere very long. As a photojournalist, he's always somewhere exciting but doesn't have a home. His father left him a map and the name of a history professor to help him search for his "treasure". Rebekah Kingsley turns out to be the Becca he had a summer relationship with the summer before she went to college. I didn't like Hunter as much as the first two brothers. I think he was less willing at the beginning to accept the journey. He just wanted to complete the puzzle. He's was careless with Becca even though he knew he cared for her. There were definitely tears reading this one. I did enjoy the ending.
When Hunter Brannigan's father dies he leaves him a map. Hunter has no idea what this means but decides to follow the clues left from his father. Hunter is a world renowned Photo Journalist that has spent his life traveling all over the world without putting down roots anywhere
The person who he is sent to help him look for this treasure is Rebekah Kingsley III, an uptight History Professor. Turns out they knew each other ten years ago. Looking for this treasure together will rekindle those feelings they shared years ago. Will it be enough?
This is a second chance romance as they dated one summer in college Almost from page one I was irritated with both leads. Becka is supposedly a professor who pushed herself hard to achieve her career but as soon as Hunter returns she's a doormat. Hunter's wanderlust comes across as immature and selfish. I wasn't sure I wanted them to get together. Becka finally shows her inner strength and Hunter manages to grow up. As with the previous books, the chemistry between these two is off the charts with steamy sex scenes. I'll keep reading the series.
When he father died Collin left all of his sons a envelope with something he wanted only them to have. Some brothers got land and property, others got items of significance, but Hunter received a treasure map. Along with the map is the name of someone who could help him solve the puzzle - Rebekah - the same Beak he spent an time during the summer with when they were younger. Is this an actual map to a hidden treasure or a map to show Hunter what family and love are meant to be. Heartwarming and honest - loved these characters.
Another Brannigan brother bites the dust. Hunter is a dedicated photographer that travels everywhere including obscure or dangerous areas. Becka is an archeology professor that dreams of going on a dig, she wants some kind of adventure but is afraid. It has been ten years since Hunter and Becka were together, but the chemistry is still there. Wonderful second chance happily ever after story.
It's a lovely story but Hunter was too reluctant to the very end. While the lady was simply pining and waiting to be chosen. I would have loved Hunter to be more certain and persuasive. The narrative was a little too much like real life situations with women not feeling secure because the man is restless and uncertain, he could up and leave with no apologies.
Another good story in this series and another good read by Melody Anne. This is Hunter 's story and his quest to find the treasure his father left for him that journey is shared with Rebecka his teenage sweetheart. This journey is one of discovery for them both to bring them back to each other after 10years apart. Their father knew his sons better than they know themselves and sets each of them on their individual journey.
The dead father in this series is quite the piece of work. I'm starting to wonder if he's going to turn up alive at the end of the whole thing? Anyway, I'd call this one another solid, standard read. Nothing that really captures the imagination or burns itself into your memory, but good to kill a couple of hours.
Hunter has been all about adventure. He is always looking for the next photo shoot. Rebekah is a history professor. She has been on the academic rollercoaster for so long. In walks Hunter to take her on a treasure hunt. Will they be able to find what they are looking for? I loved the ending. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
Hunter is a free spirit who lives for adventure behind his camera. Settling down is not on his list for this lifetime until his deceased father sends him on a treasure hunt with his long lost love. Will Hunter find his HEA or will he allow Becca to walk out of his life again?
I love this series and the authors who have contributed to it. This story is about family and the journey they go on to find what is really important for their lives. They each find love along the way and realize that that is what is really important.
This is a new author to me and I’m enjoying this series. I was hoping for less sex and more true feelings and romance between Hunter and Becka. We find out what Hunter’s inheritance is, but not if their was any true significance in the actual gift other than its location.
I loved this book and how it intertwines with the other stories in this series. Hunter is going on a treasure hunt. Turns out the professor he’s supposed to be working with is his Becka from 10 years ago. Can she resist him? He was her first love. Did have some tears for them at one point. Loved their happy ever after. I highly recommend this book.
True love lost can always be found and given a second chance. Hunter and Rebekah story was soft, hardcore yet had the time breathtaking flow to it that carried you along while you journeyed with them.
Melody is a Great Writer and Storyteller! I’ve read most of her books and every one of them are Amazing! This book was a great continuance in this series and she kept me reading non-stop from beginning to end.
Melody Anne didn't disappoint! A sweet love story about second chances, learning things we never knew (or maybe knew but never wanted to acknowledge), and living a life full of adventures! Can't wait to continue the series and see what's next for these brothers.
I enjoyed the adventure and the way this one played out! I was finding myself wanting the adventure to last longer and more depth to the adventure but I’ll take it! Lol!
Another wonderful second chance story with the added bonus of a treasure hunt! Hunter (the globetrotting photographer) gets sent on a treasure hunt with the girl her left behind 10 years ago. Becka, the history professor, learns that Hunter never left her heart.
