To appreciate more fully the significance of Ezekiel's writings, consider the man. A well educated priest, his prophecies are documented to the day and month in chronological order. It is reasonable that God would pick an individual given to such exact detail to record the awesome visions of judgment. It is impossible for our finite minds to grasp the splendor portrayed in these prophecies. They reveal that Israel will be restored and the temple rebuilt exactly to God's specifications and according to His plan. All the power of the world will not alter this scriptural fact.

Henry Allen "Harry" Ironside (October 14, 1876-January 15, 1951) was a Canadian-American Bible teacher, preacher, theologian, pastor, and author.

Ironside was one of the most prolific Christian writers of the 20th Century and published more than eighty books and pamphlets, many of which are still in print. As an editorial reviewer wrote of a 2005 republication, "Ironside's commentaries are a standard and have stood the test of time."

Not exactly light reading, but I love Ironside.

Though I have barely got into this volume [5 of 48 chapters] I have already been blessed by the comments Ironside has made about being a servant of God. God knows our pasts, saves us by His grace and then even calls us to His service... unworthy as we are. Inadequate as we here God enables His servants to serve Him. Ah, Lord God, how great Thou art!
One of the more difficult books of the Bible, imo, is the book of Ezekiel. Ironside opens the door and helps the student of the Bible to understand this important book. The age of this book does not affect its power - it is timelessness. Highly recommended.
