About the author

Melissa grew up in Maryland by the Chesapeake Bay, where her favorite memories took place near the water. Not having the physical coordination for most sports and the tendency to trip over air, she gravitated to books. She was never seen without a book. With her imagination running wild, she began to write her own stories at the age of nine, with her first book about a pet-loving family and the adventures they had. As time passed and Melissa grew up, reading and writing always stayed with her, becoming her escape from everyday life.

Melissa now lives near Washington, D.C. with her family, dog and a lot of fish. In between the chaos of laundry, chasing after her three children and trying to learn how to cook, Melissa finds her escape by feeding her addiction of reading and writing of love, suspense and sarcastic humor.

This series is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! it is a must read! It's better to start with the first book and then follow with the rest. It may take a minute to get into it but once you do, I'm sure you won't want to put it down.

Kate Parker is an FBI agent on a mission. Well, she thought she was on a mission trying to bring down the Cruz Cartel until she was pulled from her job in Miami and transferred to Baltimore. She leaves Miami without saying anything to her "casual fling" Noah and has put everything behind her as she focuses on trying to bring down the Cartel.


Noah Russo is not willing to let go of Kate very easily and when he is back home in Baltimore he finds out that the circles that he is involved in are the same ones that Kate belongs to as well. Will Kate be able to move on from the past and give him a real shot at a future together?


When it is clear that both Noah and Kate have some secrets will they be able to keep them hidden and when they come out will it alter any chance that they may have had? When lives become intertwined will they make the right choice?


This was the first book that I have read by this author and although the book can be read as a stand alone I would have loved to read the first two as I think they would be great and just give us a little more insight into the characters and what has happened in the past.


Kate Parker is frustrated with what has happened with her job and she still working on discovering the truth when Noah comes back in her life. She isn't wanting to get close to anyone but Noah keeps chipping away at her heart. I understand why she wants to keep him at a distance with the dangers of her job but it's almost as though she is punishing herself due to things in her past.


Noah wants to fight for Kate but he is keeping secrets that jeopardize everything. I was really cheering for Noah to win her over until the secrets starting to be revealed and although I began to understand why I was still frustrated at what he kept hidden from her.


There's definitely a lot going on here and I think there will definitely be more to come since there is a lot still not dealt with! I am definitely looking forward to going back and reading the first two books!

This is book 3 in The Broken Road Series
HOLY MOLY OMG !!!!
This book is fabulous .... I've waited a long time for Kate's story and finally, FINALLY I got what I was waiting for and then some .... I am not at all a fan of females in any books .... and Kate had her moments I wanted to kick her butt, but on the whole, she was a tough as nails chick who was afraid to trust the HAF Noah ... and she grew on me ....
Noah ... *fans self* I am in love with him .... TOTALLY ... ALPHA ... sexy, sweet, tough and makes you lose your panties .... WOW !! I cant even tell you how much I fell for this man!!
And yes, the slut that I am kinda likes Cole too .... so shoot me !!!
I adore the banter between Kate and Cole and the bimbo brigade.
The characters are very well written and mesh well together. The story line is fantastic and keeps you glued to your kindle ... there is no way to put this book down ...
I love that you get to check in a little on Shane and Megan as well !!
This book was a long time coming, and very much worth the wait
I highly recommend this book and you will of course need to read book 1 and 2 to get the full effect of this fantabulous series !!

Broken Rules

I really liked Broken Rules. All characters have great development and they were easy to relate to.
Spoiler alert possible...
My only hold back from five stars was that I felt the ending was rushed and left many unanswered questions. Will there be a 4th book to know what happens to the cartel? Is everyone truly safe if the cartel is still out there?
