We all stand waiting, breath hitched in our throat
For a bomb in a subway, a plane, or a boat.
What’s coming next? Who will die? Can it stop?
Living in fear for the next shoe to drop.
If terrorists come or the world starts to flood,
We can rest easy. We were bought with His blood.
All we must do is ask for God’s grace,
For Him to come in and take His rightful place
As the Lord of our lives and the King of our hearts,
And that very instant His covering starts.
He’ll go before us and stop hell in its tracks.
His hands will protect us from Satan’s attacks.
You might think I’m crazy and that this isn’t true,
But with the way the world is, what have you to lose?
In Fierce Hope Savanna Hartman describes a world that has never been more broken and lost than it is today. People are hurting and want something authentic and real to hold on to. Savanna makes a compelling case that true hope can be found only in Christ. Fierce hope, despite the chaos that is all around you, is within your reach right now.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy of Fierce Hope through the publisher and Netgalley:
Fierce Hope shows us where we can find hope in a broken world.
The Author points out that hope can only be found in Christ. We can spend a lifetime looking for Hope in the things, or people in this world, but unless we have Christ, we don't have true Hope.
We are reminds us that Fierce Hope in God empowers us to stand, even when we feel as if we are standing alone.
The author points out that even in this day and age prejudices are will and are not of God.
Hartman points out that even Genocide begins with a single thought.
This is going to be a hard review for me to write. I don’t want to put another person down, you see. I feel that Christians hurting other Christians over their beliefs is just stupid. I want to be charitable, and I want to take a high road. As you can surmise, I didn’t find much to like about Savanna Hartman’s Fierce Hope. But I want to try and not knock the writer, but the writing. Why? I don’t want to become personal in my criticism, but focus on what’s on the page. On that front, in places, it’s just bad. It’s bad writing. And some of the book’s theology, in my mind, is a bit suspect. But I don’t want to put down Ms. Hartman. I think she’s young — from the book, from what I can recall, she was born sometime in either the late ’80s or early ’90s. Plus, her religious beliefs are far more evangelical that mine. That’s not a bad thing — so long as you’re not hurting people, and I don’t think that’s on Ms. Hartman’s radar. Maybe it’s a combination of her youthful inexperience and faith background, or maybe this just wasn’t a book for me. Thus, I write on tippy toes. If I say something that’s personally offensive against the author, let me know. It would be an unfortunate and inadvertent error.
I tried to like Fierce Hope. It has good reason to exist. It’s about war, terrorism, natural disasters, genocide — all of those things (and more) and how we can find hope in God through them. The subject matter is appropriate. And Hartman has done her research, based on the anecdotes sprinkled throughout the book. She’s talked to people and read books. However, a book such as this requires depth of thought out of all of that research. And there’s a problem. Hartman acknowledges in the final chapter that Fierce Hope only took weeks to write. There are references to the Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting of this past summer as well as the truck massacre in France that occurred just months ago. While this definitely gives the book a sense of currency, it’s also a rush job. For the seriousness of the topic matter, topicality is less of a concern than depth. And I just didn’t think the book was particularly deep or insightful in most places. In fact, the best part of the book is a all too short piece where she talks to a former solider who actually experienced war, and gives us a bit of a first-hand account of what that experience might be like.
First off, I followed Savanna on social media prior to ever knowing she planned to author a book. Her live videos on social media already had me excited for the book because I knew it would be candid, real and spirit-filled.
Savanna discusses God's unchanging love for us and how we all need to exhibit that love here on Earth as he commands no matter what. Although we are in challenging times, God is in control and we are under his continuous grace. If you are looking for an uplifting book to help ease your uncertainty, or simply re-establish your faith, hope and trust in his unchanging ways you should definitely read Fierce Hope.
I pre-ordered Savanna's book after hearing her spoken word on racism and following her on FB. After coming to understand a little about Savanna, her upbringing in the south, her very young age, and how quickly she wrote this book, it's obvious to me that God is working through her. Her book is real, gut-wrenching, yet inspiring and hopeful. I plan to visit the church that she leads with her husband in Tampa, FL in the near future.
Everyone should read this book, in a time, in a world where we are hurting so much, this book will show you how to find hope again. Savanna finds a way to communicate with her audience in such a loving and real way. I have read this book twice and each time have gotten a different msg from it each full of hope and love. Beautifully written, heart felt and genuine. I could not put it down, excellent read.
I pre-ordered Savanna's book after following her for a while on FB. I love hearing her spoken word, she's raw, real, and doesn't sugarcoat anything. She is truly talented and it's obvious that God is working through her. Her book speaks so much truth, its real, gut-wrenching, yet incredibly inspiring and hopeful. My family and I hope to visit the church that she leads with her husband on our next trip to Florida. I highly recommend reading this book and sharing it with others.
During this scary time, where there is so much chaos and hurt in our world. This book will show you that hope is alive. And that it is through that Fierce Hope, we can all get to where we are supposed to be. Always remember, as this book exclaims, our past does not define us and everybody is worth God's grace.
I loved her views of the very sensitive subjects, and how she gives us hope at the end of each chapter. I have given this book to my friends and family and they loved it as well! I couldn't recommend this book enough! And just so you know, my faith got renewed by reading this book! Pick it up and give it a try!
