A short and easy-to-digest guide on type design. Although not as fleshed out as Karen Cheng’s Designing Type, this pocket guide is packed with useful tips for anyone new to type design.
The colour palette used throughout the book can be obnoxious at times, specifically I’m talking about an electric bright orange that sears the eyeballs out of your skull every time you see it. Furthermore, the typesetter decided to use this florescent hue as the background colour paired up with a light weight white serif—which can barely be read. At other times the palette is too dark, with dark blues used over heavy blacks.
