This is an interesting collection of Fairytales. It is sanitized in some ways and also retains some of the darker elements in other ways. The illustrations are ok. The art design borrows heavily from the Disney films where film adaptations exist. It is a solid introduction to the Fairytales, but I'd honestly just find the originals first.

4 STARS. Fairytale retellings are definitely one of my FAVORITE genres, so reading this was fun. It’s always cool to see what the actual fairytales said in comparison to what we hear about them. It’s also interesting to see what parts people choose to take from these stories as-old-as-time.

P.S The illustrations in this version were AWESOME!
