Vanessa, her mum and daughter are escaping from Refuge. But is a trip to the past, and to people and places from the past, really such a great idea? Written by Gerry Huntman, illustration by Will Jacques. Proceeds to Sanctuary Australia Foundation.
Gerry is a father, husband, full-time writer, and publisher. This makes him a pretty good juggler as well. He is author of GUARDIAN OF THE SKY REALMS, a juvenile/middle-grade fantasy novel, just published by Meerkat Press.
Gerry was one of those young people who didn't know what he wanted to be when he grew up, so he tried all sorts of things, at university, as well as vocationally. In the end he settled for two undergraduate degrees and a masters degree, mostly in computer science and IT.
Throughout all this time he really, really did want to be a writer, but was lazy and confused and instead immersed himself in roleplaying - not just the Friday night activity, but designing and convention going/organizing etc. For well over thirty years...
More than 10 years ago Gerry decided that hey, why not do something totally offbeat and actually do what he always wanted to do - write.
Gerry loves writing in many of the genres and subgenres resident under speculative fiction - horror, fantasy and scifi. He has already sold over 50 short stories in magazines and anthologies, now he is working on his second novel, Champion of the Sky Realms, which will be released in 2021.
He is working on several other novels, mostly in the fantasy and scifi space.
He is also owner of IFWG Publishing, working hard to help other new authors get published.
He lives in Melbourne, Australia, with his wife and young daughter.
