Cake Love #2

The Attraction File

Rate this book
She's Cold. He's Hot. When they get together they burn.

Evaleen Bechmann is too busy running Human Resources for the billion dollar company, Mimir, to even consider dating. As for emotions, she refuses to discuss that too. It doesn't matter anyway. She's invisible to men, especially one man in particular. Evaleen is fine with that. Not everyone gets their happily ever after, that’s only for novels.

Edgar Mirmir is a Nordic god to some, a tech-savvy genius to others, and to women – he is everything they desire. His life should be perfect, and everything he has ever dreamed of… only it’s not. One woman haunts him. When he first saw her, her electric blue eyes shone with defiance, fear, and sorrow. He wanted to reach out to her, but she disappeared. Until one day he turned around and there she was.

The Attraction File continues the Cake Love series inspired by the popular character blog “Payne in the Blog” in a stand-alone book. If you like sassy heroines, playboy heroes, and office romances that make Bob in accounting blush, you will love Elizabeth Lynx’s idea of how stubborn love can be.

When Cold meets hot, it melts!

This is a standalone about Edgar and Evaleen, that is also a part of the Cake Love series. As I said before, I started this series backwards. The first book I read was actually the last one in this series (The Spy Ring), and it got me hooked. And since that book I was curious about Edgar and Evaleen!

Then, when I read Rules of Payne, I got even more intrigued. but when I started to read it, it was even better than what I was expecting!

Edgar and Evaleen and polar opposite! She is serious, he is a player. She doesn't accept nonsense, he is laid-back. She is strict and hardly let people close, he is charming and flirting.

And even with all those differences, they are the perfect match.

They've been slow burning their feelings for a loooong time, without the other knowing, but everytime they get closer, they also get scared, and for so many different reasons.

Even though he is so relaxed, he actually hides deep feelings inside, and little by little, Evaleen begins to be the only one who can read him right.

For her, it was even harder. After bad things happening to her in the past, and after that past turbulating her life for so long, she gets to a point that very few people could understand.

"I hated what I had become. What I allowed all those men to turn me into. I could have been the sexy one. I could have been the fun one or the seet one or even the pretty one, but I'm the jaded one. The bitter woman no one wants to be best friends with, and no man wants to date."

And one of the sweetest things about this book, and one the things that made me love it so much, was that Edgar could really understand her. Not in a condescendent way. He got her. And when he couldn't understand, he was patient enough to let her shine and show in her own way and speed.

"You are the sexy one, Evaleen. You're the beautiful one, and the smart one. And no, you aren't the sweet one, but I love your spicy flavor."

It's mesmerizing for me how much I could relate to her. And I love when I get a character that deeply. It's like the booking is acuatlly talking to me.

She was this incredible woman, so strong, fierce and hard worker, people respected her and never could have thought abouth her secrets. But at the same time, she was vulnerable, insecure, resentful of life for so many things that got out of her control. And believe me, people might say she could have done differently, but I totally disagree. Her mind, her feelings, her fears and insecurities wouldn't let her do it any other way. And that doesn't make her weak.

The very opposite, it made her human, real. It made her the fighter she is on a daily basis, but that just can't handle some things, because she has the weight of the world on her back for so many other things.

She was incredible.

"You're everything I want and nothing I deserve, Evaleen. I know that. So, if you want to leave, I understand. But if you stay, I can't promise I won't beg for more than a kiss. I may beg for eveything if you let me."

Edgar, in his own player, funny, sexy way, he was just as real and vulnerable. He struggled with so many things and hid them so well, that no one would wonder he had demons and insecurities.

And one of the things he learned to be his saving grace, his anchor for support and understanding was exactly what Evaleen so relutanctly and fearfully was giving him.

"As my lips found hers it felt like coming home. I was lost in seconds because everything about her felt good. No, that wasn't it. It felt electric. Addictive. That there was nothing better than being in her arms."

They grew closer, they became friends, they were each other's support, they understood one another better than anyone else!

"I'll be your best friend, Evaleen."

That, right there, that sentence. It carried so much!
Anyone who read it might think he was putting her on the friend zone. But no. So Totally No. He was giving her everything in that moment. he was being the friend she never had.
Yes, she was growing closer and closer to Morgana, Aria and Tiffany. But he was standing his hand and giving more!
He was giving everything.

He was giving her a chance to be weak whe she needed. He was giving a shoulder to cry on, a hand to hold when she feels afraid, someone to understand her and support her, and someone to support her even when there was no understanding.

He was giving her his vulnerability, his loyalty, his understanding, his arms. He was giving her his heart.

"When you realize your heart has been captured, held hostage, you would race until your feet fell off to be with the person who held it. Not to ask for it back, but just to smile knowing your heart was where it belonged."

And she gave him hers right back!

Hey Goodread Readers!
I wanted to give everyone a sneak peek at The Attraction File. So, here is an excerpt from Evaleen & Edgar's story -

“It’s ten forty-five, almost time for the Brooks Bomb. I told Payne on Friday that this would be your first day back but he had meetings out of the office all morning.” I said.
I turned to head back to my office but stopped as Morgana yelled out for me. “Maybe I’ll take an early lunch. You up for it?”
I was about to tell her no, that I had some work that needed to get done when the elevator doors opened and out walked the last person I wanted to see, ever, Edgar.
Then I would be forced to talk to him about the new hire for his department. Something easily done via email. Instead of face-to-face where I would have to try desperately to control my hormones. It was hard to not turn into a giggling mess with his deep voice acting like a Siren song. I always tried to be aloof, but I had a feeling he didn’t care anyway.
Before he saw me, I turned back toward Morgana and nodded my head. “Sounds great.”
“Okay, let’s go. Oh wait, is that Edgar? Hey, Edgar.”
I was surprised by how fast Morgana could move considering her height. She was like a red blur blazing past me and before I knew it, she had Edgar deep in conversation. His perfectly sculpted blond hair just brushed the tops of his ears as he ran his fingers through them.
He had long hair when I first started to work here, but last year he cut it. I appreciated both styles, but I missed his long hair. Something about it made me want to run my fingers through it, fist it in my fingers, and scream “mine” to anyone who passed.
I sounded barbaric. And sad. Mostly sad.
Holding my ground, I refused to move closer, not on principle because what was I arguing about? Lunch? No, I was hungry, but I lacked the strength to resist Edgar’s charm. Especially when he smiled and those dimples appeared.
Dimples of sin I called them. I wanted to lick them so much.
“Hey, Evaleen, Edgar is going to join us for lunch.” Morgana waved me over with happiness radiating out of her pores. I wish I could glow with happiness. The only time I glowed was after I had danced a few songs at a club. Also, my makeup usually melted by then, and my pit stains were large enough by that point that tadpoles had been known to form, even when I wore a tank top.
What I’m saying was I got swamp pits but, hey, I glowed.
Edgar’s dimples were on full debauchery mode. That was, until he saw me. I guess Morgana left that part out when she invited him to lunch. He probably would have declined the offer if he knew I would be there.
“Dreary Evaleen Bechmann? No, thank you,” he’d say. I was always surprised when he knew my name considering how unhappy he appeared around me.
It wasn’t just his dwindling smile but how his eyes gazed at anything but me. Like he was trying to find an escape from the worst thing ever, me.
“Great.”
It wasn’t great. It especially wasn’t wonderful when Morgana conveniently stood by the elevator buttons when we were moving down to the bottom floor, forcing Edgar and me to stand next to each other. I could smell his cologne.
His mouth watering, manly man scent.
I took deep breaths, not because I was about to hyperventilate (but that was an idea to get out of this lunch), but because I wanted to inhale all of him.
My mouth watered and I knew my neck was red without even glancing into the reflection of the metal elevator doors.
I turned my head to face the wall and tried to fill my lungs with non-sex god air, but it wasn’t working. Perhaps if I scooted toward the wall, inching farther away from him, I wouldn’t want to lick him so much?
Thankfully, I didn’t have to make that decision as the elevator dinged and opened on the ground floor. Cool, platonic air breezed around me and I began to feel human again.
That was until he placed his hand on the small of my back to guide me out of the elevator, causing my lady parts to spasm uncontrollably. I think they were having a seizure from too much hotness.
I coughed. Actually, I tried to suppress an eruption of humiliating giggles that would have embarrassed twelve-year-old girls, with a cough.
It worked. He dropped his hand and the lower half of my body went into a deep depression. The top half of my body felt relief tinged with bitterness.
The chill of the Chicago air solidified me. What if I’m not sexy or beautiful enough for him to notice like he did every other woman he came in contact with? He slept around anyway. Even if he did seduce me, I would just end up heartbroken anyway.
“Here we are. Chuck’s Sausage Shack. I am so thankful I can get a good sausage right next door anytime I want.” Morgana smiled as she held the door for us.
“I sure do love to suck on tubular meat during my breaks at work,” I said without hesitation.
That time I coughed for real. I hadn’t meant for that to come out of my mouth. It was there in my head and then my mouth decided it was the perfect time to give it a voice. I blame Morgana. Who says they are thankful to get good sausage? She was practically begging me to embarrass myself like that.
“Let’s hope,” Edgar said. My eyes narrowed at him but he had turned from me.
Cool as always. Nothing fazed him, not even a frumpy co-worker making blatant and not very good penis jokes.
He was just casually glancing around the place scoping out a table.
“Crap. Looks like I got to head back to work. I just got a text from Mr. Payne telling me he needs to meet with me since it’s my first day back. Sorry.” Morgana frowned, shoving her phone back into her purse and pushing out the door.
After watching the door close, I turned to Edgar. He was staring at me, grimacing.
“Look, if you have something to do we can just order food to go,” I said, trying to offer him a way out. It was obvious back at the office he was only agreeing to lunch because he thought it would be him and Morgana. I’m not blind. Morgana was gorgeous and sexy and exactly what a player like Edgar would be into. I think it’s a little shitty that he would go after someone his best friend, Payne, was obviously into, but that was none of my business.
Now we can order food for lunch since we are already here and then go our separate ways.
Edgar smirked. His dimples deepening as his gaze drifted languidly to my lips. “Now why would I miss out on the chance of watching you suck on some tubular meat?”
My lady parts were seizing again.

3.5 stars!

I was very interested in reading Edgar and Evaleen's story in the The Attraction File. It was a fantastic addition to the series as I really loved their chemistry and his devotion to her.

We first met Evaleen Bechmann as the upright and rigid woman running Human Resources for the billion dollar company, Mimir, in House of Payne. She had a reputation of being unfriendly, emotionless, cold and too busy to even consider dating. But she has always had a crush on the one man she feels invisible to - Edgar Mirmir, the brother of the founder of Mimir. He is known as a Nordic god to some, a tech-savvy genius to others, and to women – he is everything they desire. But one look at Evaleen years ago and he is lost!

I liked this story alot and found their chemistry to be fiery and the touch of mystery an added bonus to the story. But at times I felt very lost and somewhat disconnected from their romance and lost in the storyline. All in all, this was a nice read and a great addition to the series! 3.5 stars! ~Ratula

I have to be honest. I struggled to finish this one, and I hate saying that but it’s the truth. I just couldn’t get into the story; I felt no connection to it. I don’t know if it is that I don’t mesh well with the author or if it was just I wasn’t interested when I started it but whatever the case may be, The Attraction File Just sadly didn’t work for me.

This is the 2nd book in the Cake Love Series. In this story you have Evaleen and Edgar. They are also in the characters from the first book. There is also Morgana and Henrick in this book. But they are more side characters.
When you first meet Evaleen you think of her as a stuck up person. Edgar is one of the head honchos of the company. And is very easy on the eyes. Lol. In this book you learn more about Evaleen and start to understand her. Also you realize that even though Edgar can have any woman he wants he only has eyes for her. You have funny moments in this book along with some steamy parts.
I really enjoyed how this book played out and how you get characters from the past book. I would recommend this to some of my book friends.

I went into this book without having read the first one; which I think you don't really need to read the first one, but it does give the back story for a couple of the characters that appear in The Attraction File.

I was laughing from page 1! The humor that went along with the romance was spot on. The character development was perfect! I loved Edgar and Evaleen were so perfect together!!!

I would recommend this to my fellow book friends.

Elizabeth Lynx did it once again, she wrote another wonderful love story. It was a very emotional book I laughed, cried a little, and felt a bit helpless. I felt like I became part of the book throughout reading it.

I thought it was funny when Evaleen first met Edgar; he was the stranger at the coffee shop, that she practically molested. The same day she had her interview at Mimir with his brother Jacob. I loved how they fought their attraction for each other till they just can't anymore. They have such a strong love for each other; it was amazing to read about. The book was written in the POV of both Edgar Mimir and Evaleen Bechmann.

This is the second book of The Cake Love series. I look forward to reading more books by Elizabeth Lynx and hope there are more in this wonderful series.

I've been a fan of Evaleen Bechmann ever since Eliza beth Lynx released her first version of "Rules of Payne". I am partial to intelligent, snarky, vulnerable ball-susting heroines and Evaleen is that Heroine's Poster Girl. Her Hero Edgar is a scrumptious Beta Hero (another favorite). He allows Evaleen to set the pace for their relationship then he guides her as a partner. My big issue with "The Attraction File" is a Red Herring that might not be a Red Herring. There are no satisfactory explanations for this character's behaviors. Nor an explanation regarding the name of the titular 'Attraction File'. There are indeed plenty of surprises in the latest entry of the Cake Love series. It's chockfull of wit, romance, danger, and sex!
Edgar and Evaleen spend much of their time sending and receiving mixed messages. It's a slow-burn until they're on the same page. Evaleen incidentally has a couple of mind-blowing secrets she's holding onto; her closest friends don't believe them to be true. The Timeline of "The Attraction Files" runs parallel to, and a little past, the events of "Rules of Payne". My main issue circles back to a recurring character who Elizabeth Lynx spotlights. At the end of the book, this character really has nothing to do with anything. It's extremely frustrating that their suspicious behavior goes unexplained. Really, what was done to Henrik's phone? Also the titular 'Attraction File" seems to be a misnomer unless it's a business practice I'm unfamiliar with. If it's a real thing then it's my ignorance to blame. Other than that I eagerly await further adventures for Elizabeth Lynx's Cake Love crew!

Star Rating - ****

The second book in the Cake Love series The Attraction Files I was yet again drawn in by the blurb. A secret crush on the sexy guy that doesn't even know you exist is enough to have every girl picking up the book in commiseration, only to find out that he likes you to when things get a little more steamy at your next encounter.

This author writes a hot story it's a little disjointed in places but I think that's with the authors need to cram as much plot in there as she can wanting to give the reader a book that just keeps on giving, and whilst this can be a little Huh? when did that happen? how did I end up here? It didn't spoil the book. Overall the book was enjoyable it showcased 2 of my favourite characters from Rules of Payne I liked the shy yet strong character of Evaline with her secret writing career and Edgar the man whore who puts it out there because he doesn't feel he could win the heart of who he really desires.
Having read the previous book in the series and been left a little disappointed with my failure to connect with the authors writing I wondered how I would get on with the second book in the series. I needn't have worried I think the reason for the disconnect was just the lead characters in the previous book I just didn't feel the same connection with Henrik and Morgan's as I did with Eveline and Edgar. I couldn't put The attraction Files down once I started I needed to read more. 4 stars

Okay hear me out, i was completely lost for the first 50+ pages of this book. Then it got somewhat good, i was enjoying the read and then it lost me again.

I have read books with past and present povs but this book had me scratching my head mad.

My issues.

1.the book is very badly arranged, it has a fairly good plot, bold characters and story arc but its like a poorly arranged completed jigsaw.

2.FMC is a 30+ years old, bestselling romance author who works as HR manager in the company where her crush/hero/inspiration for her book MMC works. And she is a virgin. In the end we get a surprise pregnancy, its always beeen you trope , mutual pining, and she is the secret lovechild of a US senator.

What did i miss ... Ah he is a player, she is a prude
There is kidnapping, blackmailing, CIA investigation etc.See what i mean its all too much in a single book.

3.I know that this is the second book in a series, I think Paine and Morgana are the main characters of the first book, but so far in the second book these two are presented as ultimate laughingstocks.

I did not feel any desire to know their story. This one was a bust for me. Try it if you want to read all those tropes in a single book but I think I need something straight forward now.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

The Attraction File by Elizabeth Lynx is the second in the "Cake Love" series. This story is about Evaleen and Edgar who we met in the first book, Rules of Payne. The two books overlap a little bit, so you can see how they occur in the overall timeline of events. I loved this story. I didn't fall in love with them right away, after all Evaleen wasn't my favorite character in the first book. The character development was well done, and believable. You don't necessarily understand right away, and that makes you annoyed with Evaleen. Then once you begin to understand her background, you realize, she's not who you thought she was. Kind of like the realization that Edgar had about her as well. There were laugh out loud moments, and the sex was steamy. I loved the relationship between Evaleen and her mom, and I thought that was going to be weird at first. Overall it was a great read, and while reading the first book isn't necessary I would recommend it for the full effect.

This is my first read by the author and I chose the book purely based on the blurb. I'm a bit in two minds about the book. I liked the storyline, the mystery, the twists and turns. I loved the chemistry between Edgar and Evaleen. But I just felt like the story was a bit slow and it took me a while to get into. Normally I get absorbed in a book and with this book I just didn't feel the need to keep on reading to find out what is happening.
Don't get me wrong, this a good book, there's some hot love scenes and once you get to know Edgar and Evaleen a bit better, you will what them to get their HEA.
The story isn't just your average office romance, it is so much more. It deals with the difficulty of socialising when you are not a social butterfly, it deals with how people are happy to be seen in a less positive light, it deals with low self esteem in the bedroom. So for this, I commend the author.
All in all it was a good read, I recommend it.
I received an arc and volunteered a review.

I adored the first book in this series Rules of Payne. But I absolutely love The Attraction File. Evaleen has that sassy attitude. You will love her and the rest of the ladies in SWIM Meet. You wonder why she sees herself the way she does. Why she hides her other part of her. When you add in Edgar wowza. Edgar slowly breaks down the walls and its amazing to see her transformation. Edgar oh Edgar. He is swoon worthy material that's for sure. This is an amazing read. I really don't want to give away too much with this one because you just HAVE to read it. This one will make you laugh, will make your panties a little wet. This one will take you on a little bit of a suspenseful ride when the past comes back. I Elizabeth Lynx books. She just has a knack with her characters. I can't wait for more in this series. It's fun and sexy and just an amazing read.

I really enjoyed The Rules of Payne, the first book in this new series by Elizabeth Lynx but this one, The Attraction File is even better. I was such a great, sweetly sensual love story, in an emotion-filled tale. I laughed, cried, maybe even wanted to pull my hair a little bit at times.
Evaleen and Edgar are a great couple, their first meeting before her interview was so funny it made me laugh out loud. It was like being a fly on the wall watching the sexual tension brewing as they fought their attraction to one another. When they finally surrendered I’m sure I swooned as much as Evaleen did.
This was a fantastic, funny and sexy second addition to the Cake Love series and I look forward to the next.

You should read book 1 Rules of Payne before starting The Attraction File, this book does overlap slightly from the first but gives us a different POV.

Evaleen Bechmann is the Head of HR at Mirmir & Edgar is the head of IT. This is a true tale of opposites attract. I love how Edgar see past Evaleen's beauty and falls in love with all of her other qualities. Their chemistry is a back and forth that will give you whiplash but it is so worth it to get to the end. I loved how their past and present collide and they realize how intertwined their lives really are. Oh yeah and let's not forget that Edgar reads romance novels and the things he does too and for Evaleen are swoon-worthy. Love it!

This story took a turn that I didn't see coming....Grace needs her own book. I feel like her character is begging for her own book.

Romcom at its finest! The Cake Love series is hot, funny, sweet and just a bit nerdy which makes it an awesome read overall!

Evaleen is a busy bee and blends in to the background and she's perfectly good with that. She does her job and no one takes notice of her. Including her hot boss, CEO of the company she works for.

Edgar has a dream life: millionaire playboy who doesn't wont for money or companionship. Except for the one that got away. When suddenly, there she is!

I love the laughs in this book! You're reading and laughing because how can you not while reading it? Buckle up for some laughs while you read this one!

I had it in my mind that Evaleen's story could in no way be as fun as Morgana and Henrik book. But I found myself laughing out loud and truly enjoying this tale. Evaleen and Edgar steamed up my tablet. Great job.

This book was amazing... loved every word. This book had me hooked from start to finish. The romance was so good and sweet. It makes you laugh, maybe even cry a little and it has it moments where it leaves you guessing what is going to happen with Edgar and Evaleen. Take a chance and read this book and fall in love with the characters like I did. Very interesting and it's a must read.

The Attraction File by Elizabeth Lynx is the second book in the Cake Love Series. Every book can easily be read as a standalone, there are only few crossover.
This is Evaleen and Edgar´s story.
Evaleen is the head of human resources of Mimir, the Internet retailer. She´s a professionell woman and maintains the picture of a cold and calculted woman. But under her cols shell beats a hell of a hot heart. She had a crush on Edgar for a long time. Edgar is the founder´s brother and head of IT at Mimir.
They dance around each other. While I loved The Rules of Payne, Thae Attraction Files and I didn´t click somehow. I couldn´t get a good connection to Edgar. While Evaleen was great, he and I didn´t care for each other much. But the book is well written and I give 4 stars. Thank you, Elizabeth Lynx!

The Attraction File is the second book in the Cake Love series by Elizabeth Lynx. It is the story of Evaleen & Edgar. The two books in this series overlap slightly which only serves to clarify the order in which the events take place.

Evalen was never my favourite character in the first book but I was still curious to find out more about her & what makes her tick. In the beginning Evaleen made me wonder why she behaves the way she does & why she sees herself the way she does. The more I read the more I felt that I was beginning to feel like I was beginning to understand her.

Edgar! Holy Hell!!! What a man! Edgar knows what he wants but he's afraid to admit it, over time he begins to realise that he won't be happy until he admits to what he wants & does something about it. He decides that the time has come to man up & go after what he wants! What does Edgar want? Evaleen, of course!! But the walls Evaleen has built around her are huge. Can Edgar chip through her defenses & find his way to the girl inside?

You'll have to read it & see for yourself! I'm not saying anymore because I don't want to spoil it for you.

This book is fantastic! It is clear to see that Elizabeth has put in a lot of thought & feeling into this book. She has developed her plot & characters extremely well & with a great deal of realism. Elizabeth's writing style immediately grabbed hold of my attention & sucked me further into the world she has created with every page that I read. I loved the way that Edgar & Evaleen first met, I thought it was both funny & realistic.

The Attraction File is written from both Evaleen & Edgar's points of view, but it's always clear who's POV we are reading as it is stated at the beginning of each chapter. The swapping of the POV helps to make it clear how both of the characters are feeling as the events take place & it helps to make you feel as though you're friends with them too.

The Attraction File is packed full of emotion & humour. As the story progresses it made me laugh, cry & even felt a little bit sorry for Edgar & wanted to slap Evaleen a few times too. The emotion is clear to feel & the characters eventually claw their way into your heart, where I'm sure they'll stay!!

Overall I have loved this book & I think that Elizabeth has absolutely nailed it once more. I'm looking forward to seeing what Elizabeth comes up with next & if there will be more from any of the Cake Love characters.

If you haven't read the books in this series I would highly recommend them, especially if you’re looking for romance, suspense & some humour too.

Great work Elizabeth!!

When Evaleen was younger she fled her mothers house to get away from her mothers boyfriend. It just so happened that Edgar was waiting for Damien when he sees Evaleen climbing out of her window. Evaleen was the head of HR at Mimir Company where she was head over heels for Edgar Mimir. But he had no interest in her so she thought. Evaleen was waiting in line to get her coffee but the women in front was taking so long and she had a interview shortly. Evaleen tapped the women in front and when she turned around it was a he instead of a she. Years later she is still working at the Mimir Company and she has seen Edgar flirt and go through women like water. He came into her office to ask about one of their IT guys Ashton who had not been in work for two week and no one knew where he was. Evaleen like to write and her mother asked why all her male character has a name started with E and Scotland was always involved. Evaleen has been trying to stay clear of Edgar and he always stays away from her. Meanwhile she tries to get out of lunch they he tells her he will walk her back to work. They get caught in an elevator that as crowded they were face to face things get heated and when they almost kissed Henrik shows up to block him. CPD detectives show up in the office they wanted to speak to Evaleen and Edgar. They were going to do it separate but then Edger came to her office. The police started to ask them intimate question which made they both uneasy. Evaleen goes to Edgar’s office he wanted her to see what he found out. Edgar goes to Evaleen apartment where she lives with her mother. Evaleen was in for a big surprise when Damien was mentioned to her mom. Evaleen has been sick for the past couple of days. Her mother and her have been living at Edgar’s house so he could keep her safe. Evaleen finally told Edgar that she was pregnant and he blanched. She knew that he would freak and she knows that she needed to get out of the house. She avoided Edgar at work and also at home. Finally she told her mother why she was sick and they should look to another place to live. Evaleen gets kidnapped along with her mother they wind out in a warehouse. Will Edgar get to her in time?

Welcome to Cake Love part 2. This is Evaleen and Edgar's funny, hot & steamy story.
They'd met years before in a coffee shop when Evaleen was on her way to a job interview. Evaleen felt things she'd never felt before. This man, whom she'd mistake for a female, sent shock waves through her. Little did she know at that time, she'd be working at the same company with the gorgeous man she'd just referred to as 'Miss.'
Evaleen lives with her mom and has never experienced love. She's a romance writer who's hero's are all based on the same person, the object of her desire, Edgar Mimir. But her insecurities have her feeling like it will never be more than a one-sided infatuation. Certainly a man like him would never be interested in a woman like her. Or would he?
Edgar has a secret crush. She has no idea how he feels about her and he suspects she hates him.
When the two of them begin to find each other it's like mixing oil & water. Will they ever get on the same page?
This story is fantastic, steamy, and full of twists & turns. If you haven't one-clicked, do it. You won't regret it.
What an awesome read!

Are you ready to laugh, cry, swoon, and be completely captivated by another entertaining read from Elizabeth Lynx?

Good because she brings us another exciting adventure in the Cake Love series.

Edgar and Evaleen have a deep attraction right from the start, although they attempt to fight it. And when they stop fighting, it get's hot, hot, hot.

It gets a little rocky when the past comes back to haunt them, but it's how they work through it that makes this couple endearing.

Edgar is hero that will make your knees weak, ovaries explode, and panties melt.

There is more to Evaleen then first meets the eye, but once you get to know her you can really connect.

I really enjoyed getting both points of view in this engaging read. I read it from cover to cover in one sitting because I couldn't put it down. The Attraction File has a great mix of humor, romance, suspense, and pizzazz.

If you are looking for an office romance with a cocky hero, saucy heroine, and an off the chart love affair, then I recommend you pick up The Attraction File today.

Edgar and Evaleen's story was brilliant. Coming off Henrik and Morgana's crazy, zany and sexy escapades I wondered where we'd go. Not a moment was wasted or recycled, it was completely their story. I can't give away anything, but each characters backstory exposed you to how Evaleen became so guarded and what Edgar was essentially trying to...right? Forget? You have to read to understand these two, but man it's so rich and layered, not your average or typical RomCom. I LOVE Evaleen's strength and snark. Edgar damn that man is bloody awesome. If you read Lynx's first series Him Her THEM, then I think Edgar is up there with Pierce. He's so yummolicious. Whereas Henrik is a growly, crabby dirty dirty boy, (I love Henrik, the turkey) Edgar is surprising in his protectiveness. But man, the journey is fantastic, there were things I never saw coming. Loved it!

Well it took me good 12 minutes to put this book in a particular shelf .

I dont know what am I suppose to say about this book at some point I liked it and some at some point I felt I cannot connect with this particular book .I wont say my brains wifi did not get any network but it was as bad as trying to find it in a jungle.
With such a uptight heroine it made me feel its only good for those who would like to have a slice of real life with actual real life problems.

So in simple words those who love to read double meaning humor should read this book or you would end up in a jungle with very little wifi to connect with .And this book will end up in two shelf left it in between and dnf.

I was stoked the next book was about Evaleen as I knew there was so much more to her than her despise of Payne and frumpy outfits and boy was I right! Evaleen shares many a secret about herself in this book some will make you giggle while others make you sad and angry and the fact that Edgar has known her longer than she thought. This story is deeper than the first and shows you the real vulnerability Evaleen has as well as another side of Edgar that is not his flirty self but a guy he has deep feelings and has no idea how to articulate this nor deal with actually loving a woman.
