I have read and enjoyed several books in this series. I appreciate that each book is a standalone and can be read in any order, and I like the strong faith element in each book.
It is always so uplifting to read another book by Ms. Lehman. It is clear you don't have to have sex and violence to enjoy a book. So enjoyed this latest one. Read it all in one night. It rates the highest in my opinion. She makes each book easy to read and can be read by all without worry of having any thing be offensive. Bless you Ms. Lehman for having the talent to write these novels.
I liked this book but it had a very slow start. I almost gave up on it. I think I was 50 pages into the book before something substantial started to happen. I didn't understand the whole wood stove problem. We have a wood stove furnace that is on a thermostat and heats our whole house and we've never not been able to use it due to wind. We've had wind - it was so bad once that it blew over a 65 ft tall pine tree in our front yard! That was scary, but it didn't affect our choice of heat at all. I'm hoping after this ordeal, that the characters are at least smart enough to buy a generator. That just made me think of something: if they are way up in the mountain, wouldn't they have a well? How did they access water without electricity to run their well pump? That's one of the main reasons we have a generator, that and running the fridge and chest freezer. I'm thinking about the logistics way too much. Anyway, pretty good story.
This story just did not work for me. The plot felt contrived. The biblical reference felt forced. And the whole wide story about the mother was ridiculous and useless. The only reason I gay more than 1 star was because I was able to finish the book, although skimming was required. I am stunned to learn this author has published other books, it felt very....inexperienced.
Love the setting for this book....Asheville, NC. Injured in a car accident, Jennifer is snowbound due to an unexpected blizzard. She is without power and heat. Rick Jenkins goes to check on her and gets snowbound with her when a tree falls on his truck. When they are together, they talk. He finally gives her a bit of information that she is unaware of. Good book.
I enjoyed this story about the forgiveness that is ever available to each of us when we repent. The author combines this in a beautiful story of a man embittered because of his sister's death and a woman who could have died in an accident that he caused. I look forward to reading more by this author.
This is one of the best books I have read in a long time. This book shows you the power of prayer and how love plays an important part in ones life. This author will be one I will read more of
I definitely recommend this book. I enjoyed watching Jennifer and Rick navigate their relationship. This is the first I have read Yvonne Lehman, but it won't be my last.
This book was so very good and a wonderful Christian love story. Many times I wanted to cry, but the last chapter got me! I highly recommend this book to any Christian, but especially a young woman searching for the man God has chosen for her!
I enjoyed this book. It was so nice to read a love story without strong language and sexual content. The people were believable and the writing was so good that I could feel the cold and smell the snow.
Good, fast read. I was sick as a dog and couldn't do anything. This book kept my mind off my illness and entertained which is all I was asking. I would definitely read more by Yvonne Lehman.
Jennifer wakes up in a hospital room after an auto accident, while recovering from a broken arm & cracked ribs at home her mother goes away & there's a blizzard that cuts power to her mountainside home. Ever try to light a match with one hand?
