"You need to stop all this yoga crap and find your inner badass again." Old love. New Love. A love you wish would just die. A kinder, gentler Lilly? Small-town lawyer Lilly Atkins has calmed down. She's doing yoga, her hair is relatively tame, and she hasn't shot anyone in a while. But with bad boy Cash Stetson out of rehab, former FBI agent-turned-attorney Spencer Locke dogging her steps and a ghost from her past who just won't go away, her trigger finger is starting to feel itchy. When cattle rustlers hit a little too close to home, and she's forbidden to investigate, the only thing to do is get up off the yoga mat and grab her gun. Will Lilly stay zen? Or get her groove back?

Kindly received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

Definitely my favourite out of the three (for obvious reason). Finally after three books we see glimmer of hope for Spencer and Lily. I was getting so tired of waiting. Even though what we got wasn't enough I'm glad they finally cleared everything up and officially gonna try something.

Other than that as usual I loved the sweet banter in the book. Every single character is loveable (except maybe Val and Van, Duh). The pacing is great, plot a bit bland (I felt as if there wasn't anything to actually consider in the story) but the characters were a hoot. The posse hilarious as usual. What more can you ask of this?

This is such a fun series and it just keeps getting better. Lilly and her Posse are back and better than ever. Lilly, of course, seems to find trouble, even when she's told to stay away. She's got ALOT happening in in her love life, but she's got great friends and family to back her up. This book is filled with southern charm and wit that keeps you wanting more.

Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) provided by the Author and Publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an fair and honest review.

This series just gets better and better. The sassy dialogue, the delightful characters, the simmering romance, the mystery to solve all combine to make a fantastic cozy series. Kalan Chapman Lloyd had created a wonderful small southern town in Brooks, OK. She has also created the quintessential southern family in the Atkins family. Their roots go deep into the Oklahoma dirt and their pride in their ranch and their family shines through. Lilly is at a crossroads in her life. She is one for following the proprieties as taught to young southern women. The problem is, although she followed the rules, her life has not turned out like it was promised. It's hard to come face to face with the truth that even if you do everything you are supposed to, you sometimes don't get the brass ring, or in this case, the wedding ring and to realize that in some way you are part of what went wrong.

Lilly is up to her ears in it this time around. Van Ehlers, Lilly's no good, cheating slime of an ex-fiancée is in town. He came to Brooks to talk to Lilly. Her response "Drop dead."

Her family has bigger problems than the appearance of Van. Someone has rustled some of their cattle. Lilly has been told, and not very nicely, to stay out of it. Did anyone think that was going to work?

Cash, Lilly's high school sweetheart is on probation and her dad has agreed to let him work on the ranch. Lilly is not a happy camper about this, especially since new interest, Spencer, set it up.

Lilly thinks that Spencer doesn't like her, even after a few make out sessions. Spencer informs her: "We've never made out. If we ever went beyond one kiss in a moment of crazy, you wouldn't leave standing." Whee, vigorously fanning myself right now.

The next day at work Lilly at a work Lilly receives a disturbing message in the mail: I know what you did last summer When she shares all with bestie Fae, she tells Lily: "And you're not curled up in a corner with a straw in a wine bottle or polishing your boots and your gun?" Lilly, trying for zen tells her "No, I'm fine. I'm doing yoga."

Lilly is ignoring everyone and digging into the rustling and this will probably not end well for her. Probably, Spencer will end up saving her life, again. So, grab this book, turn on your favorite country music station and enjoy. Don't forget to dig out that pair of cowboy boots you own, great for channeling Lilly. Mine are Nocona Boots, bought straight from the factory in Nocona, Texas.

I saw this on Netgalley and the title and cover gave me quite a different impression. I thought this would be a nice, country romance but it's not. There are country, small town elements but there was little to no romance, annoying characters and a mystery I cared nothing about.

This book seems to be the third in a mystery series with Lillian Katherine Atkins or Lily Kay as the main character. The book is written in the first person and we learn everything through Lilly's eyes. Her voice is somewhat annoying. She is annoyed by everyone in her acquaintance except her mom and grandma.

Lilly has just moved back home to Brooks, Oklahoma, where she grew up and where her parents live on a cattle farm. She has left the city and run away from her finance because he cheated on her. While in Brooks, Lilly introduces the reader to her school girl boyfriend, her love interest and her sister.

The mystery involved Lilly's father. He had a large amount of his cattle go missing and the group suspects cattle rustlers but that is as far as I got. Lilly seems to think herself a good sleuth so she was on the lookout for answers. All the while, her ex is in town and she was trying to piece together what he wanted and ways to get rid of him.

I really didn't like Lilly's voice. Every time the reader is introduced to a new character, Lilly describes everything physical about that character. I finally put it together that she gave detailed descriptions of boots because of the title but really, it was too much.
I didn't like how the author wrote Lily's voice. She was kind of a quirky person and tried to be funny but she came off as annoying for me. Lilly would introduced each characters with a huge paragraph, or more, of back story about that person. I haven't read any of the other books that have Lilly Kay in them but I got the impression that there are more with her solving the mystery and saving the day.

Overall, I didn't like Lilly enough to want to read the book. I found that I really didn't care about the mystery to the story. The love interest was boring and I had no interest in finding out if they made it. This book just wasn't for me.

Content: I only read to 53% of the book and there was strong language and talk of drugs.

Sassy Southern Belle Lilly Atkins is back again in this third installment of the Misadventures of Miss Lilly. This series follows the unapologetically southern attorney and her wacky girl posse in a slapstick blend of chick lit and cozy mystery.

In So Many Boots, So Little Time, Lilly is having an existential crisis. Her no count cheating ex-fiance has come to town to make her life miserable, and Lilly finds that small-town Oklahoma is not a big enough place to have to deal with her first love, her smarmy ex, and her last kiss all at the same time. The stress is just too much for our gal, and Lilly is having a desperation-induced identity crisis. While she is turning inward and hoping ignoring it all will make it go away, Lilly occasionally pokes her nose into the investigation of her family's stolen cattle. The mystery took a backseat to the drama in this installment, so we saw a lot more of the relationship dynamics between Lilly and those around her.

I love all the characters that Kalan Chapman Lloyd has infused into this series. I'm totally jealous of Lilly's girl posse. Each girl has their own brand of crazy, mostly with a stereotypical southern bent involving guns, big hair and boots. But the girls are a cohesive unit that highlight the importance and benefit of having that ride or die group of girlfriends around you when things get tough... or when you just need to shoot something. The men are nothing to sneeze at either, most evincing southern charm and manners... or at least a little bad boy magnetism. Well, except for that aggravating Yankee, Spencer Locke.

We get some personal growth from Lilly in this installment... both with respect to her self-image and her relationship habits. While I wouldn't classify this as a romance, there is the promise of a relationship on the horizon. Lilly is an endearing heroine who continues to draw me in, probably because I can see a little of myself in her at times, but also because she is a hot mess. I'm not sure what that says about me.

[ I received this book free from the publisher through NetGalley. I thank them for their generousity. In exchange, I was simply asked to write an honest review, and post it. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255 “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising]

“You know,” Mama started, “Hiding from a problem usually doesn’t fix it.”“Yes,” I admitted, trying to hide my feelings of unrest with a sardonic tone, “apparently it rises from the dead and follows you to Oklahoma.”

This is the story of Lillian Katherine Atkins, Esq. Her family calls her Lilly Kay. She's run back home to Oklahoma to her family's ranch to escape her cheater of a fiance. And she's set up a small law office with her grandmother as her office manager, where whoever walks in could actually be checking on the family instead of seeking legal advice.

However, she isn't proven to listen to many people. Her love life tanked, her life seems just as run down. She's bound and determined to help find rustlers even if her family has forbidden her to get involved. Wrap all this in preparations for a town wide celebration of her family's beginnings in the area, and let's see what happens.

Lilly needs a wake up call. She's spoiled and knows how to get her own way...or die tryin'. This book was kind of "meh" for me and took a lot of concentration to get through it. Best thing I thought was the descriptions of clothes, boots and surroundings. It did not help ( and yes, I know this is an ARC) that there were consistant grammerical errors in use of posessive plurals and apostrophes. The story was dull and formulaic. Not recommended.

Readers can expect nothing less than a raucous good time wrapped in an exhilarating, who-done-it mystery from the title So Many Boots, So Little Time by Kalan Chapman Lloyd. So Many Boots, So Little Time is a contemporary western complete with cattle rustlers and a trio of handsome men all vying for the attention of the story’s heroine, Lilly Atkins. Lilly is a sharp, no nonsense attorney and an amateur sleuth with a biting sense of humor, and a boldness reserved for only the most self assured.
Lilly’s law firm is located in her hometown of Brooks, Oklahoma. She had been practicing her profession in a major, metropolitan area, but decided to close up shop when she discovered her fiancé was still dating. Lilly returned to Brooks for a fresh start and to spend time with her parents and sister. Life in Oklahoma wasn’t as sedate as she had left it. In a few short days her father’s cattle were stolen, the FBI arrived on the scene, and her ex-lover came to town. The reason for all these events beg to be uncovered and Lilly is just the person for the job.
She doesn’t do it alone, however. She calls on a collection of quirky friend she refers to as her “posse.” Lilly falls in and out of trouble and love while trying to track down those responsible for stealing from her family. She tails suspects, conducts surveillance, and unearths records only she can use to try the culprits once she rounds them up.
Chapman Lloyd’s book is a treat. The plot is intriguing and the prose is as rich as Martha Stewart. So Many Boots, So Little Time is the third in the Miss Adventures of Miss Lilly series.

Love this series. It keeps getting better. Lilly and her Posse are back and better than ever. Lilly of course finds trouble even when she's told to stay away. She's got way too much going on in her love life, but she's got friends and family to back her up. Lots of southern charm and wit that keeps you wanting more.

I still loved the heck out of this book, but with Lilly’s attempt at a kinder, gentler approach to life, it also lost just a little bit of its humor. I tried really hard to follow the clues this time – mostly because I wasn’t as distracted by the posse’s shenanigans, but I still wasn’t able to figure out the solution before the big reveal. I think part of it was because there are just so many characters in this book that I had some difficultly keeping track of all the ones that were new in this book. I enjoyed seeing Lilly’s introspection and witnessing the learning and growth that comes from it. I’m very curious to see where else this series is going to go now.

Quirky and entertaining. Lilly is a good character. I read this as a standalone so I was a little confused as to some of the details initially especially vis a vis the romantic issues, but eventually settled in. LLoyd has a light breezy writing style and this is a quick read. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. You will like this if you enjoy chick lit with a little mystery thrown in.

I was given a copy of this book by netgalley for an honest review.

3 1/2 Stars

So Many Boots, So Little Time is the third book in the MisAdventures of Miss Lilly series. The series follows the life and misadventures of Lilly Atkins, as she deals with her exes and possible future boyfriends, and helps towns people of Brooks, OK, with legal problems, sometimes in a very un-lawyerly fashion. The supporting characters make this series worth reading all on their own, though Lilly and the mysteries and crimes she bumbles through solving are pretty fantastic too. I keep trying to pick a favorite supporting character, but the favorite changes from one scene to the next, since they are all so amazing!!

Obviously I'm a fan of the author's character building. I've read all the books, so I'm a little more familiar with each of the characters than someone would be if they picked up this book first, but that doesn't mean you'd be lost. The world building is not quite as great as the character building, but it's still decent. This installment, or Volume as the author refers to it, seems to have a lot of repetitive descriptions in it, whether it be about a person or something that's happened or, most especially, how Lilly is feeling about what's going on in her life. I do have an "uncorrected advanced reader's copy", so maybe some of that will get cleared up before the final book is released. There were other editing issues that I'm hoping will be corrected before the final copy is released. This is something that comes up with uncorrected versions by various authors and is definitely not unique to Kalan.

In So Many Boots, So Little Time, someone has stolen some cattle from Lilly's family, and though she's been asked and ordered not to get involved, she starts investigating the cattle rustling incident. And while she's dealing with the violation of her family's property, her ex-fiance, Van Payton Ehlers the Third, shows up looking for something that Lilly said she had when she left him, not really knowing the item was real. But now that Van is engaged to Miss Texas and running for a state Senate seat, he wants any possible skeletons in his closet hidden far, far in the back. She also starts getting letters in the mail that said "I know what you did last summer" and other uninspired things, spelled out with letters cut out of magazines and newspapers. With all the things that had happened to Lilly in the last nine months, these letters made her somewhat nervous, so she passed them along to the police. On top of all this craziness, Lilly is about to have a nervous breakdown, caused mostly by the men in her life, and her family is planning a huge party in honor of the fiftieth anniversary of her great grandparents buying the land they live on currently. You might think the story would be hard to follow with all this going on, but it really isn't. The mystery is definitely enough to keep your mind involved, while the other elements add humor (so much humor at times!!), gravity, purpose, and overall, the whole book is thought-provoking.

I would recommend this book, and series, to anyone that is a fan of chick lit mysteries, with a heavy leaning toward religion. The religion is heavier in this volume than it was in the previous installments, though it leans more to self reflection and Lilly's personal feelings toward God and what she needs to do to make her relationship with Him better, than preaching to the reader. That is important to me, I don't appreciate someone pushing their beliefs on as many people as possible, without knowing any of those people. I would warn that romance isn't a very large element of this book. What romance there is, is mostly Lilly reminiscing about her two past relationships, and a handful of interactions with her hopefully future relationship. This book, and series, is definitely worth reading, so grab a copy and get started on Lilly's MisAdventures right now!!

Reading miss Lilly is like watching an entire season of a grown up Veronica Mars (always getting into trouble but never meaning to) transplanted to a small Oklahoma town, including shady ex boyfriends and a cute guy saving her ass. It’s a romantic mystery suspense comedy. Yeahaw!

This is the third book in this series of continuing adventures of Miss Lilly and the first book I read by this author, thanks to an ARC through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. It is possible to read as a standalone (as I did), but possible better when you’ve read the previous books in this series. Although another reviewer said the books were getting better with the series progressing, so, maybe start with this one and then work your way back.

Miss Lilly came back to her home town in Oklahoma to escape and just as in real life, that didn’t work out so well in this story either. Only it’s not just the guy she tried to escape that gets her into trouble, but a whole lot of other things as well: cattle being stolen, strange letters being delivered, there’s a rodeo, decisions about hair, clothing, all those cake, muffins and pie the ladies of the town are whipping up out of nowhere and of course the lover of her past and that cute guy that doesn’t seem to like her at all. And that guy, well, turns out he likes her very well indeed, as everyone keeps telling her. He reminded me a lot of Barron, from the urban fantasy series Fever by Karen Marie Moning: mysterious, always saving Lilly from the trouble she gets herself all the while patiently waiting for Lilly to come to her senses and choose him. But knowing Lilly… will she?

The story is told in a single first person POV from Lilly’s perspective. It is generally fast paced but slows down at times with descriptions of the town or its inhabitants, or with a seemingly erratic wandering off into scenes without a clear purpose - which took some getting used to, but grew on me – and sometimes Lilly talks directly to the reader: ‘you know me’, like a voice-over would. One could say the story needed more editing, and with respect to the first 10% of the book I agree, but it’s also a unique tone. I do hope the author will be able to edit those first 10% before this book makes its final debut.

Will I read more by this author? Yes. And with that I am surprising myself. I will backtrack and read the first books so that when the fourth book comes out (no idea when) I have the storylines all straightened out. Will I recommend this to my friends? Yes, only I will stress them that this is not a typical romance and at the same time not a typical romantical mystery or suspense story.

So Many Boots, So Little Time
3 1/2 out of 5 Stars
Publication Date: Oct 2016
So Many Boots is a Southern Cozy Mystery, which is feminine, cordial, and venomously funny. The heroine, Miss Lilly Kay lives in Oklahoma and is surrounded by white-hot men, most of whom are chastely indulgent and fiercely protective, with the exception of her two exes and an Oh.
Lilly Kay is supposed to be a lawyer, but the only thing to back that up is the fact that she says “allegedly” too many times to count. Lilly thinks she's going to solve a mystery, however she just flounders around causing trouble from which she must be rescued time and time again.
Miss Lilly lives on a huge spread (ranch) with three generations of her wildly rich family, whom she calls “My people.” This includes her Poppa, her Nonnie, Daddy, Mama, and her sister Tallulah Belle who used to be an internationally famous model. She also has what she calls her Posse: a bunch of smart-mouth women who spend their time fairly confident that they can get away with murder. These are the kind of girls who smile to your face and put ex-lax in your iced tea. (Several of them break into a man's room and set his clothes on fire, but they tell Lilly to her face that she looks like hell.) Bless their hearts.
As a “Yankee” I guess I don't understand all the covertly-aggressive nuance in the south, but there's probably a reason that cotton-mouth is the name of a venomous snake. I also didn't understand that “Y'all” can be a one-word sentence that means, Tell me what you're laughing about/lying about, right fricking now!”
The book is called So Many Boots, So Little Time, and the author allots quite a few sentences to fashion and footwear. It could also be called Southern Hardbodies because, although Lloyd never described any of the characters as having abs of steel, I was fairly certain that would be true for at least four or five of the men, and a fair amount of the women, too.
I know this review sounds like I didn't like the book but I did. Kalan Chapman Lloyd has a way with words and if I didn't laugh out loud while reading it, I was at least smirking like the Yankee that I am. So Many Boots is a lovely, gritty slice of charmingly southern culture, with a heavy dollop of Moral of the Story on top. It's the third in a series with a teaser for book four, however it stands alone just fine, bless its little heart.

Chapman Lloyd’s snappy writing is engagingly readable and she pulled me effortlessly into Lilly’s mid-western world of cowboys, ranches where men are rough and tough, guns are an everyday accessory and women are judged as much by their baking and cooking skills as their appearance. And appearance matters a lot to Lilly. Unusually these days, we get a rundown of everyone’s clothing and footwear as Lilly meets up with them – every time… To be honest, this got a tad wearing throughout the book. Especially as Lilly’s crisis of confidence on being confronted with the two main failed relationships in her life manifests itself in her trying on a number of different clothing styles. While the clothing descriptions were slickly done, because I have little interest in the clothing industry and even less knowledge – the designer labels regularly tossed around meant nothing to me.

The main mystery – the loss of her grandfather’s cattle – became more or less incidental as Lilly ricocheted from one encounter with a concerned parent/disapproving friend/manipulative male to another confrontation. Think Kinsey Milhone without the gnarly murder and in airhead mode. I would have liked to see her working on a case as an attorney where something really mattered, because as far as I could see, she didn’t do very much except get under the feet of her family and annoy long-suffering Spencer.

It didn’t help that this copy was riddled with formatting and typographical errors – on accepting an arc one doesn’t expect a perfect copy, but there was hardly a page where words weren’t run together, lines broken in the wrong place or occasional punctuation errors. While Chapman Lloyd’s writing is mostly smooth and stylish, there were places where it plain graunched, giving me the impression this version had only been slightly edited.

So why didn’t this book go flying across the room and end up as a DNF? Because, despite all of that, Chapman Lloyd managed to make me care for exasperating Lilly and I found all the worldbuilding details enjoyably engrossing. There is a definite charm to this book and once I got to the end, I put it down with a grin.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Small town lawyer Lilly has a lot going on. She lives with her ex-model sister and right near her parents and grandparents. Her family's cattle farm has been broken into and cattle has been stolen, her previous boyfriend is now working on her family's farm at the recommendation of her latest crush, and her ex-fiancee has come into town and she's trying to figure out why, and her family is in the process of throwing a huge party in which the whole town is invited. With all these things going on, she is also trying to find her true self.

The writing in this book is a little of a different style that reminds me of your best friend who talks a mile a minute and about all different topics within the same conversation. While this was a little on the confusing side to me at first, I soon became accustomed to it and gave the main character a realness to her. Throughout the book, you learned a lot about Lilly and her family, friends, neighbors, and friends who are as close to being family without the blood connection. As a reader, you also learn about living in a small town, where your business becomes everyone's business no matter whether its meant to or not.

When I first started to read this book, I wasn't sure I could get through it in its entirety, however at the end I wanted to know more about the characters and their lives. This book had mystery, intrigue, lots of good 'ole fashioned advice about life and love, all wrapped in a story that was interesting and original. While this book can be read alone, it seems that much of what Lilly and company refer and allude to within the book can be found within the first books within the series, which I hope to be able to read as well.

Overall, I surprisingly really liked this book, and look forward to more from this author.

I picked So Many Boots, So Little Time by Kalan Chapman Lloyd based on the cover. I didn’t read the description, and that was a mistake. I went into this read thinking that it was a romantic comedy with a little western flair. That couldn’t be further from the case. “Boots” is a cozy mystery!

I periodically like a good cozy mystery. Boots has a decent story premise, and I like Ms. Llloyd’s writing style. However, the characters didn’t grab me. Lily Katherine Atkins seems to be perpetually annoyed or angry. Jilted by her finance, she might have reason to be a bit cranky, but that should have been balanced with an attribute/behavior that made her sympathetic. Since this is book three in the series, and I haven’t read the prior books, it is a bit unfair to be overly judgmental about it.

Ms. Lloyd’s depiction of small town and ranch life was colorful and interesting. I loved the strong women in the story. Lily’s “posse” is particularly wonderful. Every woman should surround herself with an awesome group of women who have her back!

While So Many Boots, So Little Time didn’t grab me, it is not without merit. I think avid cozy mystery fans will enjoy the story, but I have to add the caveat that you should start at the beginning of this series. The characters seem to have been previously developed, and without being invested in the characters, you might not “feel the love” for this book.

A 2 star read for me, but I'm giving it 3 stars for overall quality.

What a wildly entertaining book this is! In the third book of The MisAdventures of Miss Lilly series, So Many Boots, So Little Time focuses on MEN. Gorgeous men who all have a streak of humor in them, and they know how to talk. What better chick-lit than this. It says that the book is about cattle rustling, and in a way it is. It just takes a backseat to a small town full of sexy men: each one different in their own way.

Lilly seems to always have her hands full with her posse. Each one has an eclectic, and some might say eccentric way of dressing. Things really come to a head when they all decide to go to a new dance place that plays the hottest hits to the obscenely old country song to please everyone in and around the town. Lilly's dance partners leave something to be desired. However, it is the ghost of the story, the sorry dude who got caught cheating on her that starts a brawl to be, when they take it outside. Most every man and woman wants a turn. It's up to Lilly to make things right. All this is leading up to the infamous jubilee. What happens from there just might mean the exorcism the town needs to rid themselves from the ghost once and for all. It's all one wild time after another.

Thank you Kalan Chapman Lloyd and NetGalley for giving me a free copy of the e-ARC of this book to read and give my honest review.

What would you do with three men at your door? One’s your first love, who managed to completely skewer your heart so long ago. Two is the rat-bastard ex-fiance, whom you caught in flagrante with his secretary days before the wedding. Three is the Ross to your Rachel. And, for the love of all that is holy, they’ve all shown up at the door within seconds of each other. What’s a girl to do?

Lilly Atkins- a perfect mix of Stephanie Plum and Olivia Pope, with a little Alicia Florrick thrown in- details this conundrum and more from small town Oklahoma.

So Many Boots, So Little Time was my first foray into the MisAdventures of Miss Lilly series and read well as a standalone. However within minutes of finishing this rare jewel of a book, I couldn’t wait for Amazon to complete my purchase and buy its predecessors. Both uproariously funny and full of drama, this is one of series I’ll be gifting and rereading. A five-star story, my only issue with my copy was the dire need of an editor. The grammar gets a C+ at best, so it only gets a four-star rating. Once someone takes out all the mental red pen marks, this book will be a favorite for years.

I enjoyed this book the most out of the series. Once again Ms. Lloyd takes on a a soul searching ride. Ms. Lilly is back in action when her swanky ex comes back to town, while her Poppa and Daddy are dealing with rustlers. This is enough to send Lilly Kay back to the crux of what brought her home. Her decisions and learning who she is while letting go of harmful relationships. Even though the men in her life tell her to stay out of it she wades into another investigation and gets out her .38 to kick up some dust. She and the Posse are back in action and taking no prisoners( They leave that to Scotty)

I laughed while reading this but it resonated with me more than the others. Lilly was even more relatable in this because of her introspect. She finally faces her internal torment and faces her fears. Lilly's conversation with her Momma had me in tears, because lets face it most girls get to that point.

I loved getting to know the characters even better and seeing the different aspects of the town. Every book makes me like them more and I cant wait to see what happens next. Not least to see what Spencer has in store for Lilly.

So Many Boots, So Little Time by Kalan Chapman Lloyd is another tale of the quirky Lilly Atkins. This is the third book in the series I received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. While I have not read the previous two books, the author have given us enough glimpses into the past to allow us to follow comfortably.

Lily Kay has come home to Brooks, OK to do some soul searching and maybe start over. But life has other ideas. Cattle has been stolen from her family's ranch and she's been told to stay out of it. Ha - no way! Her daddy's ranch has become a half-way house for her ex-first love, and the ex-fiance she fled has shown up in town. Plus, hot and cold Spencer is one step behind her saving her ass.

I loved Lily Kay's sense of family and her awesome posse that support her. This is a great stand alone book with a character's emotional growth that will touch your heart. I myself like more mystery to balance the romance but the author's narrative was engaging. Looking forward to the next book.

I didn't really know what to expect when I first started reading this book. I picked it out because it seemed like a fun mystery. And there was some mystery in it (like who stole the cows?) there was also a little romance, along with some drama. Lilly's first love shows up, her ex fiance as well as a guy she's interested in. Dang. Lot's of guys in one room. Awkward.

All in all this book wasn't my favorite. There were parts where I was confused and I had to reread a few pages to sort of understand what was going on. But it wasn't that the story was hard to understand, or deep really, I just got confused. Not super sure why. It was also semi anti climatic. You find out who stole the cows and why Van is still hanging around, and you're like. eh. cool. It wasn't that much of a mystery, more like a fiction novel with a little mystery and romance thrown in. I guess it's also a third book in a series (??) But it was fine to be read as a stand alone.

This is the 3rd book in Kalan Chapman Lloyd's "BOOTS" series & this one is the best one yet!!
Things come to a head for Lilly in this book. It opens with Lilly finding out that some heifers were stolen off of her Daddy & Poppa's ranch. And if that's not bad enough Lilly's ex-fiance, Van, shows up with no warning. Ex-crush, Cash, shows up also & all of a sudden Lilly is having to confront all of her romantic mistakes in front of the whole town. She flounders a little but with her Posse of friends behind her she does some soul searching, southern belle style. She also has to decide what her feelings are for Spencer because he's certainly let her know that he's interested in her!

I'm looking forward to future books because I'm excited to see Lilly & Spencer's relationship develop & grow. This book is lots of fun, with a whole slew of classic Southern belles who will make you laugh out loud & will feel like one of your sisters by the end of the book!

Lilly and her Posse are at it again, bring absolute hilarity, wit and snark to another wonderful installment of her outrageous life as an attorney in the small town of Brooks, OK. As Lilly works, behind the scenes, on capturing cattle rustlers, yes they still exist and operate, she's also juggling three men, her first love turned sour Cash, her cheating ex-fiancé, Van, and her want to love now, Spencer.

Though Lilly is trying yoga to keep herself Zen while tackling dealings in both her personal and professional lives, it's not long before you find yourself rooting for her inner Southern to come out to address all her "issues". I'm so looking forward to the next installment of The Misadventures of Miss Lilly because I cannot get enough of this Southern girl's brand of justice and fair play.

So Many Boots, So Little Time by Kalan Chapman Lloyd was another tale of the quirky Lilly Atkins. This time she has to do some soul searching as now her ex-finance' has come to Brooks which adds to her emotional turmoil. Cattle has been stolen from her family's ranch and she's been told by all of the men in her life to stay out of it. Well, we all know Lilly and that's not going to happen.

I love Lilly's posse and their support of Lilly as she faces her past and comes to some decisions regarding her present and her future. Her conversation with her mother touched me as truth, even lovingly dispensed, still hurts. That Lilly recognized it was huge for her. Ms. Lloyd spins a chic lit tale with mystery, emotional growth and a little romance.

This is the best book of the series so far.

The story is fast moving and interesting with just enough mystery for Miss Lilly to get herself into a mess with.

There is also movement in Lilly's romantic life. (I seriously hate books with endless love triangles and will she or won't she type meanderings.)

Best of all, this series has an actual story arc and character development. I know this is kind of a strange thing to point out, but there are so many series I have read and abandoned because there is zero character development and every book is exactly like the last book. I am happy that this will not be one more series I can not tolerate reading.

I can't wait for the next installment in Lilly's messy life.

Dust off those cowboy boots because this book is definitely a boot-stompin’ good time!

This is the third book in the MisAdventures of Miss Lilly series, but it can definitely be read as a stand-alone novel.

This is a well written book. The characters are bold and quirky. The plot is funny, engaging, interesting, not to mention full of mystery, mischief, drama, and romance. And the setting is the alluring Wild West, complete with ranches, cowboys, rustlers, and good southern cooking. It doesn’t get better than that.

I really enjoyed this book. It will definitely make you smile!

Thank you to NetGalley, especially Kalan Chapman Lloyd, for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.
