Questo libro raccoglie otto saggi o articoli sul camminare, ovvero:

5) Il camminare come convenzione sociale;
6) Il camminare in letteratura;
7) L'equipaggiamento per camminare;

A essere sincero mi aspettavo tutt'altra cosa, ma non mi è dispiaciuto anche se risente del linguaggio in cui fu scritto (inizi del 900). L'autore è preparatissimo e cita spesso frasi di poemi epici in latino, e comunque ci sono osservazioni interessanti sul camminare. Alla lunga stanca, quindi non saprei se consigliarvelo oppure no.

Volumetto non essenziale sul camminare nelle sue varie declinazioni e peculiarità, raccontato con ampie digressioni. La prosa è ricercata, le citazioni frequenti, l’umorismo utilizzato spesso ma non con la leggerezza e l’efficacia di un Twain, bensì con un risultato sovente un po’ forzato e fiacco.
