A wasteland made habitable, the city of Kyara is a testament to the future's unlimited technology, but when a woman meets a violent death, her sister, Gabriel Kylie, begins a search for the truth about her death in this place filled with dangerous secrets. Original.
A whole situation that starts with a woman being killed that leads to a lot of intrigue and questioning what is true, and it ends up with someone just wanting to see it all go due to guilt. The main character ends up realizing things about himself through all of this. This book is not boring, and the ending...well, a whole lot leading up to that, but understandable if you paid attention. I would so recommend it.
Although a bit of a slow start, I grew to like this story, though I never loved it. The world he has set up is believable, and the characters are well done, but it took me a while to care about them and what happened to them. It has just enough of a mystery to it, why did his sister die and who caused it - to make it interesting. But, the main character, Gabriel is not someone you really like or care about. Nice pacing, good backstory and perhaps someone else would be more in synch with the character than me.
