Having learned my lesson from writing short little reviews for the Vampire Hunter D manga, I'm just straight up going to say that the art for this is gorgeous. My only complaint is that it's sometimes a little too heavy on the fanservice, but it's otherwise really well put-together. I love the characters and the plot – which builds itself as the volumes progress, revealing the world to us gradually and making it seem very, very real. Overall, this is one of my favourite mangas and I'm really disappointed that the English release hasn't been continued.

WTF girl ? she act like she is a shojo teenager in love with abel... except than in the next book she doesn't give this impression anymore. so why ? and Ion who attack the cardinal and then don't understand why he is shout at ? are you serious ? THAT NOT HOW DIPLOMACY WORK BRUH !

The series seems to start to become all over the place with the introduction of the new vampires in this book. The graphics still make it impressive and worth reading especially since I am a fan of Hellsing series.

New characters, more stunning character design. The beggining of the backstory starts to unravel.
You can really feel the time skip between last volume and this one, and the tension building not just between the main characters and the antagonists, but also against each other.

I love all the worldbuilding and background and how it allows you to understand it without spelling it out.

So by the third book I would think at in a normal book this is were the plot should come to light, i.e give me a reason why I am reading this in the first place. Like I have said already I find that manga don't or choose not to stay with this poplar outline. Yet I must say Trinity Blood has done this main stream plot build. The first 2 books we learn about the main characters and what makes them stand outs. Now going into the next books should start to go towards the plot development, which is done. Is it done well, you will have to come to that conclusion yourself.

The third installment picks up with Easter being promoted to a full nun and cool new outfit, yea. Really what I found myself doing this installment was the what's happening game. Like when Easter is attack my a Vampire out in the courtyard but defeats it by falling into the fountain. Which was quick thinking on her part, yet her boss finds it simple luck. Yea, she got lucky that the vampire found her at the fountain. Is it really luck that she was able to think fast on her feet and put together that the vamp that brock out had stolen UV gel which can come off if the skin is wet. I would say that was quick thinking not dumb luck. As to the question of what would she have done if the fountain wasn't there and to that I answer I don't know. We were only given that one option, so what do you want us to say. Oh she must have had a gun on her or she could scream for help, but they wouldn't make us get being Easter as a charter. Which is really what this section of the story is doing. Why should we like Easter? Because she wants to be apart of the group, she wants answers as to why her home was destroyed. I want to like her, she seem like the character that wants to do good but isn't allowed to play with the cool kids so she dose things to try to impress them but it turns out that she really just make a mess of things. This is total something I can get behind in a character, which is mostly like the one who will grow throughout the story.

I did opt to not really talk about the plot in this review so that if you are reading them as well you wont look at this review and find out that one of the lords is a bad guy. ops see I just dropped a spoiler, I can't be trusted. But that is a thing along with the ok could have been better fight between Able and Father Petros. As for the next really book in the reading line up has yet to be determined. I am look at two books but I can't figure out which one I will do. It will be within the next few days, so keep your eyes open.

Volume 3 has a more coherent throughline, a more serious outlook, less stupid humor, and fewer deformed art moments. There's still humor but more of it is actually funny this time. (For some reason, Abel's "Where are my glasses?" moment in particular cracks me up, maybe partly because I think some of it is an act he put on for Esther.) Esther has times of competency, Tres' kindness shows through, and Abel gets to kick ass even without going to Crusnik and show his serious side more.

Though I could do without more undercover work with Esther as a prostitute. I'm so thankful that was only two pages long.

Volume 3 starts getting into a somewhat different version of the events portrayed in the anime as "The Ibelis" episodes.

Finally by the third volume we get to see some more real plot or so it appears to be. We get a glimpse on what might come in following volumes and to what direction story might actually develop. We also get to see what nuns actually do in Rome i.e. what kind of missions they do compared to what priests do. To be honest I was kind of surprised. Also we get some annoying characters too which, I presume will remain in the story because they were introduced as big shots. Anyway, so far I give this volume 3/5 because I really can't stand bratty characters and aside from the main characters, which is a brat, it makes everything harder to accept.

In this book we meet Her Grace, The Duchess of Milan, Cardinal Caterina Sforza; Director of the Vatican Special Service Annex (AX). Gorgeous woman...she's the boss.
Did I tell you that Abel Nightroad also shifts into "Crusnik," when he's cornered. He drinks the blood of other vampires and has great powers that help in his battles.

Once again, interesting and fabulous artwork and fun read.

A lot of new characters showing up! I liked this volume. And poor Tres! He's so badass though!

I was sad to hear at the end of this volume that the author of the original novel had passed away. That must have been really hard for Kiyo Kyujyo :-( And to think he was only 34 when he died :-( But at least his legacy will live on in his novel, the manga series, and the anime and it is well loved.

Me gustaba bastante esta serie, lástima que haya quedado en el limbo. De hecho creo que nunca leí los últimos tomos publicados acá.

So I was super excited to read this again, but honestly I didn't like it very much ... and maybe that's due to my major headache? But I'll probably just stop here. Though the art is amazing.
