Independent Lucy O'Connor finds herself torn between her dream of making a living with her prize-winning quilts and her growing feelings for handsome Yankee Trace Abernathy, a man threatened by vengeful enemies. Original.
A typical romance novel with the protagonist being an independent, free-thinking woman in post-civil war times who is frequently at odds with the love interest, a solider relocating and starting afresh following the war.
An easy, enjoyable read, but the editing (or use of dictation software) made for difficulty early in the book. At times what was printed made no sense, causing the reader to puzzle out what was intended. The only other suggestion I would offer, again with editing, is to have a visual delineation such as *** or ### to show when the action was shifting from one character to another. Without it, there often was a lack of continuity.
I've read several books by Ms Sterling and she produces interesting, often fun, stories. I encourage you to read her books if you are looking for an easy, entertaining read.
Patchwork Hearts by Cynthia Sterling is very entertaining. She is so set on independence and having her own way. He is so afraid of loving and losing the one he loves. They both have to over come the fears they have. This is a wonderful heart warming story. It ends to soon, needs an epilogue. Read it!. Thanks
I really enjoyed this book. Cynthia Sterling writes such wonderful books. I start reading them and sometimes have a time turning it off because I want to know what happens. Thank you for writing such wonderful books, If you want a good historical romance this is a wonderful one.
