P.C. Zick describes herself as a storyteller no matter what she writes. And she writes in a variety of genres, including romance, contemporary fiction, and nonfiction. She's won various awards for her essays, columns, editorials, articles, and fiction. Currently, crafting fiction—mostly romances—occupies her time.

The three novels in her Florida Fiction Series contain stories of Florida and its people and environment, which she credits as giving her a rich base for her storytelling. "Florida's quirky and abundant wildlife—both human and animal—supply my fiction with tales almost too weird to be believable."

Her contemporary romances in the Behind the Love series are also set in Florida. The novels in her most recent series, Smoky Mountain Romances, are set in the fictional town of Laurel, North Carolina. She is currently working on a new romance series, Rivals in Love. Join the Crandall family of Chicago as the siblings find love despite their focus on successful careers. Her Montauk Romances are set in and around Long Island and feature simple, yet sophisticated beach houses designed with romantic intent.

Civil War Journal from the 2nd Michigan contains the reminiscences of her great-grandfather, Harmon Camburn, who joined the Union Army on April 20, 1861. The book contains his journal as well as annotations about the war in general. She’s also included several appendices that add local context to the journal. This is an expanded version of Civil War Journal of a Union Soldier published in 2013.

She has written several books of nonfiction on topics from gardening to travel to memoir. Her body of work contain stories set in a variety of places. Along with writing contemporary fiction and romances and creative nonfiction, Ms. Zick is also an editor, book formatter, and publisher.

She and her husband live in Tallahassee, Florida, during the winter. In the spring, they enjoy life in the Smoky Mountains near Murphy, North Carolina, where they enjoy gardening, kayaking, and golfing. And of course, in both locations,

Ms. Zick weaves stories that share her philosophy of living lightly upon this earth with love, laughter, and passion.

Not a fan of the way Sissy handles things. I liked the surprise aspect of big purchase for David but it was cruel not to tell him after the offer was accepted.
By the 3rd installment of this series, the writing style has worn me out. It's choppy and misses major things (like exactly how one of the major characters died & how their family felt about it all).

Best one so far

This is a sweet heart tugging story. David and Sissy are two lost souls who find each other in a most unusual way. Give it a chance because it is well worth the price.

*The author provided me with a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review which follows*

When you first meet Sissy Jones you find her at a crossroads in her life. Starting over is never easy. The Smoky Mountains beckon and so does a new career. She opens a coffee shop in the small town of Murphy where Sissy meets David Bellwood, a new business owner himself. David begins a small newspaper in town, hoping to be near his boyhood cabin, where the memories of his mother haunt him.

Both David and Sissy are smitten with each other and friendship blossoms into love. Each character has issues with a parent. Sissy has a controlling mother and David has a father who is hiding a deep secret from him. As their family lives spiral out of control they find solace in each other’s arms.

This is my favorite kind of romance – You know, the kind where there is a mystery involved. David was told his mother died when he was young. Hungry for the truth, he hires a private investigator who finds the truth. Sissy tries to help but seems to make matters worse. Can their love survive?

I enjoyed this story as much as all of P. C. Zick’s novels. Somehow, she writes characters that seem to sneak their way into my heart. I always enjoy when there is a life lesson intertwined into a romance novel, and Mountain Miracles doesn’t disappoint.

This sweet story is filled with the feelings and desires of a first true love relationship. Add some family drama and mystery and you have a recipe for a story that reminds you of your own first love.

This is the perfect novel for a Sunday afternoon or for a vacation. Short, sweet, and oh, so good!

This is yet another excellent serving by the multi-talented P.C. Zick and yet another proof that lighthearted romance doesn't have to be shallow and flat.
Sissy runs away from her mother and ex-boyfriend and moves to a mountainous setting. Remote it is but you can't escape those who also live there.
There is the super hot neighbour David for example, who is shy and arrogant, or maybe misunderstood?
Misunderstandings play a role in this novel as we see the story from both, Sissy's and David's point of view. This is hugely enjoyable.
But this wouldn't be P.C. Zick if there weren't more to the characters than finding love. Characters debelop, show depth and are faced with more than 'he loves me, he loves me not'. There is a lot of happiness and resolve in this, despite some sad moments. I'm not a great fan of romance but this kept me going from page one.
The quality of the writing is impeccable. The dialogue and the rest of the prose flow easily and really make this a story I could relate to.
Knowing that the author has recently moved and based the novel in her new surrounding out of love for it, I enjoyed it even more. The genuinely positive life experience shows in her work.
If you like romance, this is definitely for you

Sissy has moved to Murphy, a small town the Smoky Mountains, to get a fresh start away from her overbearing mother. She is opening a cover shop next door to the new paper starting up. David has come to start up his own small town paper, disappointing his father who wants bigger and better things for him.

Both of these two have issues galore, especially with their parents, and think that it isn’t the right time for a relationship. But, they cannot deny their attraction and growing feelings for each other. As they get to know each other, they are able to help each other heal and grow, even after David’s initial feelings that Sissy is interfering. A beautiful story of finding our own identities and making our own way in the world.

"Mountain Miracles" (A Smoky Mountain Romance) by P.C. Zick

"Mountain Miracles" was an enjoyable read filled with multiple storylines and characters. It is a novel that brings many characters together. It fills in some blanks of their relationships without being too busy or complicated.

The author has multiple storylines running at the same time, yet never drops one or let's one just sort of end. She brings everything to a close at the same time.

While this novel is a bit different from "Misty Mountain," it is just as enjoyable. You see different sides of many of the characters in this novel. Also we begin to see the development of David and Cecilia's relationship which is truly heartwarming.

"Mountain Miracles" reads well, covers a lot of territory character and event wise and was very enjoyable to read.

I RECOMMEND this novel, as well as the series.

Sissy was at a low point, breaking up with a boyfriend of two years. Comes to this little town, buying a house, and wondering what employment she could find. People rally around her, and made her feel welcome, after realizing she had been duped by Becca. The drama of young love continues in this delightful series.
