Six years ago, the small town of Split Creek, Texas, was rocked to its core when a young woman was brutally murdered. Her killer was never found. Now another girl has disappeared....
First time to read this author - it was a "fast" read for me because it was such a page turner - many well written characters that will keep you guessing until the end of the story... 2 girls disappear years apart- Why???....are they dead or alive??..and who in such a small town could do such a thing???
I really enjoy Helen R. Myers mystery/thrillers. Keeps me sitting on the edge of my seat and this one was no disappointment.
From back cover:
"When Faith Ramey's abandoned car is discovered, the town can't help feeling an unwelcome sense of deja vu. Police Chief Jared Morgan doesn't want to believe there's a connection, but Faith's sister, Michaele, is beginning to suspect otherwise. She has sacrificed everything-including her true feelings for Jared-to ensure her younger sister's future. Now, losing Faith could do more than crush her...it might destroy the entire community.
As secrets and scandals are exposed, old fears-and new-spawn doubt and suspicion. Is a sinister stranger lurking behind the murder and Faith's disappearance-or does someone in Split Creek have blood on their hands? Only Michaele's fierce determination and her trust in jared-will help her see the truth hidden in plain sight".
It was okay. The entire time I was reading it I had the feeling I had read it before, but could not remember what was happening next, until it happened.
